न्यूयॉर्क। अमेरिका में रहने वाले मध्यप्रदेश के अनिवासी भारतीयों ने तीसरा वार्षिक पिकनिक समारोह रविवार को मनाया। प्रिंसटन कंट्री क्लब के पिकनिक एरिया में मनाए गए इस समारोह में करीब 300 लोग शामिल हुए। इस पिकनिक में मध्यप्रदेश के कई बड़े शहरों के अमेरिका में रहने वाले परिवार के सदस्य शामिल हुए। यह पूरा पिकनिक कार्यक्रम इंदौरी तर्ज पर आयोजित किया गया। इस आयोजन में भारत के प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी को भी उनके जन्मदिन पर लोगों ने शुभकामनाएं प्रेषित कीं।
कई बार पहली बार आयोजित हुए इस समारोह की आयोजन समिति ने 'इंदौर के सराफा' की तर्ज पर सुबह का नाश्ता रखा गया। (विदित हो कि 'इंदौर का सराफा' इंदौर में अपने लजीज व्यंजनों के लिए जाना जाता है।) इस अवसर पर परंपरागत इंदौरी पकवान जैसे पोहे और इंदौरी सेव, कचौरी, साबूदाने की खिचड़ी और मसालेदार गराडू़ परोसा गया। इसके साथ ठंडा जलजीरा भी था। दोपहर के भोजन में दाल, बाटी, चूरमा एक विशेष थाली में परोसा गया। स्थान के माहौल को समूचे पिकनिक एरिया को उन बैनरों को प्लास्टिक की मदद से लगाया गया जोकि मध्य प्रदेश की अद्भुत विशेषताओं को प्रदर्शित करते थे। इंदौरी खाने को भी बहुत सराहा गया।
शानदार खाने के बाद विविध खेलों, मनोरंजक गतिविधियों, एमी के स्मृतिचिन्हों के साथ फोटो बूथ, बर्फ के गोले और इंदौरी स्टाइल की ठंडाई थी तो दम्पत्तियों, महिलाओं और बच्चों के लिए भी बहुत कुछ था। इस मौके पर क्रिकेट और बॉलीवॉल के खेल भी पूरी रुचि के साथ खेले गए। पिछले वर्षों की भांति, उपस्थित लोगों की पहचान के टैग्स (लेबल) भी हिंदी में थे।

इस पिकनिक के जरिए मध्य प्रदेश के अलग-अलग शहरों के अमेरिका में बसे भारतीय लोगों को एक जगह मिलने , मनोरंजन का मजा लेने और एक दूसरे के बारे में जानकारी हासिल करने का अवसर मिला। बहुत से ऐसे लोग भी थे जोकि इस आयोजन के जरिए 10-15 साल बाद एक दूसरे से मिले। कार्यक्रम की आयोजन समिति पिछले छह माह से ज्यादा से इसकी तैयारी कर रही थी। लोगों में कार्यक्रम को लेकर इतना अधिक उत्साह था कि पिकनिक क्षेत्र की क्षमताओं के कारण बहुत से लोगों को प्रतीक्षा सूची में रखा गया।
दोपहर में, फ्रेंड्स ऑफ एम.पी. के शुभकामना संदेशों को पढ़ा गया जोकि मध्य प्रदेश के
मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह, भाजपा के राष्ट्रीय महासचिव
कैलाश विजयवर्गीय और राज्य के
मुख्य सचिव एस.के. मिश्रा की ओर से थे। इस दिन देश के प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी का भी जन्म दिन था सो लोगों ने उनके जन्म दिवस पर शुभकामनाएं भेजीं। पिकनिक के लिए शुभकामनाएं न्यूयॉर्क स्थिति भारतीय महावाणिज्यदूत कार्यालय से भी आईं और पिकनिक में मौजूद ज्यादातर लोग मध्य प्रदेश से थे और अन्य भारतीय सामाजिक सांस्कृतिक संगठनों से जुड़े लोग भी थे।
