અન્ય ક્ષેત્રની જેમ ટેકનોલોજી અને ગેજેટ્સની દુનિયામાં પણ દર વર્ષે અનેક પ્રકારની નવી તકનીક આવે છે. અનેકવાર ગેઝેટ્સ તપાસ થાય છે અને અનેક તકનીક તેઓ ગેઝેટ્સ વર્ષની સાથે જ ખતમ પણ થઈ જાય છે. તો આવો એક નજર નાખે છે વર્ષ 2018માં ખતમ થનારા એપ અને સાઈટ્સ પર..

ગૂગલે પોતાના 4 વર્ષ જૂના ‘Inbox by Gmail’ એપને બંધ કરવાનો નિર્ણય લીધો છે. ગૂગલ મોર્ચ 2019 સુધી જીમેલ ઈનબોક્સને બંધ કરશે. આ પાછળ ગૂગલનુ કહેવુ છે કે તે જીમેલ પર ફોકસ કરવા માંગે છે. ઉલ્લેખનીય છે કે ઈનબોક્સ બાય જીમેલને 2014માં લોંચ કરવામાં આવ્યુ હતુ.

આ વર્ષ 17 જુલાઈના રોજ યાહૂ મેસેજર બંધ થઈ ગયા છે. વેરિજૉનના સ્વામિત્વવાળી યાહૂએ યાહૂ મેસેજરના યૂઝર્સના નવા મેસેજિંગ એપ સ્ક્વિરલ (Squirrel) પર શિફ્ટ કરી દીધુ છે.

ગૂગલે પોતાના યૂઆરલ શોર્ટનરને 30 માર્ચ 2019 સુધી બંધ કરવાનુ એલાન કર્યુ છે. Google એ વર્ષ 2009માં URL શોર્ટનર goo.gl ને લોંચ કર્યુ હતુ. જો કે તેનો મતલબ એ નથી કે જે લિંક્સને આ દ્વારા નાનુ કરવામાં આવ્યુ છે કે તે કામ નહી કરે. બધી લિંક્સ સંપૂર્ણ રીતે કામ કરતા રહેશે. 13 એપ્રિલથી તેને બંધ કરવાની શરૂઆત થઈ જશે.

ફેસબુકે પોતાના વર્ચુઅલ અસિસ્ટેંટ એપને બંધ કરવાનો નિર્ણય કર્યો છે. તમામ કોશિશ છતા પણ તેના યૂઝર્સની સંખ્યા માત્ર 2000 જ હતી. આ બધા યૂઝર્સ ફક્ત અમેરિકાના હતા. આ આસિસ્ટેટની મદદથી યૂઝર્સ ઈવેંટની લિસ્ટ બનાવી શકતા હતા. સાથે જ પેમેંટનુ પણ કામ તેમના દ્વારા કરવામાં આવતુ હતુ.

Yahoo Messenger

આ વર્ષે 17 જુલાઈના રોજ યાહૂ મેસેજર બંધ થઈ ગયુ છે. વેરિજોનના સ્વામિત્વવાળી યાહૂએ યાહૂ મેસેજરના યૂઝર્સને નવા મેસેજિંગ એપ સ્કિવરલ (Squirrel) પર શિફ્ટ કરી દીધુ છે.

Google URL shortener

ગૂગલે પોતાના યૂઆરએલ શોર્ટનરના રોજ 30 માર્ચ 2019 સુધી બંધ કરવાનુ એલાન કર્યુ છે. Google એ વર્ષ 2009મા URL શોર્ટનર goo.gl મે લોંચ કર્યુ હતુ. જો કે તેનો મતલબ એ નથી કે જે લિંક્સને તેમણે આના દ્વારા શોર્ટ કરવામાં આવી છે એ કામ નહી કરે. બધી લિંક સંપૂર્ણ્ર રીતે કામ કરતી રહેશે. 13 એપ્રિલથી તેને બંધ કરવાની શરૂઆત થઈ જશે.

Facebook M personal assistant

ફેસબુકે પોતાના વર્ચુઅલ આસિસ્ટેંટ એમને બંધ કરવાનો નિર્ણય કર્યો છે. તમામ કોશિશ છતા પણ તેના યૂઝર્સ્ની સંખ્યા માત્ર 2000 જ હતી. આ બધા યૂઝર્સ ફક્ત અમેરિકાના હતા. આ આસિસ્ટેંટની મદદથી યૂઝર્સ ઈવેંટની લોસ્ટ બનાવી શકતા હતા. સાથે જ પેમેંટનુ પણ કામ આની મદદથી કરવામાં આવતુ હતુ.

Google Spaces

ગૂગલે પોતાના ગ્રુપ મેસેજીંગ એપ ગૂગલ સ્પેસેજને વર્ષ 2016માં લોંચ કર્યો હતો. આ નાના ગ્રુપ્સમાં ચેટિંગ માટે લોંચ કરવામાં આવ્યુ હતુ. પણ લોકપ્રિયતા ન મળવાને કારને તેને બંધ કરવામાં આવી રહ્યુ છે.

Google Blob Emoji

Google પોતાના લોકપ્રિય બ્લૉબ ઈમોજીને પણ બંધ કરવા જઈ રહ્યુ છે. આ વિશ્વ ઈમોજી દિવસ પર 17 જુલાઈ 2019ના રોજ બંધ કરવામાં આવશે.

Facebook Hello

Facebook એ વર્ષ 2015માં એડ્રોયડ યૂઝર્સ માટે હેલ્લોએપ લોંચ કર્યો હતો. પણ આ વર્ષે 31 જુલાઈના રોજ તેને બંધ કરવામાં આવ્યો. આ એપ દ્વારા યૂઝર્સ પોતાના કૉન્ટેક્ટ્સ નંબર અને ફેસબુકની માહિતીઓને એક સ્થાન પર પોતાના ફોનમાં મુકતા હતા.

ફેસબુકે આ એપને વર્ષ 2014માં લોંચ કર્યો હતો. આ એપની મદદથી યૂઝર્સ પોતાની રોજની દિનચર્યાને રેકોર્ડ કરી શકતો હતો. આ એપને વર્ષ 2018ની 31 જુલાઈના રોજ બંધ કરવામાં આવ્યો છે.

Google Allo

ગૂગલે પોતાના લોકપ્રિય એપ ગૂગલ Alloને પણ બંધ કરવાનો નિર્ણય લીધો છે. ગૂગલે એલો એપમાં આ વર્ષ એપ્રિલથી રોકાણ કરવુ બંધ કર્યુ હતુ. આ એપને 2016માં લોંચ કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો.

YouTube gaming app

ગૂગલે પોતાના યૂટ્યૂબ ગેમિંગ એપને 2015માં લોંચ કર્યો હતો અને હવે આ મર્ચ 2019 સુધી બંધ કરવામાં આવશે.

Google Plus

અનેકવાર ડેટા લીક થયા પછી ગૂગલે પોતાના સોશિયલ મીડિયા પ્લેટફોર્મ ગૂગલ પ્લસ (Google+)ને બંધ કરવાનો નિર્ણય કર્યો છે. હાલ તાજેતરમાંજ તેના 5 લાખ યૂઝર્સનો ડેટા લીક થયો હતો.

Google Chrome apps

ગૂગલે પોતાના કોર્મ વેબ સ્ટોરને પણ બંધ કરવાનો નિર્ણય લીધો છે. ગૂગલે કહ્યુ છે કે ક્રોમ વેબ સ્ટોરનો સપોર્ટ હવે વિંડોઝ, મૈક અને લાઈનક્સ પર નહી મળે.
