બુધવારથી અધિકમાસ શરૂ - અધિકમાસ મતલબ દાન-પુણ્ય કમાવવાનો મહિનો

અધિકમાસ કે મળ માસ કે પછી પુરૂષોત્તમ માસમાં શાસ્ત્રો મુજબ શુભ કાર્ય વર્જિત થાય છે. પણ આ સંપૂર્ણ મહિનામાં દાન-પુણ્યની ખૂબ પરંપરા છે. વ્રત-ઉપવસ પણ કરવામાં આવે છે. અને આખો માસ દેવ-દર્શનમાં વિતાવવાની સલાહ આપવામાં આવે છે. અધિકમાસ જેને આપણે પુરૂષોત્તમ માસ પણ કહીએ છીએ એ 17 જૂનથી શરૂ થઈ રહ્યો છે. અધિકમાસના હિંદુ ધર્મમાં ખાસ કરીને વૈષ્ણવ સંપ્રદાયમાં ખૂબ મહત્વ છે. પુરૂષોત્તમ માસ કે અધિકમાસ આમ તો ખગોળીય ઘટનાના આધાર પર મનાવવામાં આવે છે. ખગોલીય ગણના મુજબ દરેક ત્રીજા વર્ષે એક વર્ષમાં એક મહિનો વધુ હોય છે. જે રીતે આપણે ગ્રેગોરિયન કેલેંડરમાં લીપ ઈયર ઉજવીએ છીએ એ જ રીતે હિંદુ કાળ ગણનાના મુજબ અધિક માસ મનાવવામાં આવે છે. આ સૌર અને ચંદ્ર માસને એક સમાન લાવવાની ગણિતીય પ્રક્રિયા છે. જે મહિનામાં સૂર્ય સંક્રાંતિ નથી હોતી એ અધિકમાસ હોય છે. આ જ રીતે જે મહિનામાં બે સૂર્ય સંક્રાંતિ હોય છે એ ક્ષય માસ કહેવાય છે. સૂર્યની જેમ સંક્રાતિ થાય છે અને એ જ આધાર પર આપણા ચંદ્રના આધાઅરિત 12 મહિના હોય છે. દરેક ત્રણ વર્ષના અંતર પર એક અધિકમાસ કે મળમાસ આવે છે. મતલબ તેરમો મહિનો... સૌર વર્ષ 365.2422 દિવસનો હોય છે જ્યારે કે ચંદ્ર વર્ષ 354.327 દિવસનો હોય છે. આ રીતે બંનેના કેલેંડર વર્ષમાં 10.87 દિવસનો ફરક આવી જાય છે અને ત્રણ વર્ષમાં આ અંતર એક મહિનાનુ થઈ જાય છે. આ અસમાનતાને દૂર કરવા માટે અધિક માસ અને ક્ષય માસનો નિયમ બનાવ્યો છે.

અધિકમાસ ક્યારે અને કેમ ?

આ એક ખગોળશાસ્ત્રીય હકીકત છે કે સૂર્ય 30.44 દિવસમાં એક રાશિને પાર કરી લે છે અને આ સૂર્યનો સૌર મહિનો છે. આવા બાર મહિનાનો સમય જે 365.25 દિવસનો છે. એક સૌર વર્ષ કહેવાય છે. ચંદ્રમાંનો મહિનો 29.53 દિવસનો હોય છે. જેનાથી ચંદ્ર વર્ષમાં 354.36 દિવસ જ હોય છે. આ અંતર 32.5 મહિના પછી આ એક ચંદ્ર મહિનાના બરાબર થઈ જાય છે. આ સમયને સમાયોજિત કરવા માટે દરેક ત્રીજા વર્ષે એક અધિકમાસ હોય છે. એક અમાવસથી બીજી અમાવસની વચ્ચે ઓછામાં ઓછુ એક વાર સૂર્યની સંક્રાંતિ થાય છે. આ પ્રાકૃતિક નિયમ છે. જ્યારે બે અમાવસની વચ્ચે કોઈ સંક્રાંતિ નથી હોતી તો એ મહિનો વધેલો કે અધિકમાસ હોય છે. સંક્રાંતિવાળો મહિનો શુદ્ધ મહિનો, સંક્રાંતિ રહિત મહિનો અધિક મહિનો અને બે અમાવસ્યાની વચ્ચે બે સંક્રાંતિ થઈ જાય તો ક્ષય મહિનો હોય છે. ક્ષય મહિનો ક્યારેક ક્યારેક જ હોય છે. આ વર્ષે અધિકમાસ 17 જૂનથી શરૂ થઈ રહ્યો છે. આ મધ્ય અષઢ મતલ્બ અષાઢ માસમાં શુક્લ પક્ષની પ્રતિપદાથી શરૂ થશે. આ વર્ષ અધિકમાસના રૂપમાં અષાઢ પડશે. 16 જુલાઈના રોજ અધિકમાસ ખત્મ થશે.

શુ કહે છે શાસ્ત્ર ? અધિકમાસ કે મળમાસ કે પછી પુરૂષોત્તમ માસમાં શાસ્ત્રો મુજબ શુભ કાર્ય વર્જિત કહેવાય છે. પણ આ સંપૂર્ણ મહિનામં દાન-પુણ્યની ઉંડી પરંપરા છે. વ્રત ઉપવાસ પણ કરવામાં આવે છે અને આખા મહિનામાં દેવ-દર્શનમાં વિતાવવાની સલાહ પણ અપાય છે. આ વધારાનો મહિનો હોવાથી તેને અધિકમાસ કહેવાય છે. પણ તેણે મળ માસ પણ કહેવામાં આવે છે અને પુરૂષોત્તમ માસ પણ કહેવાય છે. એવુ કહેવાય છે કે વર્ષનો દરેક મહિનો કોઈને કોઈ દેવતા સાથે જોડાયેલો છે તેથી તેરમાં માસને મળ માસના નામથી ઓળખવામાં આવે છે. જેથી આ મહિનામાં બધા દેવોને પોતાનુ નામ આપવાની વિનંતી કરવામાં આવી પણ બધાએ ના પાડી દીધી. જેનાથી તે દુખી થઈને ભગવાન કૃષ્ણ પાસે ગયા અને તેમણે પોતાનુ નામ આપ્યુ. ત્યારથી તેને પુરૂષોત્તમ માસનુ નામ મળ્યુ. આ સાથે જ એ વરદાન પણ મળ્યુ કે આ મહિનામાં કરવામાં આવેલ દાન-પુણ્યનુ ફળ પણ વધુ મળશે. તેથી જ આ મહિનો દાન-પુણ્ય કમાવવાનો મહિનો છે.
