Subhash chandra bose- સ્વતંત્રતા આંદોલનના મહાનાયક નેતાજી સુભાષચંદ્ર બોઝે બીજા વિશ્વયુદ્ધ દરિમયાન આઝાદ હિન્દફૌજની રચના કરી હતી. તેમણે 'જય હિન્દ' જેવુ રાષ્ટ્રીય સુત્ર આપ્યુ હતુ. ગાંધીજીએ સુભાષ બાબુને 'દેશભક્તોના દેશભક્ત'નુ બિરુદ આપ્યુ હતુ. કહેવાય છે કે, જો ભાગલા વખતે સુભાષચંદ્ર હોત તો ભારતને વિભાજનનો માર વેઠવો ન પડત આ વાતનો સ્વીકાર ખુદ ગાંધીજીએ પણ કર્યો હતો.

નેતાજીનો જન્મ 23 જાન્યુઆરી 1897ના રોજ ઓરીસ્સાના કટક શહેરમાં થયો હતો. તેમની માતાનુ નામ પ્રભાવતિ અને પિતાનુ નામ જાનકીનાથ હતુ. તેમના પિતા જાણીતા ધારાશાસ્ત્રી હતા અને તેમણે કટકની મહાનગર પાલિકામાં લાંબા સમય સુધી સેવા આપી હતી ઉપરાંત તેઓ બંગાળ વિધાનસભાના સદસ્ય પણ રહ્યા હતા. અંગ્રેજ સરકારે તેમને રાયબહાદુરનો ખિતાબ આપ્યો હતો.

નેતાજીનો અભ્યાસકાળ : બાળપણમાં સુભાષ કટકની રેવિન્શો કોલેજીયેટ હાઈસ્કુલમાં ભણતા હતા. તેમના શિક્ષક વેણીમાધવદાસે સુભાષમાં નાનપણથી જ દેશપ્રેમની ભાવના પ્રજ્વલીત કરી હતી. માત્ર પંદરવર્ષની કિશોર વયે તેઓ 'ગુરુ'ની શોધમાં હિમાલય ગયેલા પરંતુ તેમનો પ્રવાસ અસફળ રહ્યો હતો. જોકે સ્વામી વિવેકાનંદથી પ્રભાવીત થઈને સુભાષજી તેમના શિષ્ય બન્યા હતા.

સ્વતંત્રતા સંગ્રામમાં પ્રવેશ: સ્વતંત્રતા સેનાની દેશબંધુ ચિત્તરંજનદાસથી પ્રભાવિત થઈને પત્ર દ્વારા તેમની સાથે કામ કરવાની ઈચ્છા સુભાષબાબુએ વ્યક્ત કરી હતી. તે દિવસોમાં ગાંધીજીએ અંગ્રેજ સરકાર સામે અસહયોગનુ આંદોલન છેડ્યું હતુ જેમાં દિનબંધુએ કલકત્તાનુ નેતૃત્વ કર્યું હતુ અને સુભાષે આંદોલનમાં સક્રીય ભુમિકા ભજવી હતી.

1922માં દેશબંધુએ કોંગ્રેસની નીશ્રામાં સ્વરાજ્ય પાર્ટીની સ્થાપના કરી. વિધાનસભામાં અંગ્રેજ સરકારનો વિરોધ કરવા કલકત્તા મહાનગર પાલિકાની ચુંટણીમાં સ્વરાજ્ય પાર્ટી ઝંપલાવ્યુ અને પાર્ટી ચુંટણી જીતી ગઈ ત્યારપછી દાસબાબુ કલકત્તાના મેયર બની ગયા. તેમણે સુભાષબાબુને મહાનગર પાલિકાના પ્રમુખ કાર્યકારી અધિકારી બનાવ્યા હતા.

સુભાષબાબુએ પોતાના કાર્યકાળ દરમિયાન કલકત્તાની મહાનગર પાલિકાના ઢાંચામાં પાયાના ફેરફારો કર્યા અને શહેરના રાજમાર્ગોના વિલાયતી નામો બદલીને ભારતીય નામો આપવામાં આવ્યા. સ્વતંત્રતા સંગ્રામમાં પ્રાણોની આહુતિ આપનારા શહિદોના પરિવારજનોને મહાનગર પાલિકામાં રહેમરાહે નોકરી આપવાનુ ભગીરથ કાર્ય પણ તેમના હાથે શરૂ થયું હતુ.

કોગ્રેસના અધ્યક્ષ : 1939માં જ્યારે કોંગ્રેસનો નવો પ્રમુખની પસંદગી કરવાનો સમય આવ્યો ત્યારે સુભાષબાબુની ઈચ્છા હતી કે, નવો પ્રમુખ એવો હોવો જોઈએ જે કોઈ પણ દબાણને વશ ન થાય પરંતુ કોઈ વ્યકિત આગળ નહીં આવતાં અંતે તેમણે જ કોંગ્રેસની સુકાન સંભાળવાનો પ્રસ્તાવ મુક્યો, ત્યાર બાદ કવિ રવિન્દ્રનાથ ઠાકુરે ગાંધીજીને પત્ર લખીને સુભાષબાબુને અધ્યક્ષ બનાવવાની વિનંતી કરી, પ્રફુલ્લચંદ્ર રાય અને મેઘનાદ સાહા જેવા વૈજ્ઞાનિકો પણ નેતાજીને ફરીથી અધ્યક્ષ બનાવવા માગતા હતા.અંતે કોંગ્રેસ અધ્યક્ષના પદ માટે ચુંટણી યોજવામાં આવી.

