ચાર કારણ જેના માટે વગાડવી જોઈએ મંદિરની ઘંટડી
1. માનવું છે કે ઘંટડી વગાડવાથી મંદિરમાં સ્થાપિત દેવી દેવતાઓની મૂર્તિઓમાં ચેતના જાગૃત હોય છે જે પછી તેમની પૂજા અને આરાધના વધારે ફળદાયક અને પ્રભાવશાળી બની જાય છે.
2. ઘંટડીની કર્ણપ્રિય ધ્વનિથી મન મગજને અધ્યાત્મભાવની તરફ લઈ જવાનો સામર્થય રાખે છે. સવારે અને સાંજે જ્યારે પણ મંદિરમાં પૂજા કે આરતી હોય છે તો એક લય અને ખાસ ધુનની સાથે ઘંટડી વગાય છે. તેનાથી શાંતિ અને દેવીય ઉપસ્થિતિની અનુભૂતિ હોય છે.
3. જ્યારે સૃષ્ટિની શરૂઆત થઈ ત્યારે નાદ(આવાજ) ગૂંજી હતી એ આવાજ ઘંટી વગાડતા પર આવે છે.
4. મંદિરની બહાર લાગેલી ઘંટડી કે ઘંટા કાળનો પ્રતીક ગણાય છે. માન્યતાઓમાં પ્રલયથી બચવા માટે પણ ઘંટડી વગાડવી જણાવ્યું છે.

મંદિરોમાં 4 પ્રકારની ઘંટડી હોય છે આ છે પ્રકાર
1. ગરૂડ ઘંટડી: આ ઘંટડી નાની હોય છે જેને એક હાથથી વગાડી શકાય છે.
2. દ્વાર ઘંટડી: મધ્યમ આકારની ઘંટડી જે દ્વાર પર લટકાય છે.
3. હાથ ઘંટડી: પીતળની ઠોસ એક પ્લેટની રીતે હોય છે જેને લાકડીથી ઠોકીને વગાડીએ છે.
4. ઘંટા: આ બહુ મોટું હોય છે અને તેને વગાડતા પર આવાજ ઘણા કિલોમીટર સુધી જાય છે.
