રક્તદાન મહાદાન છે કારણ કે જેમની જિંદગી પર જોખમ છે અને જેમનું જીવન સમાન જૂથનું લોહી મળે તો બચી શકે, એમના માટે રક્તદાન જીવન રક્ષક આશીર્વાદ છે. અને સેવાભાવી રક્તદાતાઓ પાસે થી રક્ત મેળવીને જરીરિયાતમંદ દર્દીઓને સુલભ બનાવવાનું કામ બ્લડ બેંક એટલે કે રક્ત સંગ્રહ સંસ્થા કરે છે. સયાજી હોસ્પિટલની બ્લડ બેંક વર્ષો થી હોસ્પિટલમાં સારવાર હેઠળના અને લોહીની આવશ્યકતા વાળા દર્દીઓ પાસેથી સખાવતમાં લોહી મેળવીને જરૂરિયાતવાળા દર્દીઓને આપવાનું પુણ્ય કાર્ય કરે છે. આ સંસ્થા તેની સાથે સમાજને જાગૃત કરીને સ્વૈચ્છિક રક્તદાન માટે પ્રેરણા આપવાનું કામ કરે છે.

સરકારી દવાખાનાના આ સરકારી બ્લડ સેંટરને તેનાથી આગળ વધીને ૧૯૯૮ માં માત્ર હોલ બ્લડ નહીં પણ રક્ત ઘટકોના વિભાજનની અને ચોક્કસ જરૂરિયાત પ્રમાણેના રક્ત ઘટકો પુરા પાડવાની વધુ અદ્યતન સેવાની મંજૂરી આપવામાં આવી જેના લીધે હવે ઉપલબ્ધ રક્ત જથ્થા દ્વારા એક જ સમયે એક થી વધુ દર્દીઓની રક્ત ઘટકોની આવશ્યકતા સંતોષી શકાય છે. ૯ જેટલા ઘટક તત્વોમાં વિભાજિત કરીને રક્તને વધુ ઉપયોગી બનાવતી આ સુવિધા છે.

આ બ્લડ સેન્ટરે ઉત્તમ જીવન રક્ષક સેવાઓ આપવાની સાથે ક્રમિક વિકાસ સાધ્યો છે. જેને ધ્યાનમાં લઈને ક્વોલિટી કાઉન્સિલ ઓફ ઇન્ડિયાએ ૨૦૦૯ માં આ સંસ્થાને પ્રતિષ્ઠિત એન.એ.બી.એચ.એક્રેડિસન પ્રદાન કર્યું તો ૨૦૧૦ માં રાજ્યના આરોગ્ય અને પરિવાર કલ્યાણ વિભાગે ૨ અનુસ્નાતકીય બેઠકો સાથે એમ.ડી.ઇમ્યુનોહિમેટોલોજી એન્ડ બ્લડ ટ્રાન્સફ્યુઝન ના પીજી કોર્સ માટે માન્યતા આપી.

તેના પગલે આ સેન્ટર સાથે સંલગ્ન રહીને ૮ વિદ્યાર્થી તબીબોએ અનુસ્નાતકિય પદવી મેળવી છે અને હાલમાં દેશના અગ્રણી બ્લડ સેન્ટર્સમાં સેવાઓ આપી રહ્યાં છે.

 તબીબી અધિક્ષક ડો.રંજન કૃષ્ણ ઐયરે જણાવ્યું કે,પ્રગતિના વધુ એક ઉજ્જવળ સોપાન રૂપે સયાજી હોસ્પિટલના બ્લડ સેન્ટરને ૨૦૧૪ માં પ્લેટલેટફેરેસીસની પરવાનગી આપવામાં આવી જેના પગલે એફેરેસિસ ની પ્રક્રિયા દ્વારા સેલ સેપ્રેટર ની મદદથી દર્દી/ દાતાના શરીરમાંથી તબક્કાવાર લોહીનો સમગ્ર જથ્થો યંત્રમાં લઈને, તેમાં થી જરૂરી ઘટકો અલગ કરીને વધારાનું લોહી પાછું એમના શરીરમાં દાખલ કરી શકાય છે.

આ સેન્ટર સરકારી દવાખાનાઓને વિનામૂલ્યે અને ખાનગી હોસ્પિટલોને દર્દીની આવશ્યકતાને અનુલક્ષીને સાવ નજીવા રાહત દરે રક્ત સેવા આપે છે. કોવિડ મહામારી દરમિયાન આ રોગથી મુક્ત થયેલા દાતાઓ પાસેથી કોવિડના પ્રતિકારની શક્તિનું અન્ય દર્દીઓના શરીરમાં સંવર્ધન કરે તે પ્રકારના બ્લડ પ્લાઝમા વિવિધ દવાખાનાઓને પૂરાં પાડયા હતાં.

આ સમયગાળામાં સંક્રમણના ભયને લીધે રક્તદાન શિબિરો યોજવી શક્ય ન હતી ત્યારે વારાફરતી દાતાઓને સેન્ટરમાં બોલાવીને સંપૂર્ણ તકેદારી સાથે લોહી મેળવવા સહિતના વિવિધ પ્રયાસો કરી લોહીનો પુરવઠો જાળવી રાખ્યો હતો.સેન્ટર દ્વારા રક્તદાનથી તંદુરસ્ત માનવીના શરીરને કોઈ હાનિ થતી નથી, લેવામાં આવેલા રક્તની નિર્ધારિત સમયમાં આપોઆપ પૂર્તિ થઈ જાય છે અને ઉમર તેમજ શરીરના વજનની નિર્ધારિત મર્યાદાને આધીન તંદુરસ્ત વ્યક્ત દર ત્રણ મહિને એકવાર રક્તદાન કરી શકે છે એ પ્રકારની જાગૃતિ વ્યાપક બનાવવા સતત પ્રયાસો કરવામાં આવે છે.

તેના ખૂબ સારા પરિણામો મળ્યા છે. અગાઉના વર્ષોમાં સરેરાશ વાર્ષિક ૧૦ હજારથી ઓછા રક્ત યુનિટોનું સ્વૈચ્છિક દાન સેન્ટરને મળતું હતું. જે ૨૦૧૯ માં વધીને વાર્ષિક ૧૭૦૦૦ યુનિટ થયું અને અગાઉ સરેરાશ વાર્ષિક ૫૦ થી ૬૦ રક્તદાન શિબિરો યોજાતી હતી તે વધીને ૧૦૦ થી ૧૨૦ થઈ. આ સેન્ટરના ઉમદા સેવા કાર્યની નોંધ લઇને ૨૦૧૬ માં ગુજરાત સ્ટેટ એઇડ્સ કંટ્રોલ સોસાયટીએ આ સેન્ટરને ૧૦૦ ટકા રક્ત ઘટકો પ્રિપેર કરવાની શ્રેષ્ઠ કામગીરી માટે એવોર્ડ પ્રદાન કર્યો હતો.

રક્તદાન એ જીવન રક્ષક પ્રવૃત્તિ છે. સયાજી હોસ્પિટલનું બ્લડ સેન્ટર સરકારી હોસ્પિટલમાં સારવાર લેતા ગરીબ અને લોહીની જરૂરિયાત વાળા દર્દીઓ માટે સલામત લોહી ઉપલબ્ધ કરાવવાની ઉમદા માનવીય પ્રવૃત્તિ કરે છે. જો તમે નિયમિત રક્તદાન કરતાં હો તો વર્ષમાં ઓછામાં ઓછું એકવાર આ સેન્ટરમાં આવીને રક્તદાન અવશ્ય કરજો.
