પીએમ મોદીએના ગૃહ રાજ્ય રાજ્ય ગુજરાતમાં જ્યાં એક તરફ અમેરિકી રાષ્ટ્રપતિ ડોનાલ્ડ ટ્રંપના સ્વાગતની તૈયારીઓ જોરશોરથી ચાલી રહી છે, તો બીજી તરફ આવા સમયે શરમજનક ઘટનાઓ અટકવાનું નામ લેતી નથી. થોડા દિવસ પહેલાં ભુજની એક કોલેજમાં 68 છોકરીઓને કપડાં ઉતરાવીને માસિક ધર્મની તપાસના સમાચારથી હંગામો મચ્યો હતો જે હજુ શાંત થયો નથી ત્યારે વધુ એક એવી જ ઘટના સુરત શહેરમાંથી સામે આવી છે.

પાર માટે આખી દુનિયામાં ચર્ચિત સુરતમાં નોકરી માટે તપાસના નામે લગભગ 100 મહિલાઓના કપડાં ઉતરાવવાનો મામલો પ્રકાશમાં આવ્યો છે. સરકાર દ્વારા સંચાલિત સુરત મ્યુનિસિપલ કોર્પોરેશન (એસએમસી) કર્મચારી સંઘે નિગમ અધિકારી પાસે આ ફરિયાદ નોંધાવવામાં આવી છે, જેમાં કહેવામાં આવ્યું છે કે ફિટનેસ ટેસ્ટના નામે લગભગ 100 મહિલા કર્મચારીઓને બધાની સામે નિવર્સ્ત્ર કરવામાં આવ્યા અને તેમનો પ્રેગનેંસી ટેસ્ટ પણ કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો.

પોતાની ફરિયાદમાં સંઘે જણાવ્યું હતું કે લગભગ 100 ટ્રેની કર્મચારી અનિવાર્ય ફિટનેસ ટેસ્ટ માટે સુરતના નગર તબીબી વિજ્ઞાન અને સંસ્થાએ પહોંચ્યા હતા. તેમાં સામેલ મહિલા ટ્રેની ક્લાર્કને 10-10ના ગ્રુપમાં નિર્વસ્ત્ર ઉભી રાખી હતી. એટલું જ નહી, ત્યારબાદ મહિલાઓની સમસ્યા અને સન્માનને નજરઅંદાજ કરતાં તેમની પ્રેંગનેંસી પણ ચેક કરવામાં આવી હતી. તમામ ટ્રેની મહિલાઓની ત્યાં હાજર મહિલા ડોક્ટરોએ પ્રેંગ્નેંસી ટેસ્ટ કર્યો અને તેમને વ્યક્તિગત પ્રશ્નો પૂછ્યા હતા.

આ દરમિયાન ઘટનાના સમાચાર મીડિયામાં આવ્યા આવતાં રાષ્ટ્રીય મહિલા આયોગે રાજ્યના મુખ્ય સચિવ અનિલ મુકીમ અને મુખ્ય સચિવ ડો જયંતી એસ રવિને કેસની તપાસ કરવા અને કમિશનને જલદીમાં જલદી રિપોર્ટ મોકલવા માટે કહ્યું છે.

આ મુદ્દે સુરત મ્યુનિસિપલ કોર્પોરેશન કર્મચારી સંઘ દ્વારા કોર્પોરેશન સામે માગણી મુકતા સંઘના જનરલ સેક્રેટરી એ.એ. શૈખે કહ્યું કે, અંદાજે 400 પૈકી કેટલીક મહિલા ટ્રેની કર્મચારીઓ કે જેને આ વર્ષે કાયમી નિમણુંક મળવાની છે. તેમને આ આઘાત જનક સ્થિતિમાંથી પસાર થવું પડ્યું હતું. મહિલાઓની મન:સ્થિતિ અંગે જાણ્યા બાદ અમારી માગણી છે કે તાત્કાલીક ધોરણે આ પ્રકારની અમાનવીય ટેસ્ટને બંધ કરવામાં આવે. દુનિયામાં ક્યાંય નોકરી માટે આ પ્રકારે ટેસ્ટ કરવામાં આવતી હોય તેવું ક્યાંય અમારા ધ્યાનમાં નથી.

તો બીજી તરફ આ મામલે હોસ્પિટલના સ્ત્રી રોગ વિભાગના પ્રમુખ અશ્વિન વછાણીએ જણાવ્યું હતું કે હોસ્પિટલની ગાઇડલાઇન્સ મુજબ અમારે મહિલાઓની ફિઝિકલ ટેસ્ટ કરવી પડે છે કેમ કે અમને આપવામાં આવેલ ગાઈડલાઈનમાં તે મેન્ડેટરી છે. મને નથી ખબર કે પુરુષો પર આવા કોઈ ટેસ્ટ કરવામાં આવ્યા છે કે નહીં પરંતુ મહિલાઓ બાબતે અમારે કેટલીક બીમારીઓની તપાસ માટે જે નિયમો છે તેનું પાલન કરવું પડે છે. જ્યારે સુરત કોર્પોરેશનમાં જ કામ કરતા એક 45 વર્ષના મહિલા કર્મચારીએ કહ્યું કે, 20 વર્ષ પહેલા મારે પણ ફિટનેસ ટેસ્ટ આપવી પડી હતી પરંતુ ત્યારે આ પ્રકારે અમાનવીય વ્યવહાર કરવામાં આવ્યો ન હતો.
