રૂદ્રાક્ષ જ એક માત્ર એવું ફળ છે જે અર્થ , ધર્મ , કામ અને મોક્ષ પ્રદાન કરવામાં કારગર છે, શિવપુરાણ , પદ્મપુરાણ, રૂદ્રાક્ષકલ્પ, રૂદ્રાક્ષ મહાત્મય વગેરે ગ્રંથોમાં રૂદ્રાક્ષની અપાર મહિમા દર્શાવી છે .

રૂદ્રાક્ષ આમ તો કોઈ પણ હોય લાભકારી હોય છે. પણ મુખ મુજબ એનુ મહત્વ જુદુ જુદુ હોય છે. દરેક રૂદ્રાક્ષ ઉપર ધારીઓ બનેલી હોય છે. આ ધારીઓને રૂદ્રાક્ષનું મુખ કહે છે.

આ ધારિયોની સંખ્યા 1 થી લઈને 21 સુધી હોય છે. એની ધારીઓને ગણીને રૂદ્રાક્ષના વર્ગીકરણ 1 થી 21 મુખી સુધી કરાય છે. એટલે રૂદ્રાક્ષમાં જેટલી ધારીઓ હશે , તે એટલા જ મુખી રૂદ્રાક્ષ કહેવાય છે .

ધાર્મિક માન્યતા મુજબ જેના ઘરમાં રૂદ્રાક્ષની નિયમિત પૂજા થાય છે , ત્યાં અન્ન , વસ્ત્ર ધન ધાન્યની ક્યારે પણ કમી રહેતી નથી. આવા ઘરમાં લક્ષ્મીનો કાયમ વાસ રહે છે. માન્યતા છે કે રૂદ્રાક્ષ કાયમ ધારણ કરનારને અને તેની પૂજા કરનાર અંત કાળમાં શરીર ત્યાગ કરી શિવલોકમાં સ્થાન મેળવે છે.

પૌરાણિક કથામાં ઉલ્લેખ છે કે સતીના દેહ ત્યાગ પર શિવજીને ખૂબ દુ:ખ થયું અને તેમના આંસૂ ઘણા સ્થાનો પર પડ્યા જેનાથી રૂદ્રાક્ષ ઉત્પન્ન થયા છે. આથી રૂદ્રાક્ષ

ધારણ કરનારના બધા કષ્ટ ભગવાન લઈ લે છે.

જ્યોતિષીય નજરે રૂદ્રાક્ષ ધારણ કરવાના ફાયદા જણાવ્યા છે. જ્યોતિષાચાર્ય મુજબ માણસના બીમાર થવાનું કારણ ગ્રહોની પ્રતિકૂળતા હોય છે. રૂદ્રાક્ષ ધારણ કરવાથી ગ્રહોની પ્રતિકૂળતા દૂર થઈ જાય છે.

રૂદ્રાક્ષ શનિની સાઢેસાતીમાં પણ લાભ આપે છે. એને ધારણ કરવાથી શનિના કારણે થતા દુ:ખ દૂર થઈ જાય છે.

કાલસર્પના કારણે જીવનમાં મુશકેલીઓનો સામનો કરવો પડી રહ્યો હોય તો પણ રૂદ્રાક્ષ ધારણ કરવાથી અનૂકૂળ ફળની પ્રાપ્તિ થાય છે. જો તમે કોઈ શુભ દિવસ પર ગંગા સ્નાન કરવાની ઈચ્છા રાખો છો પણ ગંગા તટ પર પહોંચી શકતા નથી ત્યારે રૂદ્રાક્ષને માથા પર રાખીને ભગવાન શિવનું ધ્યાન કરવાથી ગંગા સ્નાનનું ફળ મળી જાય છે.

રૂદ્રાક્ષના વૈજ્ઞાનિક પરીક્ષણથી પ્રમાણિત થયુ છે કે આ બીપી સંતુલિત રાખવામાં ખૂબ કારગર છે એટલે કે બ્લ્ડ પ્રેશર સંબંધી પરેશાનીઓમાં રૂદ્રાક્ષ ધારણ કરવુ ખૂબ લાભકરી હોય છે.

રૂદ્રાક્ષ બૌધિક ક્ષમતા અને સ્મરણ શક્તિ વધારવામાં પણ કારગર ગણાય છે. આજના સમયમાં લોકો તનાવ અને ચિંતામાં ડૂબેલા રહે છે , જેથી ઘણા રોગોથી પીડિત થઈ જાય છે. રૂદ્રાક્ષ ધારણ કરવાથી ચિંતા તનાવ સંબંધી પરેશાનીઓમાં કમી આવે છે. ઉત્સાહ અને ઉર્જામાં વૃદ્ધિ થાય છે.

રૂદ્રાક્ષ કિડની માટે પણ લાભકારી છે. આ ઉપરાંત મધુમેહ અને દિલની બીમારી માટે પણ રૂદ્રાક્ષ ધારણ કરવો લાભકારી છે.
