ઇંગ્લૅન્ડ સામે રવિવારે હારી ગયા બાદ વિરાટ કોહલીની ટીમ કોઈ જોખમ લીધા વિના મંગળવારે બાંગ્લાદેશ સામે વિજય હાંસલ કરીને આઈસીસી વન-ડે ક્રિકેટ વર્લ્ડ કપની સેમિફાઇનલમાં પ્રવેશ કરવાનું પસંદ કરશે.
રવિવારના પરિણામ બાદ ભારતના ભાવિ પર તો ખાસ અસર પડી નથી, પરંતુ ભારતીય ટીમ છેલ્લી મૅચની રાહ જોયા વિના જ બાંગ્લાદેશ સામે જીતીને સેમિફાઇનલ પ્રવેશ નિશ્ચિત કરી લેવા ઇચ્છશે.બાંગ્લાદેશ માટે આ મૅચ અત્યંત મહત્ત્વની છે કેમ કે, ભારતના પરાજય બાદ પાકિસ્તાન અને બાંગ્લાદેશ સામે વધુ જોખમ પેદા થયું છે.
જોકે, બાંગ્લાદેશ સાવ ફેંકાઈ ગયું નથી, પરંતુ તેમને બાકીની બંને મૅચ જીતવી ફરજિયાત બની ગઈ છે.
બાંગ્લાદેશે હવે ભારત અને પાકિસ્તાન બંનેને હરાવવા તો પડશે જ, પરંતુ ત્યારબાદ પણ તેમણે ન્યૂઝીલૅન્ડ જીતી જાય તેવી આશા રાખવાની છે.

વર્લ્ડ નંબર-વન ઑલરાઉન્ડરે અફઘાનિસ્તાન સામે અડધી સદી ફટકાર્યા બાદ પાંચ વિકેટ પણ ઝડપી હતી.
આ ટૂર્નામેન્ટમાં તેઓ બે સદી અને ત્રણ અડધી સદી સાથે 476 રન નોંધાવીને ત્રીજા ક્રમે છે. તેઓ બૉલિંગમાં દસ વિકેટ લઈ ચૂક્યા છે.
બાંગ્લાદેશે આ વર્લ્ડ કપમાં જેટલી સફળતા હાંસલ કરી છે તે તમામમાં સાકીબનો ફાળો રહ્યો છે. મુશ્ફીકૂર રહીમ અને તમિમ ઇકબાલનું યોગદાન પણ અમૂલ્ય રહ્યું છે.
બૉલિંગમાં સાકીબ ઉપરાંત મુસ્તાફિઝુર રહેમાન અને મોહમ્મદ સૈફુદ્દીને પણ 10-10 વિકેટ લીધી છે. આ તમામ ખેલાડી ભારત સામે મુશ્કેલી સર્જી શકે છે.
ભારતની સમસ્યા અંતિમ ઓવર્સમાં મિડલ ઓર્ડરની બેટિંગ છે.
ધોની છેલ્લી ઓવર્સમાં આક્રમક બેટિંગ માટે જાણીતા છે અને તે શ્રેષ્ઠ ફિનિશર છે, પરંતુ વર્તમાન ફોર્મ તેની પ્રતિષ્ઠાને અનુરૂપ રહ્યું નથી. તેઓ દરેક મૅચમાં ધીમી બેટિંગ કરી રહ્યા છે અને આ જ કારણે ટીકાપાત્ર બન્યા છે.
આ ઉપરાંત ઈજાની સમસ્યા પણ ભારતીય ટીમને સતાવી રહી છે. શિખર ધવન ઘાયલ થયા તો તેમના સ્થાને રિષભ પંત ઇંગ્લૅન્ડ પહોંચ્યાં, જ્યાં તેમણે યજમાન દેશ સામે રમવાનું આવ્યું. 338 રનના જંગી લક્ષ્યાંક સામે પંત પાસેથી 29 બૉલમાં 32 રન કરતાં વધારે અપેક્ષા હતી. ધવન બાદ હવે વિજય શંકર પણ ઘાયલ થયા છે અને તેમને સ્થાને મયંક અગ્રવાલને મોકલાયા છે, પરંતુ તે મંગળવારે રમે તેવી શક્યતા ઓછી છે.
