चेतन भगत के ख्याल पर हिन्दी प्रेमियों के विचार
लेखक चेतन भगत का मानना है कि हिन्दी को आगे बढ़ाना है तो देवनागरी के स्थान पर रोमन को अपना लिया जाना चाहिए। हमने हिन्दी प्रेमियों से बात की और जानना चाहा कि वे क्या मानते हैं क्या यह भाषा की हत्या की साजिश है?
हिन्दी भाषा में अंगरेजी शब्दों का समावेश तो मान्य हो चुका है मगर लिपि को ही नकार देना क्या भाषा को समूल नष्ट करने की चेष्टा नहीं है? क्या आपको भी लगता है कि हिन्दी अब रोमन में लिखना आंरभ कर देना चाहिए।
प्रकाश हिन्दुस्तानी / वरिष्ठ पत्रकार: देवनागरी लिपि में न केवल संस्कृत और हिन्दी लिखी जाती है, बल्कि मराठी और नेपाली को भी देवनागरी लिपि में लिखा जाता है।
देवनागरी की वैज्ञानिक प्रणाली के कारण उसकी लोकप्रियता उर्दू और कोंकणी में भी है और उर्दू व कोंकणी की अनेक किताबें और अख़बार भी देवनागरी लिपि में छप रहे हैं।
इसके अलावा अनेकानेक बोलियों ने भी देवनागरी को अपनाया है। कश्मीरी, मैथिली, अवधी, भोजपुरी, राजस्थानी, मारवाड़ी, मेवाड़ी, छत्तीसगढ़ी, मालवी, निमाड़ी जैसी बोलियां देवनागरी के करीबी हैं और वे इसी लिपि को अपना चुकी हैं। इसलिए देवनागरी का कोई विकल्प हो ही नहीं सकता।
बालेन्दु दाधीच/ वरिष्ठ पत्रकार व तकनीक विशेषज्ञ : चेतन भगत जैसे लेखक जब इस धारा से जुड़ते हैं तो चुनौती गंभीर हो जाती है। कहां तो हम सब कहते हैं कि देवनागरी एकमात्र लिपि है जो विश्व की किसी भी भाषा को अंकित करने में सक्षम है और कहां स्वनामधन्य, स्वयंसिद्ध, सर्वज्ञाता महानुभावों को अपनी समस्त सीमाओं और त्रुटियों के बावजूद रोमन लिपि में मोक्ष दिखाई देता है। अपने अखबार कई बार गैर-जिम्मेदाराना रुख अपनाते हैं जब वे ऐसे मुद्दों पर एकपक्षीय राय को छापते हैं और दूसरे पक्ष को अपनी राय प्रकट करने के लिए आमंत्रित नहीं करते। बड़ा अफसोस यह कि ये हिन्दी अखबार हैं।

मुझे एक दुःख इस बात का भी है कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने सत्ता संभालने के बाद शुरूआती दिनों में हिन्दी के प्रति जो अपनत्व का भाव दिखाया था और अपनी बात को हिन्दी में प्रखरता से कहकर व्यापक स्तर पर संदेश भेजा था (जिसका प्रभाव चेतन भगत, स्वामीनाथन एस अंकलेसरिया अय्यर, जुग सुरैया, शोभा डे जैसे लोगों पर पड़ता), वह अब धीरे-धीरे क्षीण हो रहा है। शुरूआती धमाके के बाद स्वयं मोदी जी भी अनेक मौकों पर अंग्रेजी में बोलने का मोह नहीं छोड़ पा रहे। आखिर क्यों?

बड़ी उम्मीद थी कि इस सरकार के दौर में हिन्दी उपेक्षा के दौर से बाहर आ जाएगी। तीन महीने पहले की अपेक्षा आज यह उम्मीद कमजोर पड़ी है। खैर, मैंने विषय को मोड़ दे दिया, क्षमा करें। बहरहाल, चेतन भगत को इस बौद्धिक जुगाली का जवाब दिया जाना चाहिए। वैसे आदरणीय असगर वजाहत जी ने भी यह मुद्दा उठाया था। लेकिन शायद अब वे भी मानते हैं कि हिन्दी के लिए देवनागरी ही स्वाभाविक लिपि है।
मुझे एक दुःख और है कि इस तरह के मुद्दे उठाए जाने पर भी हिन्दी विमर्श में विशेष हलचल नहीं होती। आखिर क्यों? कितना अच्छा होता कि यह हिन्दी के हक में आवाज उठाने का प्रबल मंच बन जाता।

लेकिन चेतन भगत यह भूल रहे हैं कि देवनागरी की दुनिया किताबों से परे भी है। हिन्दी की किताबों का कम बिकना कई कारणों से है और देवनागरी स्क्रिप्ट को ही इसके लिए ज़िम्मेदार ठहराना, समस्या का सरलीकरण है। न्यूज़पेपर के मामले में भाषा का गणित पूरी तरह उलट जाता है और वही देवनागरी, न्यूज़पेपर मार्केट में सर्कूलेशन की रानी बनी नज़र आती है। विज्ञापनों की दुनिया का भी सच यही है। भारत जैसे उभरते बाज़ार में, जहाँ करोड़ों लोगों का साक्षर होना अभी बाक़ी है, वहां मुझे नहीं लगता कि देवनागरी पर फ़िलहाल कोई संकट आने वाला है। कई करोड़ लोग देवनागरी में ही साक्षर होने वाले हैं।
माइक्रोसॉफ़्ट से लेकर गूगल और फेसबुक से लेकर कई सोशल साइट्स और एप्स हिन्दी और देवनागरी के साथ जीना सीख रहे हैं। मुझे नहीं मालूम की चेतन भगत किस दुनिया में रहते हैं।
