સોમવાર 31 માર્ચથી ચૈત્રી નવરાત્રિનો પ્રારંભ થઈ રહ્યો છે. આ દિવસથી સતત નવ દિવસ સુધી લોકો માતાની આરાધના અને ભક્તિમાં લીન થઈ જશે. કહેવાય છે કે ચૈત્રી સંવત્સસરનો રાજા અને પ્રધાન શુક્ર હોવાથી કેરીનો વિપુલ પાક થાય છે અને વરસાદ પણ સારો પડે છે. ચૈત્રી નવરાત્રીનું જેટલુ ધાર્મિક મહત્વ છે તેટલુ જ આયુર્વૈદિક દ્રષ્ટિએ પણ મહત્વ છે.

ચૈત્રી નવરાત્રી વિશે આરોગ્‍ય અને આયુર્વેદને ધ્‍યાનમાં રાખી વૈદ્ય મુકેશભાઇ ગૌદાણી જણાવે છે કે, આખા વર્ષનું સ્‍વાસ્‍થ્‍ય જાળવવા માટે, કફ, જ્‍વર, ફ્‍લુનો પ્રકોપ ઓછો કરવા ચૈત્ર મહિનામાં કડવા લીમડાનું ઘણું મહત્ત્વ છે. કડવા લીમડાનો મોર ખાઇ શકાય. કૂણા પાનનો રસ ચારથી પાંચ ચમચી લઇ શકાય. આ નવ દિવસમાં ઘણાં લોકો અલૂણાં વ્રત કરે છે. એટલે કે મીઠું લેતાં નથી કારણ કે આ સમય દરમિયાન લવણ રસ, ખારાશને કારણે કફ વધે છે.
