અમદાવાદમાં તાજેતરમાં BRTS દ્વારા થયેલ અકસ્માતમાં યુવાનોના થયેલ મૃત્યુ સંદર્ભે રાજ્ય સરકાર અત્યંત સંવેદનશીલ છે. અમદાવાદ-સુરતમાં અકસ્માત અને ટ્રાફિક નિયમન માટે એક અલાયદી કમીટીની રચના કરવાનો રાજ્ય સરકારે નિર્ણય કર્યો હોવાનું ગૃહ રાજ્ય મંત્રી પ્રદિપસિંહ જાડેજાએ જણાવ્યું હતું. અમદાવાદ શહેરમાં થતાં અકસ્માતો તથા ટ્રાફિક નિયમન માટે મહેસૂલ મંત્રી કૌશિકભાઇ પટેલ, મેયર બિજલબેન પટેલ સહિત અમદાવાદના ધારાસભ્યો, અને પોલીસ તથા વાહન વ્યવહાર વિભાગના ઉચ્ચ અધિકારીઓની ઉચ્ચસ્તરીય બેઠક મળી હતી. જેમાં વિસ્તૃત ચર્ચા વિચારણા કરાઇ હતી.

બેઠક બાદ મીડિયા સાથેની વાતચીતમાં ગૃહ રાજ્ય મંત્રી પ્રદિપસિંહ જાડેજાએ જણાવ્યું હતું કે, વિજય રૂપાણીએ પણ BRTSના અકસ્માતથી મૃત્યુ પામેલ યુવાનો માટે દુઃખની લાગણી વ્યક્ત કરી છે અને આ માટે નક્કર પ્રયાસો હાથ ધરવા સૂચના આપી છે જેના સંદર્ભે આ બેઠકનું આયોજન કરવામાં આવ્યુ હતું. અમદાવાદ શહેરમાં ટ્રાફિક-નિયમન માટે અમદાવાદ પોલીસ કમિશનરના અધ્યક્ષે તથા મ્યુનિસિપલ કમિશનરના ઉપાધ્યક્ષ પદે કમીટીની રચના કરાશે. જેમાં ટ્રાન્સપોર્ટ કમિશનર, સીટી એન્જીનીયર, જોઇન્ટ પોલીસ કમિશનર(ટ્રાફિક) સભ્યો તરીકે રહેશે. આ કમીટી દર પંદર દિવસે મળશે અને તે મુજબની કામગીરી કરશે.

અમદાવાદ શહેરમાં ટ્રાફિકનું ભારણ ઘટે અને BRTS દ્વારા અકસ્માત ન થાય તે માટે પૂરતું ધ્યાન કેન્દ્રિત કરાશે. સમગ્ર BRTS કોરીડોરને CCTVથી વધુ સુસજજ કરાશે. BRTS ટ્રેક પર ખાનગી વાહનો જે ઘૂસી જાય છે એ સંદર્ભે પણ કોગ્નીઝેબલ ગુનો ગણીને દંડનીય કાર્યવાહી કરાશે અને ધરપકડ પણ કરવામાં આવશે. BRTSના ખાનગી સંચાલકો દ્વારા વર્કલોડના કારણે ડ્રાઇવરોને નિશ્ચિત સમયમાં પહોંચવાનું હોય છે જેના કારણે ગતિ વધુ હોય છે. તેમ છતાંય બસોની ગતિ મર્યાદા બાંધી દેવાઇ છે તેનો સુરતમાં પણ આગામી સમયમાં અમલ કરાશે.
અમદાવાદ શહેરની BRTSનો સમગ્ર કોરીડોર CCTV થી સુસજ્જ છે જ પરંતુ નબળી લેન્ડવીથના કારણે તેના વીડિયો ગુણવત્તાલક્ષી મળતા નથી. આ માટે પણ સત્વરે કામગીરી કરાશે અને સમગ્ર કોરીડોરને ઉચ્ચ પ્રકારની સુવીધાથી સજ્જ કરી દેવાશે. BRTSના સમગ્ર માર્ગ પર જ્યાં જરૂર હશે ત્યાં સ્પીડ બ્રેકર મૂકવા માટેની પણ વિચારણા કરાઇ છે. તે સંદર્ભે પણ આગામી સમયમાં વ્યવસ્થા ગોઠવવાનું અમારુ આયોજન છે. BRTSના જે સંભવિત અકસ્માતના સ્થળો છે તે સ્થળોની આવતીકાલે ગૃહમંત્રી શ્રી જાડેજા સ્થળ મુલાકાત લેનાર છે તેમની સાથે અધિકારીઓ પણ જોડાશે.
મહેસૂલ મંત્રી કૌશિક પટેલે જણાવ્યું છે કે, BRTS દ્વારા થતા અકસ્માતો સંદર્ભે રાજ્ય સરકાર સંપૂર્ણ સંવેદનાથી કામ કરે છે. કોઇપણ વ્યક્તિને મહામૂલી જિંદગી ગુમાવવી ન પડે તે માટે ટ્રાફિક નિયમનની વ્યવસ્થાઓ છે. તેને વધુ સુદ્રઢ બનાવીને આ માટે કાયમી વ્યવસ્થાઓ ઉભી થાય તે માટે જરૂરી સૂચનો કરવામાં આવ્યા છે. તેમણે ઉમેર્યુ કે શહેરમાં ટ્રાફિકનું નિયમન પદ્ધતિસરનું થાય તે માટે પણ સઘન આયોજન કરવું જોઇએ તથા નવા વિકાસના કામો હાથ ધરવામાં આવે ત્યારે ટ્રાફિકને અડચણ ન થાય તે મુજબના આયોજન કરવા પણ તેમણે ભારપૂર્વક જણાવ્યુ હતું.
આ બેઠકમાં શહેરના ધારાસભ્યો, મ્યુનિસિપાલિટીના પદાધિકારીઓએ BRTS કોરિડોરમાં સુધારાઓ, ટ્રાફિક નિયમન કરવા માટે તથા ટ્રાફિકની સમસ્યાઓનું સત્વરે નિરાકરણ કરવા માટે જરૂરી સૂચનો કર્યા હતા. એ સંદર્ભે અધિકારીઓએ પણ તેનું સત્વરે નિરાકરણ લાવવા તત્પરતા દર્શાવી હતી.
