ગાંધીનગર: મુખ્યમંત્રી વિજય રૂપાણી સાથે અમેરિકાના ડેલાવેયર રાજ્યના પ્રતિનિધિમંડળની યોજાયેલી બેઠકમાં ગુજરાત ડેલાવેયર વચ્ચે સિસ્ટર સ્ટેટના MoU ગાંધીનગરમાં કરવામાં આવ્યા હતા. ગુજરાતે અમેરિકાના કોઇ રાજ્ય સાથે સિસ્ટર સ્ટેટ માટે કરેલા આ સૌપ્રથમ MoUને પરિણામે ભારત - અમેરિકા ગુજરાતના સંબંધોને નવી ઊંચાઇ મળી છે. ગુજરાત અને ડેલાવેયર વચ્ચે થયેલા આ MoU પર મુખ્યમંત્રી અને ડેલાવેયરના સેક્રેટરી ઓફ સ્ટેટ એ હસ્તાક્ષર કર્યા હતા.

મુખ્યમંત્રીએ ડૅલાવેયર સાથે વિવિધ સર્વિસિસના ક્ષેત્રે સહયોગ, મૂડીરોકાણ તથા ગુજરાતની મહત્વાકાંક્ષી યોજના ગિફ્ટ IFSCમાં ડૅલાવેયરના રોકાણકારો દ્વારા રોકાણ જેવા વિવિધ પાસાઓ અંગે ફળદાયી વિચારવિમર્શ કરીને આ ક્ષેત્રોમાં બન્ને રાજ્યના સંબંધ ગાઢ બનાવવાની અપેક્ષા વ્યકત કરી હતી.
મુખ્યમંત્રીના આ પ્રસ્તાવને ડૅલાવેયરના પ્રતિનિધિમંડળે ઉમળકાભેર વધાવીને આ ક્ષેત્રોમાં સહયોગની વિપુલ સંભાવના હોવા અંગે સહમતિ દર્શાવી હતી. ડૅલાવેયરના પ્રતિનિધિમંડળે બાયોસાયન્સિઝના ક્ષેત્રે ગુજરાત સાથે સહયોગની ઉત્સુકતા દર્શાવી હતી.
મુખ્યમંત્રીએ પણ ગુજરાતમાં બાયોટેકનોલોજી યુનિવર્સિટી વિશે તલસ્પર્શી માહિતી આપી ગુજરાત બાયોટેક્નોલોજી યુનિવર્સિટી અને ગુજરાત સ્ટેટ બાયોટેક્નોલોજી મિશન–GSBTMના માધ્યમથી ગુજરાત અને ડૅલાવેયર બાયોટેક્નોલોજીના ક્ષેત્રે સંકલન-સહકાર સાધીને પ્રગતિના નવતર આયામ સર કરી શકે તેવું દિશાસૂચન કર્યુ હતું.
ડૅલાવેયર રાજ્યએ ઇઝ ઓફ ડુઇંગ બિઝનેસ, ફાઇનાન્સિયલ સર્વિસિસ, કોર્પોરેટ સર્વિસિસ, પશુધન અને ડેરીપ્રવૃત્તિઓ, પોર્ટ સર્વિસિસ જેવા વિવિધ ક્ષેત્રોમાં પ્રગતિ સાધી છે તો ગુજરાત પણ આ ક્ષેત્રોમાં ભારતનું અગ્રીમ હરોળનું રાજ્ય છે. ડૅલાવેયર પ્રતિનિધિમંડળના મોવડીએ તેમના ગવર્નર વતી ગુજરાતના મુખ્યમંત્રીને નજીકના ભવિષ્યમાં ડૅલાવેયરની મુલાકાત લેવા માટે ભાવભીનું આમંત્રણ પણ પાઠવ્યું હતું.
ગુજરાતની મુલાકાતે આવેલા ડૅલાવેયરના પ્રતિનિધિ મંડળમાં આ અમેરિકન રાજ્યના સેક્રેટરી ઓફ ધ સ્ટેટ, સેક્રેટરી ઓફ એગ્રિકલ્ચર, ડેપ્યુટી સેક્રેટરી ઓફ સ્ટેટ તથા અન્ય વરિષ્ઠ અધિકારીઓનો સમાવેશ થાય છે.