અંતે કોંગ્રેસના અધ્યક્ષ પદની ચુંટણીમાં સુભાષચંદ્ર અને સિતારમૈયા વચ્ચે જંગ જામ્યો. કેટલાક માનતા હતાં કે સિતારમૈયાના ટેકામાં મહાત્માગાંધી છે જેના લીધે તેમને ચુંટણી જીતવામાં સરળતા રહેશે, પરંતુ સુભાષ બાબુને આ ચુંટણીમાં 1880 મત અને સીતારમૈયાને 1377 મત મળ્યા આ સાથે સુભાષબાબુ 203 મતે કોંગ્રેસના અધ્યક્ષની ચુંટણી જીતી ગયા.

1939માં ત્રિપુરામાં યોજાયેલા કોંગ્રેસના અધિવેશન દરમિયાન સુભાષબાબુ બિમારીની ગર્તામાં ધકેલાઈ ગયા. પરંતુ તેઓ સ્ટ્રેચર પર સુઈને પણ અધિવેશનમાં હાજરી આપવાનુ ચુકતા ન હતા. જોકે ગાંધીજી આ અધિવેશનમાં ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યાં ન હતાં.

અંતે 29મી એપ્રિલ 1939ના રોજ કોંગ્રેસના અધ્યક્ષપદેથી રાજીનામુ આપી દીધુ અને આઝાદ હિન્દફોજના સેનાનાયક બનીને માતૃભુમિની રક્ષા કાજે અંગ્રેજો સામે યુદ્ધના મંડાણ કર્યા.

નેતાજીનો અંતિમ પ્રવાસ: દ્વીતીય વિશ્વયુદ્ધમાં જાપાનના પરાજય બાદ 18મી ઓગષ્ટ 1945ના રોજ નેતાજી વિમાન મારફતે મંચુરીયા તરફ જતા હતા તે સમયે તેમનુ વિમાન રહસ્યમય રીતે લાપતા થઈ ગયું. ત્યારપછી તેઓ ક્યારે કોઈને જોવા મળ્યા નથી. 23મી ઓગષ્ટ 1945ના દિવસે જાપાનની 'દોમઈ' સંસ્થાએ વિશ્વમાં સમાચાર આપ્યા કે, 18મી ઓગષ્ટના રોજ નેતાજીનુ વિમાન તાઈવાન નજીક દુર્ઘટનાગ્રસ્ત થયુ હતુ. એવુ માનવામાં આવી રહ્યુ છે કે, આ દુર્ઘટનામાં સુભાષબાબુએ પ્રાણ ગુમાવ્યા હતા.

સ્વતંત્રતા મળ્યા પછી ભારતે આ ઘટનાની તપાસ કરાવવા માટે 1956 તથા 1977માં બે વખત આયોગની નીયુક્તી કરી હતી. દુર્ઘટનામાં નેતાજીનુ મોત થયુ હોવાનો રિપોર્ટ બંને વખત થયેલી તપાસ બાદ જાહેર કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો. પરંતુ તાઈવાનની સરકાર સાથે બંને આયોગ દ્વારા કોઈ પણ પ્રકારની વાતચીત કરવામાં આવી ન હતી.

1999માં મનોજકુમાર મુખર્જીના નેતૃત્વમાં ત્રીજા આયોગની રચના કરવામાં આવી હતી. તપાસ દરિમયાન 2005માં તાઈવાન સરકારે મુખર્જી આયોગને જણાવ્યુ હતુ કે, 1945માં તાઈવાનની ભુમી પર કોઈ વિમાન દુર્ઘટનાગ્રસ્ત થયુ જ ન હતુ. 2005માં મુખર્જી આયોગે ભારત સરકારને પોતાનો રિપોર્ટ સુપરત કર્યો, જેમાં તેમણે દર્શાવ્યુ હતુ કે, નેતાજીની મૃત્યુ વિમાન દુર્ઘટનામાં થયુ હોવાના કોઈ પુરાવા નથી. ભારત સરકારે મુખર્જી આયોગની આ રિપોર્ટનો અસ્વીકાર કરી દીધો. 18મી ઓગષ્ટ, 1945ના દિવસે નેતાજી ક્યાં ગુમ થઈ ગયા અને ત્યાપછી શુ બન્યુ, તે ભારતના ઈતિહાસમાં અનુત્તર રહેલો સૌથી અઘરો પ્રશ્ન બની ગયો છે.
