સાબરમતીને કાંઠે વસેલું શહેર એટલે અમદાવાદ. આઝાદીની જ્યાંથી શરૂઆત થઈ હતી એ ગાંધી આશ્રમ પણ અમદાવાદમાં આવેલો છે. અમદાવાદ એટલે એક વખતના બ્રિટનના માન્ચેસ્ટરની ઓળખ ધરાવતું શહેર. માન્ચેસ્ટરથી માંડીને યુનેસ્કોએ જુલાઈ, 2017માં દેશના પહેલા યુનેસ્કો વર્લ્ડ હેરિટેજ સિટીની ઓળખ ધરાવતું શહેર એટલે અમદાવાદ. વિશ્વનું સૌથી મોટું સ્ટેડિયમ ધરાવતું શહેર એટલે અમદાવાદ. અમદાવાદનું બીજું નામ છે સેલિબ્રેશન. ઉજવણી કરવા માટે અમદાવાદીઓને બસ મોકો જોઈએ. આજે આપણા અમદાવાદને 608 વર્ષ પૂરા થવા જઈ રહ્યા છે. યુનેસ્કો પાસેથી વર્લ્ડ હેરિટેજ સિટીનો દરજ્જો મેળવ્યા પછી આખી દુનિયામાં

અમદાવાદની આગવી ઓળખ બની ગઈ છે. ઈન્ડો ઈસ્લામિક બાંધકામ થકી અમદાવાદે તોતિંગ ઈમારતો ધરાવતા આધુનિક શહેરો વચ્ચે પોતાની ઓળખ બનાવી છે. એક સમયે માન્ચેસ્ટર ઑફ ઈસ્ટ તરીકે ઓળખાતુ અમદાવાદ આજે નવા ભારતના ઝડપથી ઉભરતા શહેરોમાંનું એક છે. ઉદ્યોગ, શિક્ષણથી માંડીને ઈન્ફ્રાસ્ટ્રક્ચર સુધી, આપણું અમદાવાદ આટલા વર્ષોમાં ખાસ્સુ બદલાઈ ગયું છે. આ શહેરમાં અનેક લોકો પેઢીઓથી અહીં જ રહે છે તો બહારથી આવેલા પણ એવા અનેક લોકો છે જેમણે આ શહેરને પોતાનું ઘર બનાવી લીધુ છે. આજે આપણા અમદાવાદનો જન્મદિવસ છે. જાણો અમદાવાદીઓ આ શહેર વિષે શું માને છે.ગુજરાતનું સૌથી મોટું શહેર અને જૂનું પાટનગર એટલે અમદાવાદ. અમદાવાદની વસતિ 2011ની વસતિ ગણતરી મુજબ પાંચ સાડાપાંચ કરોડની (હાલ અંદાજે સાડા છ કરોડ), જે દેશના સૌથી મોટાં પાંચ શહેરોમાં સૌથી વધુ ધરાવતાં શહેરોમાંનું એક. દેશમાં અમદાવાદ રાજકીય અને સંસ્કૃતિ કેન્દ્રબિંદુ છે. દેશમાં આર્થિક અને ઔદ્યોગિક કામકાજનું હબ અમદાવાદ ગણાતું હતું અને હજી પણ ગણાય છે. દેશમાં હાલ પણ સૌથી બીજા નંબરનું કપાસ ઉત્પાદક મથક અમદાવાદ છે.જબ કુત્તે પે સસ્સા આયા તબ બાદશાહને અહમદાબાદ બસાયા. અમદાવાદની સાથે આ કહેવત જોડાયેલી છે. અમદાવાદનો આજે 609મો સ્થાપના દિવસ છે. ઈ.સ..1411માં સુલતાન અહમદશાહે અમદાવાદ શહેર વસાવ્યું હતું. અહમદશાહે જ્યારે અમદાવાદ વસાવ્યુ હતું ત્યારે શહેરમાં એક ડઝન દરવાજા હતા અને તેની ફરતે કોટ હતો. જેની વચ્ચે અમદાવાદ કેદ હતુ. સમય જતાં અમદાવાદનો વિકાસ કિલ્લા પૂરતો નહીં પણ ચોમેર થયો છે, જેના પરિણામે આજે અમદાવાદ જૂનું અમદાવાદ એટલેકે કોટ વિસ્તાર અને નવું અમદાવાદ પશ્ચિમ વિસ્તારમાં વહેંચાય ગયો છે. અમદાવાદની શાન ગણાતાં દરવાજાઓ આજે પણ અડીખમ ઉભા છે, જે અમદાવાદના ભવ્ય ભૂતકાળના યાદ તાજી કરાવે છે.

