બીજી તરફ આજવા જળાશયની સપાટી વહેલી સવારે 212.45 ફુટે પહોંચતાં તેમાંથી પાણી છોડાઈ રહ્યું હોવાથી આજે સવારથી શહેરમાં પુરની સ્થિતિ સર્જાય છે ભારે વરસાદના કારણે ચાર દરવાજા, સુભાનપુરા, ગોત્રી, ન્યૂ વીઆઇપી રોડ, રાવપુરા, વાસણારોડ, સયાજીગંજ, અલકાપુરી, માંજલપુર, કારેલીબાગ, વાઘોડીયા રોડ સહિતના તમામ વિસ્તારોમાં પાણી પાણી છે.

જ્યારે કલેક્ટરે લોકોને કામ સિવાય ઘરની બહાર નહીં નીકળવા અને કોઇ રસ્તા પર પાણીનો ભરાવો લાગે તો પસાર નહીં થવા અપીલ કરી છે. હવામાન ખાતાના જણાવ્યાનુસાર આગામી ચોવીસ કલાકમાં હજી ભારે વરસાદની આગાહી છે.

આજવા સરોવરમાંથી હાલ પાણી છોડવામાં આવી રહ્યું છે અને 62 દરવાજા ખોલવામાં આવ્યા છે, તેનું લેવલ 212.50 છે.જ્યારે વિશ્વામિત્રી નદીનું લેવલ 34 ફૂટ છે અને શહેરના તમામ 6 બ્રીજને બંધ કરી દેવાય છે. સાથે જ વડોદરા મહાનગરપાલિકા દ્વારા લોકોને બહાર જવા પર મનાઈ ફરમાવી છે. જ્યારે વડોદરાની તમામ સ્કૂલો અને કોલેજોને બંધ રાખવામાં આવી છે.

વડોદરા શહેરમાં 16 કલાકમાં 20 ઇંચ વરસાદ ખાબકતા સ્માર્ટ સિટી જળબંબાકાર બની ગયું હતું. બીજી તરફ આજવા જળાશયની સપાટી મોડી રાત્રે 211.20 ફુટે પહોંચતાં તેમાંથી પાણી છોડવામાં આવતાં ગુરૂવારે સવારે શહેરમાં પુરની સ્થિતિ સર્જાય તેવી તેવી સંભાવના ઉભી થવા પામી છે.

બીજી તરફ વિશ્વામિત્રીની સપાટી રાત્રે 28.50 ફુટે પહોંચતાં નિચાણવાળા વિસ્તારમાંથી લોકોનું સ્થળાંતર શરૂ કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું અને મોડી રાત સુધીમાં 350 લોકોને સુરક્ષીત જગ્યાએ ખસેડાયા હતા. મેઘરાજાની તોફાની બેટિંગના કારણે રાજમાર્ગો પર તેમજ લોકોના ઘરોમાં બે થી ત્રણ ફુટ પાણી ભરાયા હતા. બાજવા ખાતે એક મકાનની દિવાલ ધરાશઇ થતાં ચાર લોકોના મોત નિપજ્યાં હતા,

જ્યારે એક મહીલાને ગંભીર ઇંજા પહોંચી હતી. તો વડસર બ્રિજ નીચે કરંટ લાગવાના કારણે એક 17 વર્ષના કિશોરનું મોત નિપજ્યું હતું અને ગોરવા વિસ્તારમાં ગટરમાં પડી જવાના કારણે પણ એકનું મોત નિપજ્યું હતું.

ખાસ કરીને સાંજના સમયે ઓફિસથી હજારોની સંખ્યામાં લોકો ઘરે જવા નિકળ્યા તે સમયે મોટાભાગના રોડ પર વરસાદી પાણી ફરી વળતા હજારો લોકો ફસાઇ ગયા હતા અને તમામ રોડ પર ટ્રાફિકજામના દ્રશ્યો સર્જાયા હતા.

મોડી રાત્રે શહેરમાં સ્થિતિ ગંભીર બનતા આર્મીની બે કુમક બોલાવવામાં આવી હતી. ઉલ્લેખનીય છે કે, વર્ષ 2005માં વડોદરા શહેરમાં એક જ દિવસમાં 12 ઇંચ વરસાદ પડતાં સમગ્ર શહેરમાં જળબંબાકાર સર્જાયો હતો
