અમદાવાદ: ગુજરાત પોલીસે પ્રતિબંધિત સ્ટૂડન્ટ ઇસ્લામિક મૂવમેંટ ઓફ ઇન્ડીયા (સિમી)ના પૂર્વ અધ્યક્ષ શાહિદ બદ્વની ધરપકડ કરી લીધી છે. ગુજરાત પોલીસે 18 વર્ષ જૂના દેશદ્વોહ અને સરકારી કાર્યમાં વિધ્ન ઉભું કરવાના આરોપમાં આજમગઢના મનચોભા ગામમાંથી શાહિદ બદ્વની ધરપકડ કરી છે.

શાહિદ બદ્વ ધરપકડ કરી લઇ જઇ રહેલી ગુજરાત પોલીસને તેમના સમર્થકોએ રોકવાનો પ્રયત્ન કર્યો હતો. મોટી સંખ્યામાં પોલીસ ટુકડી શાહિદને પોલીસ સ્ટેશન પહોંચી હતી. અહીં તેમના વકીલે ટ્રાંજિટ રિમાંડ બાદ જ ગુજરાત લઇ જવાની માંગ કરી હતી. શાહિદ બદ્વ વિરૂદ્ધ 2001માં ગુજરાતના કચ્છ જિલ્લાના પોલીસ સ્ટેશનમાં ગુનો નોંધાયો હતો.
પોલીસના જણાવ્યા અનુસાર શાહિદના વિરૂદ્ધ એક કેસમાં વોરન્ટ પણ જાહેર કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું પરંતુ તે આવ્યો ન હતો. ત્યારબાદ પોલીસ તેને ધરપકડ કરવા માટે આજમગઢ પહોંચી હતી. મળતી માહિતી અનુસાર દિલ્હીમાં 4, બહરાઇચ, ગોરખપુર અને આજમગઢમાં કેસ દાખલ છે.
તમને જણાવી દઇએ કે દેશમાં પ્રતિબંધિત એક મુસ્લિમ કટ્ટરપંથી સંગઠન છે. તેની રચના 25 એપ્રિલ 1977ના રોજ અલીગઢમાં થઇ હતી. સિમીને ભારતમાં આતંકવાદી પ્રવૃતિઓમાં સામેલ હોવાના લીધે 2002માં પ્રતિબંધ મુકવામાં આવ્યો હતો. થોડા સમય માટે પ્રતિબંધ દૂર કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો પરંતુ સુપ્રીમ કોર્ટે 2008માં તેને ફરી બહાલ કરી દીધો હતો.
