- રામજીને જ્યારે આ જાણ થઈ ત્યારે તેમને ખૂબ દુખ થયુ અને તેમણે સીતાને વનમાં પહોંચાડવાનો નિર્ણય કર્યો. લક્ષ્મણ જ્યારે તેમને વનમાં છોડીને આવ્યા ત્યારે સીતા ગર્ભવતી હતી. ત્યા તે ઋષિ વાલ્મિકીના આશ્રમમાં રહી અને બે પુત્ર લવ અને કુશને જન્મ આપ્યો.
- રામજીએ જ્યારે રાજસૂય યજ્ઞનુ આયોજન કર્યુ તો ત્યા લવ કુશે રામાયણનુ ગાયન કર્યુ. ત્યારે શ્રીરામને અહેસાસ થયો કે સીતા પવિત્ર છે અને તેમણે ઋષિયો સાથે સલાહ કરી ફરી સીતાની પરિક્ષા લેવાનો નિર્ણય કર્યો. સીતાએ તેને સ્વીકારી લીધો.
- સીતાજીએ આ વખતે શરીર છોડવાનો નિર્ણય કરીને ધરતી માતાને પ્રાર્થના કરી. હે મા જો મે ક્યારેય શ્રીરામ સિવાય કોઈને પણ સ્પર્શ ન કર્યો હોય. મારુ સ્ત્રીત્વ ભંગ ન કર્યુ હોય તો મને તમારી અંદર સમાવી લો. ત્યારે ધરતી ફાટે છે અને સીતા તેમા સમાય જાય છે.

- જ્યારે અવતારોનો સમય પુર્ણ થઈ ગયો ત્યારે શ્રી રામને મળવા કાળ આવ્યો. કાળ મતલબ સમયના દેવતા. કાળે શ્રીરામને કહ્યુ કે તેઓ તેમની સાથે કંઈક વાત કરવા માંગે છે અને તે વાત ફક્ત આપણા બંને વચ્ચે રહે આ માટે જે પણ આપણા બંને વચ્ચેની વાત સાંભળે તમે તેનો વધ કરી દેજો.
- રામજીએ કહ્યુ ઠીક છે હુ તમને વચન આપુ છુ આવુ જ થશે. શ્રીરામ લક્ષ્મણને બહાર પહેરો આપવા બેસાડે છે. ત્યારે જ ઋષિ દુર્વાસા આવે છે. તેઓ લક્ષ્મણને કહે છે કે તેઓ શ્રી રામને મળવા માંગે છે. લક્ષ્મણ દુર્વાસાને શાપ આપવાના ભયથી રામજીના કક્ષમાં ગયા અને દુર્વાસા મુનિના આવવાના સમાચાર તેમને આપ્યા. ત્યારબાદ શ્રીરામે પોતાના વચન મુજબ લક્ષ્મણનો પરિત્યાગ કરી દીધો. કોઈ પોતીકાનો પરિત્યાગ કરવો મતલબ તેને મારવા જેવુ જ છે.
- ત્યારબાદ લક્ષ્મણજીએ દુખી થઈને સરયૂ નદીના કિનારે પોતાના પ્રાણ વાયુને રોકી લીધો અને સશરીર સ્વર્ગ જતા રહ્યા. રામજી દુખી થયા. તેમણે લવ કુશનો રાજ્યાભિષેક કર્યો અને થોડા સમય પછી સરયૂ નદીમાં પોતાના પ્રાણ ત્યજી દીધા.
