નેતાજી સુભાષચંદ્ર બોઝની હત્યા કોણ કરવા માગતું હતું?

આઝાદ હિંદ ફોજના સંસ્થાપક સુભાષચંદ્ર બોઝના ડ્રાઇવર હોવાનો દાવો કરનારા 'કર્નલ' નિઝામુદ્દીને એક વખત જણાવ્યું હતું કે મ્યાનમારમાં એક વખત નેતાજી પર હુમલાનો પ્રયાસ કરાયો હતો. તેમનો દાવો હતો કે કોઈએ નેતાજીને લક્ષ્ય બનાવી ગોળીઓ ચલાવી હતી.

એમાંની ત્રણ ગોળીઓ 'કર્નલ' નિઝામુદ્દીનની પીઠ પર વાગી હતી. આઝાદ હિંદ ફોજનાં કૅપ્ટન ડૉક્ટર લક્ષ્મી સેહગલે એ ગોળીઓ 'કર્નલ'ના શરીરમાંથી કાઢી હતી.

નિઝામુદ્દીને દાવો કર્યો કે નેતાજીનો જીવ બચાવતી વખતે તેમને ત્રણ ગોળીઓ વાગી હતી ઉત્તર પ્રદેશના પૂર્વમાં આઝમગઢ જિલ્લાના મુબારકપુરમાં આવેલી 'મદરેસા અલ-જમિયતુલ અશરફીયા' દુનિયાભરમાં જાણીતી છે.

આ જ મદરેસાની આગળથી એક સાંકડી ગલી ઢકુઆ ગામ તરફ જાય છે. એ ગામમાં ઈંટથી બનેલા ઘરમાં તિરંગો લહેરાઈ રહ્યો છે. આ ઘર નિઝામુદ્દીનનું છે. 2017માં મૃત્યુ પામેલા નિઝામુદ્દીન જ્યારે જીવિત હતા ત્યારે ઘરમાં ખાટલો ઢાળીને બેસેલા જોવા મળતા.

ત્રણ વર્ષ પહેલાં જ્યારે બીબીસી તેમની મુલાકાતે પહોંચ્યું ત્યારે એમના બન્ને હાથ ધ્રૂજી રહ્યા હતા. તેમના પુત્ર શેખ અકરમે જણાવ્યું હતું કે 'અબ્બુ હવે 104 વર્ષના થઈ ગયા છે.'

નિઝામુદ્દીન પોતાના નામની આગળ 'કર્નલ' શબ્દ લગાવતા હતા અને એ વાતનો તેમને ગર્વ હતો. તેઓ કહેતા હતા કે એ નામ તેમને આઝાદ હિંદ ફોજના સંસ્થાપક અને ભારતીય કોંગ્રેસના પૂર્વ અધ્યક્ષ સુભાષચંદ્ર બોઝે આપ્યું હતું.

હુમલાનો પ્રયાસ

એ વખતે 'કર્નલ' નિઝામુદ્દીને બીબીસીને જણાવ્યું હતું કે મ્યાનમારમાં જ્યારે સુભાષચંદ્ર બોઝ આઝાદ હિંદ ફોજનું નેતૃત્વ કરી રહ્યા હતા ત્યારે તેમના પર જીવલેણ હુમલાનો પ્રયાસ કરાયો હતો.

તેમણે જણાવ્યું હતું, ''સાંજે ચાર વાગ્યે જંગલની વચ્ચોવચ એક બેઠક ચાલી રહી હતી. ત્યારે જ મને લાગ્યું કે કોઈ નેતાજી પર નિશાન તાકી રહ્યું છે.''

''હું તેમની પાસે પહોંચ્યો એ પહેલાં જ મારી પીઠ પર એક બાદ એક, એમ ત્રણ ગોળી ભોંકાઈ. ''ગોળી લાગી એના ત્રણ દિવસ બાદ હું હોશમાં આવ્યો.''

બીબીસીને પીઠ પર ગોળીઓનાં નિશાન બતાવી 'કર્નલ' નિઝામુદ્દીને દાવો કર્યો હતો કે એ ગોળીઓ આઝાદ હિંદ ફોજનાં વરિષ્ઠ અધિકારી કૅપ્ટન ડૉક્ટર લક્ષ્મી સેહગલે કાઢી હતી.

