સરોજ કુમારી આઇપીએસ વડોદરા શહેરના વહીવટ અને મુખ્ય મથકના ડીસીપી છે. ઘર તથા ફરજના ભાગરૂપે માતૃભાવે સેવાકીય પ્રવૃત્તિ કરતા સરોજ કુમારી કહે છે કે; તેઓ સાત અને આઠ વર્ષના ભત્રીજા અને ભત્રીજી અને ૭૦ વર્ષથી ઉપરની વયના માતા પિતા સાથે રહે છે.
સરોજકુમારી કહે છે કે તેઓ ઘરમા મહિલા તરીકેની ભૂમિકા નિભાવે છે અને સાથે પોલીસ વહીવટ અને મુખ્ય મથક નાયબ કમિશનર તરીકેની ભૂમિકા પણ નિભાવે છે , તેઓ તેમના સ્ટાફની વ્યક્તિગત કાળજી લેવાના પણ પ્રયાસ કરે છે જેમાં તેમના ખોરાક, પોષક પૂરવણીઓ, PPE કીટ્સ , માસ્ક્સ, સનિટીઝરસ, તબીબી ચેકઅપ દવાઓ, વગેરેનો સમાવેશ હોય છે. તેઓ તેમની ફરજ ક્યાં નિભાવી રહ્યા છે તેની પણ કાળજી લે છે અને સતત સંપર્કમાં રહીને તેની તપાસ રાખે છે.

તેઓ શહેરમાં આવેલા ઘરવિહોણા બાળકોની પણ સંભાળ લે છે અને તેમની"સમજ સ્પર્શની" ટીમ દ્વારા તેમને ખાદ્ય સુવિધાઓ પ્રદાન કરે છે. તેઓએ "પોલીસ કિચન "શરૂ કર્યું છે જ્યાં તેઓ લોક ડાઉન શરુ થયું તે દિવસથી આજ સુધી દરરોજ ૫૦૦ થી વધુ લોકો માટે ભોજન બનાવે છે. તેથી તેઓ કહે છે કે ,મેં એવી સેવાઓ પ્રદાન કરી કે જેને કર્તવ્યના ભાગરૂપે ક્યારેય વિચારી પણ નથી, પરંતુ આજે હું તે બજાવી રહી છું અને તેનાથી આનંદ અનુભવું છું.