અમદાવાદની આગવી ઓળખ બની ગઈ છે. ઈન્ડો ઈસ્લામિક બાંધકામ થકી અમદાવાદે તોતિંગ ઈમારતો ધરાવતા આધુનિક શહેરો વચ્ચે પોતાની ઓળખ બનાવી છે. એક સમયે માન્ચેસ્ટર ઑફ ઈસ્ટ તરીકે ઓળખાતુ અમદાવાદ આજે નવા ભારતના ઝડપથી ઉભરતા શહેરોમાંનું એક છે. ઉદ્યોગ, શિક્ષણથી માંડીને ઈન્ફ્રાસ્ટ્રક્ચર સુધી, આપણું અમદાવાદ આટલા વર્ષોમાં ખાસ્સુ બદલાઈ ગયું છે. આ શહેરમાં અનેક લોકો પેઢીઓથી અહીં જ રહે છે તો બહારથી આવેલા પણ એવા અનેક લોકો છે જેમણે આ શહેરને પોતાનું ઘર બનાવી લીધુ છે. આજે આપણા અમદાવાદનો જન્મદિવસ છે. જાણો અમદાવાદીઓ આ શહેર વિષે શું માને છે.ગુજરાતનું સૌથી મોટું શહેર અને જૂનું પાટનગર એટલે અમદાવાદ. અમદાવાદની વસતિ 2011ની વસતિ ગણતરી મુજબ પાંચ સાડાપાંચ કરોડની (હાલ અંદાજે સાડા છ કરોડ), જે દેશના સૌથી મોટાં પાંચ શહેરોમાં સૌથી વધુ ધરાવતાં શહેરોમાંનું એક. દેશમાં અમદાવાદ રાજકીય અને સંસ્કૃતિ કેન્દ્રબિંદુ છે. દેશમાં આર્થિક અને ઔદ્યોગિક કામકાજનું હબ અમદાવાદ ગણાતું હતું અને હજી પણ ગણાય છે. દેશમાં હાલ પણ સૌથી બીજા નંબરનું કપાસ ઉત્પાદક મથક અમદાવાદ છે.જબ કુત્તે પે સસ્સા આયા તબ બાદશાહને અહમદાબાદ બસાયા. અમદાવાદની સાથે આ કહેવત જોડાયેલી છે. અમદાવાદનો આજે 609મો સ્થાપના દિવસ છે. ઈ.સ..1411માં સુલતાન અહમદશાહે અમદાવાદ શહેર વસાવ્યું હતું. અહમદશાહે જ્યારે અમદાવાદ વસાવ્યુ હતું ત્યારે શહેરમાં એક ડઝન દરવાજા હતા અને તેની ફરતે કોટ હતો. જેની વચ્ચે અમદાવાદ કેદ હતુ. સમય જતાં અમદાવાદનો વિકાસ કિલ્લા પૂરતો નહીં પણ ચોમેર થયો છે, જેના પરિણામે આજે અમદાવાદ જૂનું અમદાવાદ એટલેકે કોટ વિસ્તાર અને નવું અમદાવાદ પશ્ચિમ વિસ્તારમાં વહેંચાય ગયો છે. અમદાવાદની શાન ગણાતાં દરવાજાઓ આજે પણ અડીખમ ઉભા છે, જે અમદાવાદના ભવ્ય ભૂતકાળના યાદ તાજી કરાવે છે.
