વર્લ્ડ કપ 2019: એ પ્રદર્શન જેણે ભારતનો સેમિફાઇનલ પ્રવેશ નિશ્ચિત કરી દીધો

આઈસીસી વન-ડે ક્રિકેટ વર્લ્ડ કપમાં ભારતે તેની વિજયકૂચ આગળ ધપાવતા ગુરુવારે વેસ્ટ ઇન્ડીઝને આસાનીથી કચડી નાખીને 125 રનથી વિરાટ વિજય હાંસલ કર્યો હતો. આ સાથે જ ભારતે સેમિફાઇનલમાં પોતાનો પ્રવેશ નિશ્ચિત કરી દીધો. વેસ્ટ ઇન્ડીઝ માટે હવે આગળ ધપવાની શક્યતા લગભગ ધોવાઈ ગઈ છે. તે હાલમાં માત્ર ત્રણ પૉઇન્ટ ધરાવે છે જ્યારે ભારતે આ મૅચના વિજય બાદ 11 પૉઇન્ટ સાથે ટેબલમાં બીજો ક્રમ હાંસલ કર્યો છે.

ઓલ્ડ ટ્રેફોર્ડ ખાતે રમાયેલી મૅચમાં ભારતે બેટિંગમાં નિરાશ કર્યા હતા પરંતુ એ કમી બૉલર્સે પૂરી કરી દીધી હતી. ટૉસ જીતીને વિરાટ કોહલીએ પ્રથમ બેટિંગ કરવાનો ઉચિત નિર્ણય લીધો હતો અને 50 ઓવરમાં સાત વિકેટે 268 રન બનાવ્યા હતા. જવાબમાં વેસ્ટ ઇન્ડીઝ જરાય પ્રતિકાર કરી શક્યું ન હતું અને 34.2 ઓવરમાં 143 રનમાં આઉટ થઈ ગયું હતું.

ભારતે નિયમિત અંતરે વિકેટ ગુમાવી હતી પરંતુ વિરાટ કોહલીએ કૅપ્ટન ઇનિંગ્સ રમીને 72 રન ફટકાર્યા હતા. એક તબક્કે ભારત જંગી સ્કોર ખડકી શકે તેમ લાગતું ન હતું. ભારતની વેસ્ટ ઇન્ડીઝ સામેની જીતનાં આ છે કારણો

કોહલી 82 બૉલમાં આઠ બાઉન્ડ્રી સાથે 72 રન ફટકારીને આઉટ થયા હતા.

ધોની પણ અગાઉની મૅચની માફક ધીમી બેટિંગ કરી રહ્યા હતા પરંતુ હાર્દિક પંડ્યા સાથે મળીને તેમણે 80 રન ઉમેર્યા. ત્યારબાદ ભારતના 250ના સ્કોરની અપેક્ષા જાગી હતી.

હાર્દિક પંડ્યા તેમની મૂળ શૈલીથી આક્રમક રમતા હતા પરંતુ તેમની પાસેથી આ ઇનિંગ્સમાં સિક્સર જોવા મળી ન હતી. વડોદરાના આ ઓલરાઉન્ડર 38 બૉલમાં 46 રન ફટકારીને આઉટ થયા હતા ત્યારબાદ ધોનીએ પણ ખભા ઉંચક્યા હતા અને ઝડપી બેટિંગ શરૂ કરી હતી. અંતિમ ઓવર્સમાં તે વધુ આક્રમક બન્યા હતા અને પોતાનો સ્ટ્રાઇક રેટ સુધારીને 61 બૉલમાં 56 રન ફટકાર્યા હતા.

ભારતીય ઇનિંગ્સમાં એક માત્ર ધોની જ સિક્સર ફટકારી શક્યા હતા. તેમણે બે સિક્સર અને ત્રણ બાઉન્ડ્રી ફટકારી હતી.

ભારતે ટૉસ જીતીને બેટિંગ લીધી ત્યારે તેમની પાસેથી 300થી વધુના સ્કોરની અપેક્ષા રખાતી હતી. જોકે, કોહલી અને ધોનીએ અડધી સદી ફટકારીને ટીમને સન્માનજનક સ્કોર સુધી પહોંચાડી હતી. ભારતીય બૉલિંગ આક્રમણ 268 રનનો સ્કોર ડિફેન્ડ કરી શકે છે તેવા આત્મવિશ્વાસ સાથે મોહમ્મદ શમી અને જસપ્રિત બુમરાહે ઇનિંગ્સનો પ્રારંભ કર્યો હતો.

શમીએ તેની આગળની મૅચની ધારદાર બૉલિંગ આગળ ધપાવતા હોય તેમ પાંચમી ઓવરમાં ખતરનાક ક્રિસ ગેઇલ અને સાતમી ઓવરમાં આક્રમક શાઈ હોપને પેવેલિયન ભેગા કરી દીધા હતા.

સુનીલ એમ્બ્રિસ અને હેતમેયરે થોડો પ્રતિકાર કર્યો હતો પરંતુ તેઓ ટીમનો પરાજય થોડા સમય પૂરતો પાછળ ધકેલી શક્યા હતા. મિડલ ઓવરમાં કુલદીપ યાદવ અને ચહલે વિકેટ લીધી હતી તો બુમરાહે બીજા સ્પેલમાં આવીને વેસ્ટ ઇન્ડીઝના પરાજય પર મહોર મારી દીધી હતી. ભારતને વિજય અપાવવામાં તમામ બૉલરનું યોગદાન રહ્યું હતું.

