અટપટી વાતો ને પોતાના ચટપટા અંદાજમાં કહેવી કિશોર કુમારનો સ્વભાવ હતો. ખાસ કરીને ગીતોની પંક્તિને જમણેથી ડાબી બાજુ ગાવામાં તેમની નિપુણતા મેળવી હતી. નામ પૂછવા પર તેઓ કહેતા હતા કે - રશોકિ રમાકુ

છેલ્લા પંચાવન વર્ષોથી એક બ્રાંડ-નામના રૂપમાં આપણી આસપાસ હાજર છે. થોડા દિવસો પહેલા કે-ફોર કિશોરે લહેર ફેલાવી હતી. કિશોર હાસ્ય સમ્રાટ પણ હતા અને જીનિયસ પાર્શ્વગાયક પણ.

ત્રણ નાયકોને બનાવ્યા મહાનાયક

કિશોર કુમારે હિન્દી સિનેમાના ત્રણ નાયકોને મહાનાયકનો દરજ્જો અપાવવામાં મહત્વનો ભાગ ભજવ્યો છે. તેમના અવાજના જાદુથી દેવ આનંદ સદાબહાર હીરો તરીકે ઓળખાયા. રાજેશ ખન્ના સુપર સિતારા તરીકે ફેમસ થયા અને અમિતાભ બચ્ચન મહાનાયક થઈ ગયા.

મનોરંજન-કર

બાર વર્ષની વય સુધી કિશોરે ગીત-સંગીતમાં નિપુણતા મેળવી લીધી. તેઓ રેડિયો પર ગીતો સાંભળીને તેની ધુન પર થિરકતા રહેતા હતા. ફિલ્મી ગીતોના પુસ્તકો જમા કરીને તેને મોઢે કરી ગાતા હતા. ઘર આવનારા મહેમાનોને અભિનય સાથે ગીતો સંભળાવતા હતા, અને 'મનોરંજન કર' ના રૂપે ઈનામ પણ માંગી લેતા હતા.

બાથરૂમ-સિંગર

એક દિવસે કિશોર કુમારના ઘરે અચાનક સંગીતકાર સચિન દેવ બર્મન પહોંચી ગયા. બેઠકમાં તેમણે તેમનો અવાજ સાંભળ્યો તો દાદા મુનિને પૂછ્યૂ - કોણ ગીત ગાઈ રહ્યુ છે ? અશોક કુમારે જવાબ આપ્યો - મારો નાનો ભાઈ છે. જ્યાં સુધી ગીત નથી ગાતો ત્યાં સુધી તેનુ સ્નાન પુરૂ નથી થતુ. સચિન-દા એ પછી કિશોર કુમારને જીનિયસ ગાયક બનાવી દીધો.

બે વખત અવાજ ઉધાર લીધો

મોહંમ્મદ રફીએ પહેલી વાર કિશોર કુમારને પોતાનો અવાજ ફિલ્મ 'રાગિની'માં ઉધાર આપ્યો. ગીત છે - 'મન મોરા બાવરા'. બીજી વાર શંકર જયકિશને ફિલ્મ 'શરારત'માં રફી પાસેથી ગવડાવ્યુ - 'અજબ હૈ દાસ્તા તેરી યે જીંદગી'.

મહેમૂદ સાથે લીધો બદલો

ફિલ્મ 'પ્યાર કિયે જા' માં કોમેડિયન મહેમૂદે કિશોર કુમાર, શશિ કપૂર અને ઓમપ્રકાશ પાસેથી વધુ પૈસા વસૂલ્યા હતા. કિશોરને આ વાત ખૂંચી ગઈ. તેનો બદલો તેમણે મહેમૂદની ફિલ્મ 'પડોશન'માં લીધો - ડબલ પૈસા લઈને.

ગીતોના જાદુગર

કિશોર કુમારનુ બાળપણ તો ખંડવામાં વીત્યુ, પરંતુ જ્યારે તેઓ કિશોર વયના થયા, તો ઈન્દોરની ક્રિશ્ચિયન કોલેજમાં ભણવા આવ્યા. દરેક સોમવારે સવારે ખંડવાથી મીટરગેજની છુક-છુક રેલગાડીમાં ઈન્દોર આવતા અને શનિવારે સાંજે પાછા ફરતા. યાત્રા દરમિયાન તેઓ દરેક સ્ટેશન પર ડબ્બો બદલી લેતા અને યાત્રીઓને નવા-નવા ગીતો સંભળાવી તેમનુ મનોરંજન કરતા હતા.

ખંડવાની દૂધ જલેબી

કિશોર કુમાર આખી જીંદગી સીધા અને ભોળી પ્રકૃતિના બની રહ્યા. બોમ્બેની ભીડ-ભાડ, પાર્ટિઓ અને ગ્લેમરના ચહેરાઓમાં તેઓ કદી ન જોડાઈ શક્યા. તેથી તેમની અંતિમ ઈચ્છા હતી કે ખંડવામાં તેમનો અંતિમ સંસ્કાર કરવામાં આવે. તેઓ કહેતા હતા કે - ફિલ્મોમાંથી સંન્યાસ લઈને તેઓ ખંડવામાં જ વસવાટ કરશે અને રોજ દૂધ-જલેબી ખાશે.