આ ઘટના બાદ સુભાષચંદ્ર બોઝે તેમને 'કર્નલ' તરીકે સંબોધવાનું શરૂ કર્યું હતું.

નેતાજી અને નિઝામુદ્દીનની મુલાકાત

નિઝામુદ્દીને જણાવ્યું હતું કે નેતાજી સાથે તેમની પ્રથમ મુલાકાત સિંગાપોરમાં થઈ હતી.

એ વખતે ત્યાં આઝાદ હિંદ ફોજ માટે ભરતી કરાઈ રહી હતી.

તેમણે જણાવ્યું હતું, ''હું બ્રિટિશ આર્મીમાં પૅરાટ્રુપર હતો પણ મદ્રાસી અને કાશ્મીરી સૈનિકો સાથે સૈન્ય છોડીને સુભાષ સાથે ભળી ગયો હતો.''

''હું ડ્રાઇવર હતો એટલે સુભાષ બોઝે મને પોતાની સાથે રાખ્યો હતો.''

''જોહરબારુના રાજાએ 12 સિલિન્ડરવાળી એક ગાડી નેતાજીને ભેટમાં આપી હતી. હું એ જ ચલાવતો હતો. પરંતુ તેમણે મને ક્યારેય ડ્રાઇવર નહોતો કહ્યો. તેઓ મને હંમેશાં બાબુ કહીને બોલાવતા હતા.''

નિઝામુદ્દીનનું સાચું નામ સર્ફુદ્દીન હતું, પરંતુ આઝાદ હિંદ ફોજમાં ભરતી વખતે તેમણે પોતાનું નામ નિઝામુદ્દીન રાખી લીધું હતું.

ભારતીય પાસપોર્ટ

નિઝામુદ્દીન પાસે વર્ષ 1940નો એ ભારતીય પાસપોર્ટ પણ છે જેના પરથી માલૂમ પડે છે કે તેઓ મ્યાનમાર (બર્મા)માં રહેતા હતા. તેમણે લગ્ન પણ ત્યાં જ કર્યાં હતાં.

અકરમે જણાવ્યું કે તેઓ છ ભાઈ-બહેન છે અને દરેકનો ઉછેર મ્યાનમારમાં થયો છે.

તેઓ કહે છે, "અબ્બા અમને વર્ષ 1969માં એવું કહીને ભારત લાવ્યા કે અહીં બર્મા કરતાં સારું છે. ત્યારથી અમે અહીં જ રહીએ છીએ."

પુરાવાની વાસ્તવિકતા

વારાણસીમાંથી પોતાનું ચૂંટણીઅભિયાન શરૂ કરતા પહેલાં નરેન્દ્ર મોદીએ 'કર્નલ' નિઝામુદ્દીનના પગે લાગી આશીર્વાદ લીધા હતા.

જોકે, નેતાજી સુભાષચંદ્ર બોઝ અને તેમના મૃત્યુ પર વર્ષોથી શોધ કરી રહેલા અનુજ ધર 'કર્નલ'ની વાત સાથે સહમત નથી થતા.

'કર્નલ' એવો પણ દાવો કરે છે કે તેમણે નેતાજીને મ્યાનમારની સરહદ પર છોડ્યા હતા.

અનુજ ધર કહે છે, "નિઝામુદ્દીન બુઝુર્ગ છે એટલા માટે તેમનો આદર થવો જોઈએ.''

''હું માનું છું કે તેઓ આઝાદ હિંદ ફોજનો ભાગ રહ્યા હશે, પરંતુ નેતાજીના મૃત્યુ પર બનેલા ખોસલા અને જસ્ટિસ મુખર્જી કમિશન સામે તેઓ કેમ ના આવ્યા?"

"તેઓ શાહનવાઝ કમિટી સામે પણ ના આવ્યા. મારી પાસે પુરાવા છે કે નેતાજીના ઑર્ડર્લી સુનીલ રાજ હતા અને તેમના બૉડીગાર્ડ ઉસ્માન પટેલ."

ધરનો દાવો છે કે વર્ષ 1945થી લઈને 1947 સુધી નેતાજી રશિયામાં હતા, નિઝામુદ્દીનના કહેવા પ્રમાણે મ્યાનમારમાં નહીં.
