वेदों का तत्व ज्ञान है उपनिषद और उपनिषदों का सार है गीता। भगवान श्रीकृष्ण ने कुरुक्षेत्र के मैदान में महाभारत युद्ध के दौरान अर्जुन को जो ज्ञान दिया था वह गीता के नाम से प्रसिद्ध हुआ। गीता में जीवन की हर समस्याओं का समाधान है। गीता में हर तरह का ज्ञान है लेकिन आओ जानते हैं गीता ज्ञान की प्रसिद्ध 10 बातें।

1. 'न कोई मरता है और न ही कोई मारता है, सभी निमित्त मात्र हैं...सभी प्राणी जन्म से पहले बिना शरीर के थे, मरने के उपरांत वे बिना शरीर वाले हो जाएंगे। यह तो बीच में ही शरीर वाले देखे जाते हैं, फिर इनका शोक क्यों करते हो।'

2. आत्मा को न शस्त्र काट सकते हैं, न आग उसे जला सकती है। न पानी उसे भिगो सकता है, न हवा उसे सुखा सकती है।

3. हे अर्जुन! तू न शोक करने योग्य मनुष्यों के लिए शोक करता है और पण्डितों के से वचनों को कहता है, परन्तु जिनके प्राण चले गए हैं, उनके लिए और जिनके प्राण नहीं गए हैं उनके लिए भी पण्डितजन शोक नहीं करते। एक न एक दिन सभी मारे जाएंगे। कोई आज मर रहा है तो कोई कल मरेगा। यह मृत्युलोक है और मृत्यु ही सबसे बड़ा रोग है। मृत्यु को छोड़कर अमृत के बारे में सोचो।

4. कर्म पर ही तुम्हारा अधिकार है, लेकिन कर्म के फलों में कभी नहीं...इसलिए कर्म को फल के लिए मत करो और न ही काम करने में तुम्हारी आसक्ति हो। जिसका मन अपने वश में है, जो जितेन्द्रिय एवं विशुद्ध अन्तःकरण वाला है और सम्पूर्ण प्राणियों का आत्मरूप परमात्मा ही जिसका आत्मा है, ऐसा कर्मयोगी कर्म करता हुआ भी लिप्त नहीं होता। कर्मो में कुशलता को ही योग कहते हैं।

5. क्रोध से मनुष्य की मति मारी जाती है यानी मूढ़ हो जाती है जिससे स्मृति भ्रमित हो जाती है। स्मृति-भ्रम हो जाने से मनुष्य की बुद्धि नष्ट हो जाती है और बुद्धि का नाश हो जाने पर मनुष्य खुद अपना ही का नाश कर बैठता है।

6. हे अर्जुन! सभी धर्मों को त्याग कर अर्थात हर आश्रय को त्याग कर केवल मेरी शरण में आओ, मैं तुम्हें सभी पापों से मुक्ति दिला दूंगा, इसलिए शोक मत करो।...माया द्वारा जिनका ज्ञान हरा जा चुका है, ऐसे आसुर-स्वभाव को धारण किए हुए, मनुष्यों में नीच, दूषित कर्म करने वाले मूढ़ लोग मुझको नहीं भजते॥....परन्तु उन अल्प बुद्धिवालों का वह फल नाशवान है तथा वे देवताओं को पूजने वाले देवताओं को प्राप्त होते हैं और मेरे भक्त चाहे जैसे ही भजें, अन्त में वे मुझको ही प्राप्त होते हैं॥

7. काम, क्रोध तथा लोभ- ये तीन प्रकार के नरक के द्वार ( सर्व अनर्थों के मूल और नरक की प्राप्ति में हेतु होने से यहां काम, क्रोध और लोभ को 'नरक के द्वार' कहा है) आत्मा का नाश करने वाले अर्थात्‌ उसको अधोगति में ले जाने वाले हैं। अतएव इन तीनों को त्याग देना चाहिए॥

8. श्री भगवान बोले- मैं लोकों का नाश करने वाला बढ़ा हुआ महाकाल हूं। इस समय इन लोकों को नष्ट करने के लिए प्रवृत्त हुआ हूं। इसलिए जो प्रतिपक्षियों की सेना में स्थित योद्धा लोग हैं, वे सब तेरे बिना भी नहीं रहेंगे अर्थात तेरे युद्ध न करने पर भी इन सबका नाश हो जाएगा॥

9. जगत के ये दो प्रकार के- शुक्ल और कृष्ण अर्थात देवयान और पितृयान मार्ग सनातन माने गए हैं। इनमें एक द्वारा गए (मृत्यु को प्राप्त) हुए को वापस नहीं लौटना पड़ता, वह परमगति को प्राप्त होता है और दूसरे के द्वारा गया हुआ फिर वापस आता है अर्थात्‌ जन्म-मृत्यु को प्राप्त होता है।

10. अब पढ़िए गीता का सार :-

• क्यों व्यर्थ की चिंता करते हो? किससे व्यर्थ डरते हो? कौन तुम्हें मार सकता है? आत्मा न पैदा होती है, न मरती है।

• जो हुआ, वह अच्छा हुआ, जो हो रहा है, वह अच्छा हो रहा है, जो होगा, वह भी अच्छा ही होगा। तुम भूत का पश्चाताप न करो। भविष्य की चिंता न करो। वर्तमान चल रहा है।

• तुम्हारा क्या गया, जो तुम रोते हो? तुम क्या लाए थे, जो तुमने खो दिया? तुमने क्या पैदा किया था, जो नाश हो गया? न तुम कुछ लेकर आए, जो लिया यहीं से लिया। जो दिया, यहीं पर दिया। जो लिया, इसी (भगवान) से लिया। जो दिया, इसी को दिया।
