કબીર સિંહ ફિલ્મ અંગે આટલો કકળાટ કેમ?

'હું ઇન્ટરવલ છોડીને નીકળી ગઈ', 'કબીર સિંહ તાજેતરમાં રજૂ થયેલી ફિલ્મોમાં સૌથી ખરાબ ફિલ્મ છે', 'આ ફિલ્મ મહિલાઓ માટે જરા પણ નથી.' છેલ્લા એક અઠવાડિયા દરમિયાન 'કબીર સિંહ' વિશે એટલું વાંચ્યું અને સાંભળ્યું તો એવું લાગ્યું કે 'આરોપી' ફિલ્મને કોર્ટમાં રજૂ કરવામાં આવી હોય અને તેને સજા સંભળાવવામાં આવી છે.

જોકે, લખતાં પહેલાં એક વાત કહી દઉં કે 'હા, હું શાહિદ કપૂરની ખૂબ મોટી ફેન છું' અને એ પણ ટીનેજર હતી ત્યારથી.

તેની પહેલી ફિલ્મ 'ઇશ્ક વિશ્ક' જોઈને મને કદાચ તેમની સાથે 'લવ એટ ફર્સ્ટ સાઇટ' થઈ ગયો, ટીનએજ દરમિયાન કદાચ એ સ્વાભાવિક પણ હતું.

'ફર્સ્ટ ડે, ફર્સ્ટ શો' નહીં

મોટા ભાગે હું શાહિદ કપૂરની ફિલ્મોને 'ફર્સ્ટ ડે, ફર્સ્ટ શો' જોવાની ટ્રાયમાં જ હોઉ છું, પરંતુ આ વખતે અનિવાર્ય સંજોગોને કારણે કબીર સિંહ ન જોઈ શકી, તો આખો દિવસ અકથનીય બેચેની લાગતી રહી. બીજા દિવસે સવારે પહેલો શો જોવા જાઉં તે પહેલાં સોશિયલ મીડિયા ટાઇમલાઇન પર તથા મીડિયા હાઉસના પૅજીસ પર રિવ્યૂ દેખાવા મળ્યા.

જ્યાં પણ જોયું કે વાંચ્યું, કબીર સિંહ માટે નકારાત્મક વાતો જ સાંભળવા મળી રહી હતી.

કબીર સિંહ તેલુગુ ફિલ્મ 'અર્જુન રેડ્ડી'ની ફ્રેમ-ટુ-ફ્રેમ કોપી હોવાનું વાંચ્યું છે. (જોકે, શાહીદ કપુરની સાથે અજાણતા જ સરખામણી ન થઈ જાય તે માટે મેં એ ફિલ્મ નથી જોઈ.)

જ્યારે એ ફિલ્મ રજૂ થઈ ત્યારે તેલંગણા તથા આંધ્ર પ્રદેશમાં પણ આ પ્રકારની ચર્ચા જાગી હોવાનું વાંચ્યું હતું, એટલે કબીર સિંહની રિલીઝ પછી પણ એવા જ પ્રકારની ચર્ચાથી ખાસ આશ્ચર્ય ન થયું.

એ વાતમાં કોઈ શંકા નથી કે આ ફિલ્મ સરેરાશ ભારતીય પરિવારો સાથે બેસીને માણી શકે એવી નથી. ફિલ્મમાં કેટલીક એવી બાબતો અને દૃશ્યો છે, જે સરેરાશ દર્શકને વાંધાજનક લાગી શકે છે.

સજ્જન 'સંજુ' અને કબીર સિંહ

લોકોને લાગે છે કે ફિલ્મ જોઈને સમાજ પર ખરાબ અસર પડશે. પણ સવાલ છે કે શું આપણો સમાજ એટલો અણસમજુ છે કે એક ફિલ્મ જોઈને તે બગડી જશે?

આ પહેલી એવી ફિલ્મ નથી કે જેમાં દારૂ, ડ્રગ્સ અને મહિલાઓ પ્રત્યે પુરુષોના 'પઝેસિવ નૅચર'નું ક્ષતિપૂર્ણ નિરૂપણ કરવામાં આવ્યું હોય.

કબીર સિંહ એ દિગ્દર્શકના ભેજાનું એક કાલ્પનિક પાત્ર છે, જેને શાહીદ કપૂરે પડદા ઉપર ભજવ્યું છે. જો તેના પ્રત્યે નફરત જાગે તો તે શાહીદની અભિનય ક્ષમતા તથા નિર્દેશકના પાત્ર નિરુપણને 'સર્ટિફિકેટ' જ ગણી શકાય.

મને યાદ આવે છે કે ગત વર્ષે આ જ અરસામાં એક ફિલ્મ આવી હતી 'સંજુ' જે ફિલ્મ અભિનેતા સંજય દત્તની આત્મકથા જેવી ફિલ્મ છે.કબીર સિંહની જેમ જ 'સંજુ' શરાબ પીવે છે અને ડ્રગ્સ લે છે. કેટલીક મહિલાઓ સાથે સેક્સ કર્યું તેની ગણતરી રાખે છે અને જાણે તે 'સ્કોરકાર્ડ' હોય તે રીતે જાહેરમાં તેના વિશે બડાઈઓ પણ મારે છે.

સંજુ ઉપર ત્રાસવાદીઓ સાથેના સંબંધના આરોપ છે અને હથિયારધારાના કેસમાં ગુનેગાર ઠર્યો છે, છતાં તે 'સજ્જન' છે.ફિલ્મ કબીર સિંહને એક ફિલ્મ તરીકે શા માટે નથી જોવાઈ રહી? શા માટે સમાજને સુધારવાનો અને સમાજને યોગ્ય રાહ બતાવવાનો બધો જ ભાર આ ફિલ્મ પર નાખી દેવામાં આવ્યો છે?

