શહેરમાં ગુરૂવારે વહેલી સવારે પોલીસને સમાચાર મળ્યા કે નગીન નગર સ્થિત રંગોલીની ફેક્ટરીથી પિક અપ વૈન જે મારોઠિયામાં રંગોલીની ડિલિવરી કરવા જવાની હતી તેમને કપડા અને થેલીમાં લપેટવામાં આવેલ એક શંકાસ્પદ વસ્તુ જોવા મળી.
વૈનના ડ્રાઈવરે તેને ખોલીને જોયુ તો તેમા ટાઈમ બોમ્બ જેવી વસ્તુ જોવા મળી. તેમાથી ઘડિયાળ જેવો અવાજ પણ આવી રહ્યો હતો. ડ્રાઈવરે તરત જ પોલીસને સૂચના આપી. પોલીસે તેને ખુલ્લા મેદાનમાં મુકવા કહ્યુ.
એરોડ્રામ પોલીસે તત્પરતા બતાવતા તરત જ ઘટનાસ્થળ પર પહોંચી. પોલીસે શંકાસ્પદ વસ્તુની તપાસ કરી. શંકાસ્પદ વસ્તુમાં એક સર્કિટ, ટાઈમ વૉચ અને વિસ્ફોટક સામગ્રી સ્પષ્ટ દેખાય રહી હતી. તપાસ પછી પણ અસમંજસની સ્થિતિ બની રહી અને બોમ્બની આશંકાને જોતા બોમ્બ નિરોધક દળને ઘટના પર બોલાવવામાં આવ્યા.

બોમ્બ સ્કોવડ ટીમે યંત્રો દ્વારા તેની તપાસ કરી અને તેને નષ્ટ કરવા માટે ખોલ્યુ. છેવટે પોલીસ એ નિષ્કર્ષ પર પહોંચી કે આ બોમ્બ નકલી છે. સાથે જ પોલીસે આ પ્રકારની હરકત કરનારા વિરુદ્ધ સખત કાર્યવાહી કરવાનો પણ આદેશ આપ્યો. બોમ્બની અફવાથી વિસ્તારમાં સનસની ફેલાય ગઈ.
આ દરમિયાન ગાડીના માલિકે દાવો કર્યો કે તેને થોડા દિવસોથી જીવથી મારવાની ધમકીઓ મળી રહી હતી. આ હરકત તેના કોઈ દુશ્મન પણ હોઈ શકે છે.
