આમ તો આપણે દિવાળીમાં આપણા કુળદેવતા સહિત દરેક ઈશ્વરની પૂજા કરીએ છીએ. પણ લક્ષ્મીની પૂજા વિશેષ રૂપે કરીએ છીએ. દિવાળી એટલે અમાસની રાત. આ રાતના ચાર પ્રહર હોય છે. પ્રથમ નિશા, બીજો દારૂણ, ત્રીજો કાળ અને ચોથો મહા પ્રહર કહેવાય છે. જ્યોતિષના કહેવા મુજબ મા લક્ષ્મીજીની પૂજા અને આરાધના મધ્યરાત્રિ પછી કરવાથી લક્ષ્મીની પ્રાપ્તિ થાય છે. લક્ષ્મી સદૈવ પ્રસન્ન રહે છે અને ઘરમાં ધનની વર્ષા થાય છે.

જ્યોતિષ મુજબ દરેક જાતકે પોતાની રાશિ મુજબ દિવાળીમાં લક્ષ્મીની પૂજા કરવી જોઈએ.
