કોરોનાએ વિશ્વવ્યાપી અને ખૂબ પડકારજનક મહામારી છે. એની સામે મોખરાનો મોરચો સંભાળીને લડનારાઓમાં નર્સિંગ સમુદાયનો સમાવેશ થાય છે. આ સમુદાય વગર આરોગ્ય સેવાઓ અધૂરી રહે એવું કહી શકાય. એટલે જ 12 મી મે ના રોજ વિશ્વ નર્સિંગ દિવસ ઉજવી ને આ સમુદાયની સેવા નિષ્ઠાને આદર આપવામાં આવે છે. ગોત્રી હોસ્પિટલ ખાતે સ્ટાફ નર્સ તરીકે કાર્યરત એની જોય કૃશ્ચિયનએ નર્સિંગની અદભૂત સેવા નિષ્ઠાનો ઉજ્જવળ દાખલો રજૂ કર્યો છે.

કૉવિડ હોસ્પિટલમાં એનીને સોંપવામાં આવેલી ફરજો તે અદા કરી શકે એ માટે તેણે પોતાના માત્ર 15 મહિના ના માસૂમ દીકરા એલનને હૈયું કઠણ કરીને 80 કિમી દૂર જાંબુઘોડામાં નાનીમા પાસે મૂક્યો છે. એની કહે છે કે,જન્મ આપ્યો ત્યારબાદ પહેલીવાર એલનને મારા થી 25 દિવસ દૂર રાખ્યો છે. જો કે એનો રંજ નથી કારણ કે મેં જે સેવા વ્યવસાય સ્વીકાર્યો છે એના માટે મમતાનો ભોગ આપવો જરૂરી છે.

એની એ આમ તો સાત દિવસની કોવીડ ફરજો પૂરી કરી છે. એ પછી સાત દિવસની ઘર બંધીનું પાલન કરીને હાલમાં ગોત્રી જનરલ હોસ્પિટલના એન.આઇ.સી.યુ.માં તે ફરજો બજાવી રહ્યાં છે. પરંતુ દીકરા એલન ને હજુ જાંબુઘોડામાં નાની પાસે જ રાખ્યો છે.

એની કહે છે કે દર્દીઓની સંખ્યા વધે તો રિપીટ રોટેસન પ્રમાણે ફરીથી કૉવિડની ફરજો બજાવી પડે એટલે હાલમાં હૈયું કઠણ કરીને લાડકવાયા દીકરાને નાનીમા પાસે જ રાખ્યો છે.મારા પતિ પણ નોકરી કરતાં હોવા થી અન્ય કોઈ વિકલ્પ નથી.

દર્દીને સ્વજન ગણીને સેવા સુશ્રુષા કરવી જોઈએ એવી લાગણી વ્યક્ત કરતાં એની જણાવે છે કે દીકરાને દૂર રાખવો પડે એવા સંજોગોમાં ઈમોશનલ થઈ જવાય તો પણ અમે ખંતથી સેવા કરીએ છે. દર્દીને સારવાર સાથે ધરપત આપવાથી એનું મનોબળ વધે છે અને એ ઝડપથી રોગમુક્ત થાય છે. સારવારની સાથે દર્દીના દુઃખને હળવું કરવું એ અમારા વ્યવસાયનો સંકલ્પ છે.

અત્યાર સુધીમાં ગોત્રીની ખાસ કૉવિડ હોસ્પિટલમાં રોટેશન અનુસરીને કુલ 345 સ્ટાફ નર્સ અને બ્રધર્સ દ્વારા સેવાઓ આપવામાં આવી છે. આ અંગે જાણકારી આપતાં ગોત્રી હોસ્પિટલના પ્રવક્તા ડો.શીતલ મિસ્ત્રીએ જણાવ્યું કે અહી ત્રણ શીફટમાં ચોવીસે કલાક નર્સિંગ સ્ટાફ કામ કરે છે અને દરરોજ 78 નર્સિંગ સ્ટાફ ફરજ બજાવે છે. આ પૈકી એક શિફ્ટમાં 16 આઇસીયુ અને આઇસોલેશન વોર્ડમાં અને 10 ઓપીડી અને કવો. ફેસીલિટીમાં સેવા આપે છે.

નર્સિંગ સ્ટાફના સિસ્ટરસની સાથે બ્રધર્સ પણ કાર્યરત છે. ગોત્રી હોસ્પિટલના 325 ઉપરાંત જમનાબાઈ અને મનોરોગ હોસ્પિટલના 25 લોકો હાલમાં અહીં ફરજ પર મૂકવામાં આવ્યા છે.નર્સિંગ એક નોબલ પ્રોફેશન છે. દીકરા વગર એકલવાયા રહી ફરજ બજાવતા એની આ સમગ્ર સમુદાયની સેવા નિષ્ઠાનું ધ્રુવ તારક જેવું ઉદાહરણ છે