ભારતીય ક્રિકેટ ટીમના સુકાની વિરાટ કોહલીએ ગુરુવારે વેસ્ટ ઇન્ડીઝ સામેની વર્લ્ડ કપની વન-ડે મૅચ દરમિયાન તેની ઇન્ટરનેશનલ કારકિર્દીના 20 હજાર રન પૂરા કર્યા હતા. આ સિદ્ધિ હાંસલ કરનારા તેઓ વિશ્વના 12મા ક્રિકેટર બન્યા. તેમણે ટેસ્ટ, વન-ડે અને ટી-20 ક્રિકેટમાં મળીને 376મી મૅચની 417મી ઇનિંગ્સમાં 20 હજાર રન પૂરા કર્યા હતા. આ સાથે તેણે સોથી ઓછી ઇનિંગ્સમાં આ સિદ્ધિ હાંસલ કરી હતી.

ભારતે છેલ્લી દસ ઓવરમાં 82 રન ફટકાર્યા

રોહિત શર્મા શરૂઆતમાં જ આઉટ થઈ ગયા ત્યાર બાદ વિરાટ કોહલીએ ઇનિંગ્સને જમાવવાનો પ્રયાસ કર્યો હતો પરંતુ તેમ છતાં ભારતની જંગી સ્કોરની શક્યતા રહી ન હતી. આ સંજોગોમાં ધોની અને હાર્દિક પંડ્યાએ ઝડપી બેટિંગનો પ્રયાસ કરીને છેલ્લી દસ ઓવરમાં 82 રન નોંધાવ્યા હતા. 40 ઓવરને અંતે ભારતનો સ્કોર પાંચ વિકેટે 186 હતો જ્યારે 50 ઓવર બાદ 268 થઈ ગયો હતો.

ધોનીને ધીમી બેટિંગની આદત પડી ગઈ છે

મહેન્દ્રસિંહ ધોની ભારતના શ્રેષ્ઠ ફિનિશર મનાય છે પરંતુ છેલ્લી કેટલીક મૅચથી અને ખાસ કરીને આ વર્લ્ડ કપમાં તેમની બેટિંગ ધીમી પડી ગઈ છે. છેલ્લી ઓવરમાં તેમણે એકાદ બાઉન્ડ્રી અને સિક્સર દ્વારા 61 બૉલમાં 56 રન ફટકાર્યા હતા પરંતુ તેની બેટિંગ એકંદરે નિરાશાજનક રહી હતી. 50મી ઓવર શરૂ થઈ તે અગાઉ ધોનીએ 55 બૉલમાં 40 રન નોંધાવ્યા હતા. અગાઉ સાઉથ આફ્રિકા સામે તેમણે 46 બૉલમાં 34 અને અફઘાનિસ્તાન સામે બાવન બૉલમાં 28 રન કર્યા હતા.

છેલ્લા બૉલમાં બેટ બદલાવતા આશ્ચર્ય

એક તરફ ધોની ધીમું રમી રહ્યા હતા તેમાં ભારતીય ઇનિંગ્સનો છેલ્લો બૉલ બાકી હતો ત્યારે તેમણે બૅટ બદલાવતા આશ્ચર્ય સર્જાયું હતું. એમ કહેવાતું હતું કે એક બૉલ માટે આ રીતે બૅટ બદલીને તે સમય પસાર કરી રહ્યા છે. જોકે, ધોનીએ છેલ્લા બૉલે સિક્સર ફટકારતા રાહત થઈ હતી.

રોહિત શર્મા શંકાસ્પદ રીતે આઉટ

ભારતની ઇનિંગ્સની છઠ્ઠી ઓવરમાં રોહિત શર્મા આઉટ થયા હતા. કિમર રોચનો બૉલ તેના બૉટ અને પેડની વચ્ચેથી નીકળી ગયો હતો. કેરેબિયન ફિલ્ડર્સે રિવ્યૂ લીધો હતો અને થર્ડ અમ્પાયરે રોહિત શર્માને આઉટ આપ્યા હતા. જોકે એમ લાગતું હતું કે બૅટને સ્પર્શ કર્યા વિના જ બૉલ વિકેટકીપર પાસે ગયો હતો.

ધોનીની 72મી અડધી સદી

ધોનીએ ઇનિંગ્સની છેલ્લી ઓવરમાં પોતાની અડધી સદી પૂરી કરી હતી. વન-ડે ક્રિકેટમાં આ તેમની 72મી અડધી સદી હતી. આ સાથે તેમણે સૌરવ ગાંગુલીની બરાબરી કરી લીધી હતી. વન-ડેમાં હવે સચિન તેંડુલકર (96) અને રાહુલ દ્રવિડ (83) તેમના કરતાં વધારે અડધી સદી નોંધાવનારા ભારતીય બૅટ્સમૅન છે.

વન-ડે ઇતિહાસમાં ધોની કરતાં વધુ અડધી સદી ફટકારનારા બેટ્સમૅનમાં કુમારસંગાકરા (93), જેક કાલિસ (86), ઇંઝમામ ઉલ હક (83), રિકી પોન્ટિંગ (82) અને મહેલા જયવર્ધને (77)નો સમાવેશ થાય છે.
