अपने शरीर की गरिमा का ख़याल और निजता की एक समझ आ जाने की उम्र के बाद दुनिया का हर इन्सान (स्त्री-पुरुष के भेद से परे) सबसे ज़्यादा अगर किसी चीज़ से डरता है, तो वह है अपने शरीर को सम्भाल पाने की सुध-बुध खो देने से। ऐसा दो ही स्थितियों में होता है। एक जब सचमुच कोई सुध-समझ खो दे, मानसिक रूप से विमंदित हो जाए और दूसरा हारी-बीमारी के हालात। बढ़ती उम्र के लोगों को आमतौर पर जीवन के आखिरी पड़ाव तक खुद को ना संभाल पाने का यह भय घेरने ही लगता है पर बीमारी की हालत में उम्र कोई मायने नहीं रखती। किसी भी उम्र का इन्सान हो निर्भरता और बेसुध होने की स्थितियाँ बन ही जाती हैं।

बीमारी से जूझ रहे किसी अपने-पराये की मनःस्थिति समझने का मौका तो आया होगा ना ज़िन्दगी में कभी ना कभी? नहीं तो ख़ुद कभी बीमार हुए होंगे ? महिलाएँ तो समझ ही सकती हैं कि माँ बनने के बाद कैसे कुछ अरसे तक खुद को संभलाने का होश होने के बावजूद सब सधा, स्वच्छ और संभला सा नहीं लगता। बाल बिखरे से, हाल उजड़े से। कौन चाहता है कि वह उस हाल में सभी के सामने आए ? कोई नहीं ना ? फिर से सोचिए । पक्का जवाब मिलेगा - हाँ, कोई नहीं चाहता, बिलकुल भी नहीं। इतना भर सोचिए और ठीक इसी पल अपनी जर्जर काया के बारे में सोचकर डर जाएंगे/जाएंगी आप, सिहर उठेगा मन।

स्मार्ट फ़ोन के लगभग सारे फिल्टर और चेहरे को सुंदर दिखाने के तमाम इंतज़ाम के बाद अपनी तस्वीरें शेयर करने वाले, 'यह भी जिन्दगी का रंग है' टाइप के कारण तो बिलकुल ना दें । बिलकुल भी नहीं। 'हमने तो सोचा ही नहीं', यह तो और भी फरेबी वजह है । सोचा और ख़ूब सोचा है आपने ।पोस्ट की टीआरपी के लिए कुछ अलग हो, यह सोचा है। सनसनी नहीं तो कुछ सिहरन पैदा करने वाला ही सही, यह सोचा है आपने।
