સુપર મૉડલ પદ્મા લક્ષ્મીને અંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય અતર પર ખ્યાતિ મળી છે. એ કેટલીક હિંદી ફિલ્મોમાં પણ નજર આવી જેમાથી બુમ પ્રમુખ છે. આ ફિલ્મથી કેટરીના કૈફએ બૉલીવુડમાં તેમની શરૂઆત કરી હતી.
પદ્મા લક્ષ્મીએ અત્યારે જ ન્યૂયાર્ક ટાઈમ્સમાં સનસનીખેક ખુલાસા કર્યા. તને તેમના અનુભવ શેયર કર્યા છે અને એક બાજુથી me too movement નો પણ ભાગ તેને માનવું જોઈએ.

પદ્મા લક્ષ્મીએ લખ્યું છે કે જ્યારે એ 16 વર્ષની હતી ત્યારે તેમની મુલાકાત લૉસ એંજ્લ્સમાં એક 23 વર્ષીય છોકરાથી થઈ હતી. એ મંસ સ્ટોર્સમાં કામ કરતો હતો. પદ્મા તે સમયે શાળા પછી એક મૉલમાં કામ કરતી હતી. ગ્રે સિલ્ક સૂટમાં તે છોકતો આવ્યો અને પદ્માની સાથે ફલર્ટ કરવા લાગ્યું. પદ્માને એ ચાર્મિંગ અને હેડસમ લાગ્યું અને બન્નેની મિત્રતા થઈ ગઈ. એ પદ્માની માતાથી પણ વાત કરતો હતો. એક વાર પદ્માની અને એ છોકરો એક બીજા પ્રત્યે વધારે જ આકર્ષિત થઈ ગયા .

તેણે કીધું- ત્રણ દશક પહેલા એક ન્યૂ ઈયર પાર્ટીના સમયે હું તેની સાથે હતી. હું થાકી ગઈ હતી અને તેમના જ અપાર્ટમેંટમાં સૂઈ ગઈ. બીજા દિવસે મને ખૂબ જોરથી દુખાવો થયું. આવું લાગ્યું જેમ કે મારા જાંઘના વચ્ચે કોઈએ બ્લેડ માર્યું હોય. એ મારી ઉપર હતો. હું તેનાથી પૂછ્યું કે તુ શું કરી રહ્યો છે. તેણે કીધુ આદુખાવો થોડ સમય માટે હશે.
આ બાબતમાં પદ્મા લક્ષ્મીના પરિવારથી પણ કોઈ સપોર્ટ નહી કર્યો અને પદ્માની હિમ્મત પણ આ વિશે ખુલીને વાત કરવાની નહી થઈ.