જો કોઈને ઉપદેશ જ જોઈતો હોય તો ધાર્મિક પ્રવચનો ચાલે જ છે, એમાં પણ ઘણાં તો ફ્રી હોય છે.

જો દર્શક 300-500 રૂપિયાની ટિકિટ લઈને 'કબીર સિંહ' જોવા જતો હોય તો તેને ખબર જ છે કે તે કઈ ફિલ્મ જોવા જઈ રહ્યો છે અને તેનું કન્ટેન્ટ શું છે. એક રીતે તે માનસિક રીતે તૈયાર અને સજ્જ હોય છે.

તેની પાસે ભારતીય સિનેમામાં નૈતિકતાના રખેવાળ એવા સેન્સર બૉર્ડનું 'A' સર્ટિફિકેટ પણ છે. મતલબ કે દર્શક 'પુખ્ત' છે. જે ઉંમરે તમે દેશની સરકાર પસંદ કરવાની લાયકાત મળે છે, એ ઉંમરે ફિલ્મ સારી છે કે ખરાબ તે નિર્ણય લેવાની સમજ આવી જ જાય છે.

આ કંઈ તમારો મોબાઈલ નથી જેમાં Recommended For Youમાં આવી જાય અને તમને પસંદ ન હોય તેવી સામગ્રી પીરસી દે. હાલ વેબ સિરીઝનો જમાનો ચાલી રહ્યો છે. જેમાં કોઈ ગેમ Sacred નથી, જ્યાં જુઓ ત્યાં 'ગંદી બાત' Lust Storiesની ભરમાર છે. શું આ બધી સિરીઝ સમાજસુધારણાનું કામ કરી રહી છે?

જો આ બધી વેબ સિરીઝ માત્ર મનોરંજન ખાતર જોવાતી હોય, આવી ફિલ્મોને માત્ર મનોરંજનનું માધ્યમ ગણી શકાય, તો પછી ફિલ્મ કબીર સિંહને સમાજ સુધારક તરીકે કેમ જોવા માગો છો?

દરેકમાં 'કબીર સિંહ'

ફિલ્મમાં હોળીનું દૃશ્ય આવે છે કે જેમાં રંગ લગાવવા મામલે કબીર સિંહ એક વ્યક્તિને ખૂબ માર માર્યો. જો તમે તમારી પ્રેમિકા કે પત્ની સાથે ક્યાંક જઈ રહ્યા છો, અને કોઈ તેમની છેડતી કરી દે તો શું તમે ચૂપ રહેશો કે જે વ્યક્તિએ છેડતી કરી છે તેને થોડો કે વધારે ગુસ્સો બતાવશો?

તેને પ્રતિક્રિયા આપશો? મને લાગે છે કે આવી સ્થિતિમાં દરેક પુરુષ 'કબીર સિંહ' જ બની જાય.

તે મહિલાની શક્તિને જાણે છે, તો તે એ તકલીફને પણ જાણે છે કે જેના વિશે સમાજમાં કોઈ ખુલ્લીને વાત કરતું નથી. એ તકલીફ છે પિરિયડ્સની તકલીફ. કબીર સિંહ જણાવે છે કે છોકરીના પીરિયડ્સ દરમિયાન તેમને કેવા પ્રકારનો પ્રેમ મળવો જોઈએ. પરંતુ આ વાત આપણી આસપાસના છોકરા નહીં સમજે.

આપણી આસપાસના છોકરાઓને છોકરીનું બૅગ તેના ખભા પરથી ઉતારતા નથી આવડતું. કબીર સિંહ આંસૂ લૂંછે છે, બૅગ સંભાળે છે. આ બધું પ્રેમ છે. મેં તો એવું પણ જોયું છે કે પુરુષો તો છોકરીનું બૅગ પકડવાને શરમનું કામ સમજે છે.

કબીર જ 'આદર્શ પુરુષ' કેમ?

કબીરની અંદર ઘણા છોકરાની છબી ઊભી થાય છે કે જેઓ છોકરીને પોતાની 'જાગીર કે પ્રોપર્ટી' સમજે છે, માત્ર રસોઈ અને ઘરકામ કરનારી સ્ત્રી તરીકે જુએ છે. આ જ કારણોથી આપણને કબીરનું ફેમિનિઝમ, કબીરનો પ્રેમ, કબીરનો જીવન જીવવાનો દૃષ્ટિકોણ દેખાતો નથી.

એટલે આપણે કબીરને આપણાં માપદંડો પર ખરો ઊતરે એવા એક 'આદર્શ પુરુષ' તરીકે જોવા માગતા હતા.

આપણે કહીએ છીએ કે ફિલ્મો સમાજનું દર્પણ હોય છે. પરંતુ ખરેખર ફિલ્મો સમાજનું દર્પણ નહીં, પણ સમાજનો અક્સ હોય છે. સમાજના એ અક્સને ફિલ્મો તમારી સામે પીરસી દે છે, તો લોકો થોડા અસહજ થઈ જાય છે, પરંતુ આજુબાજુમાં એક નજર કરશો તો, અનેક 'કબીર સિંહ' મળી જશે.

કબીર સિંહ દરેક વ્યક્તિમાં મળી જ રહે છે. મારા પોતાના જીવનમાં પણ ઘણા બધા 'કબીર સિંહ' છે.

કદાચ એટલે જ સંત કબીરે કહ્યું હતું :

बुरा जो देखन मैं चला, बुरा न मिलिया कोय,

जो दिल खोजा आपना, मुझसे बुरा न कोय।
