કાર્તિકમાસના કૃષ્ણપક્ષની ત્રયોદશીને ધનતેરસ અને અમાવસ્યાને દિવાળીનો પર્વ ઉજવાય છે. આ બન્ને જ દિવસ ધન સંબંધી ઉપાય કરવા માટે સ્વયં સિદ્ધિ મૂહૂર્ત છે. આ વખતે ધનતેરસ 5 નવેમ્બરે સોમવારે અને દિવાળી 7 નવેમ્બર બુધવારે છે. ધનતેરસના દિવસે દેવતાઓના કોષાધ્યક્ષ કુબેરદેવ અને દિવાળી પર ધની દેવી લક્ષ્મીની પૂજા કરાય છે.

એવું માનવું છે કે ધનતેરસ અને દિવાળીના દિવસે કરેલ દાન,હવન, પૂજન અને ઉપાયોના ફળ અક્ષય(સંપૂર્ણ) હોય છે. તંત્ર શાસ્ત્ર મુજબ જો આ દિવસે કેટલાક ખાસ ઉપાય કરાય કે કેટલાક ખાસ વસ્તુઓને ઘરમાં રખાય તો માતા લક્ષ્મી પ્રસન્ન હોય છે અને ઉપાય કરવા વાળાને માલામાલ પણ કરી શકે છે.

1. ધનતેરસ કે દિવાળીની સાંજે માતા લક્ષ્મીની વિધિ-વિધાનથી પૂજા કરો અને ત્યારબાદ માતા લક્ષ્મીના ચરણોમાં સાત લક્ષ્મીકારક કોડીઓ મૂકો. અડ્ધી રાત પછી આ કોડીઓને ઘરન્ના કોઈ ખૂણામાં દબાવી દો. આ પ્રયોગથી તરત જ આર્થિક ઉન્નતિ થવાના યોગ બનશે

6. ધનતેરસ કે દિવાળીની સાંજે ઘરના ઈશાન ખૂણમાં ગાયને ઘીનો દીપક લગાડો. દીવેટમાં રૂની જગ્યા લાલ રંગના દોરાનો ઉપયોગ કરો. સાથે જ દીવામાં થોડી કેસર પણ નાખો આ ઉપાયથી પણ ધનનો આગમન થવા લાગે છે.
