દરેક કાનુડાની વાંસળી વગાડતી મૂર્તિ જરૂર જોતા હશે. શ્રીકૃષ્ણની વાંસળી કાયમ બધા લોકોને જિજ્ઞાસાનુ કેન્દ્ર રહી છે. મોટાભાગના લોકો શ્રીકૃષ્ણની વાંસળીનુ રહસ્ય અને તેની પાછળની વાર્તા નથી જાણતા. ભગવાન શ્રીકૃષ્ણની વાંસળીમાં જીવનનો સાર છુપાયેલો છે. આવો અમે તમને બતાવીએ છે શ્રીકૃષ્ણની વાંસળી સાથે જોડાયેલ તથ્ય.

એકવાર શ્રીકૃષ્ણ યમુના કિનારે પોતાની વાંસળી વગાડી રહ્યા હતા. વાંસળીની મધુર તાન સાંભળીને તેમની આસપાસ ગોપીઓ આવી ગઈ. તેમણે કનૈયાને વાતોમાં લગાવીને વાંસળીને પોતાની પાસે રાખી લીધી.

ગોપીઓએ વાંસળીને પૂછ્યુ 'તે ગયા જન્મમાં એવુ તો કયુ પુણ્યનુ કાર્ય કર્યુ હતુ. જે તમે કેશવના ગુલાબની પાંખડી જેવા હોઠો પર સ્પર્શ કરતી રહે છે ? આ સાંભળીને વાંસળીએ હસીને કહ્યુ મે શ્રીકૃષ્ણની નિકટ આવવા માટે જન્મો સુધી રાહ જોઈ છે. ત્રેતાયુવમાં જ્યારે ભગવાન રામ વનવાસ કાપી રહ્યા હતા. એ દરમિયાન મારી ભેટ તેમની સાથે થઈ હતી. તેમની આસપાસ ઘણા મનમોહક પુષ્પ અને ફળ હતા. એ છોડની તુલનામાં મારામાં કોઈ વિશેષ ગુણ નહોતો. પણ ભગવાને મને બીજા છોડ જેટલુ જ મહત્વ આપ્યુ. તેમના કોમળ ચરણ સ્પર્શ પામીને મે પ્રેમનો અનુભવ કર્યો હતો. તેમને મારી કઠોરતાની પરવા કરી નહોતી.

તેમના હ્રદયમાં અથાગ પ્રેમ હતો. જીવનમાં પહેલીવાર કોઈએ મને આટલા પ્રેમથી સ્વીકારી હતી. આ જ કારણે મે આજીવન તેમની સાથે રહેવાની કામના કરી. પણ એ સમયે તેઓ પોતાની મર્યાદામાં બંધાયેલા હતા. તેથી

તેમને મને દ્વાપર યુગમાં પોતાની સાથે રાખવાનુ વચન આપ્યુ. આ રીતે શ્રીકૃષ્ણએ પોતાનુ વચન નિભાવતા મને પોતાની નિકટ રાખી. વાંસળીની પૂર્વજન્મની ગાથા સાંભળીને ગોપીઓ ભાવ વિભોર થઈ ગઈ. ભાગવતપુરાણમાં શ્રીકૃષ્ણના પ્રતીકો અને વાંસળી સાથે જોડાયેલ આવી જ અનેક વાર્તાઓ મળે છે.
