वर्ल्ड कप के सेमीफाइनल मुकाबले में भारत की हार के बाद गुरुवार को सूरज निकला और आगे भी निकलता रहेगा। बुधवार को न्यूजीलैंड के खिलाफ ओल्ड ट्रैफर्ड मुकाबले में भारत की हार से सबकुछ थम नहीं गया। भले ही खिलाड़ी और फैंस इस बात से बेहद निराश होंगे कि लीग मुकाबलों में सर्वश्रेष्ठ टीम होने के बाद भी नॉकआउट राउंड के पहले ही मुकाबले में टीम को हार का सामना करना पड़ा।
यह बात भी सही है कि भारतीय क्रिकेटरों के लिए जीवन ऐसे ही चलता रहेगा जैसे कि 2015 के वर्ल्ड कप सेमीफाइनल में ऑस्ट्रेलिया के हाथों मिली हार के बाद चलता रहा था। वे एक साथ भारत लौटेंगे और इस सदमे से उबरते हुए खुद को याद दिलाएंगे कि वे दुनिया की सबसे बेहतरीन टीम हैं।
बावजूद इसके यह कल्पना करना मुश्किल ही है कि विराट कोहली, महेंद्र सिंह धोनी और कोच रवि शास्त्री, किसी आईसीसी इवेंट में टीम बस में एक साथ नजर आएंगे। सवाल यह पूछा जाना चाहिए कि क्या शास्त्री ने सेमीफाइनल मुकाबले में न्यूजीलैंड के सामने रनों का पीछा करते हुए टीम इंडिया पर जो दबाव था, उसे झेलने के लिए टीम को पूरी तरह से तैयार किया था?
जैसा कि मैच से जाहिर होता है और कोहली ने भी स्वीकार किया कि जिस तरह से न्यूज़ीलैंड ने अपने रनों का बचाव किया, उससे उन्हें अचरज नहीं हुआ है। इससे यह माना जा सकता है कि शास्त्री और उनकी कोचिंग टीम ने खिलाड़ियों को तैयार किया था।
शास्त्री की उम्मीद
इस साल की शुरुआत में जब भारतीय टीम ने न्यूजीलैंड का दौरा किया था तब हैमिल्टन में गेंदबाजों को मदद देने वाली पिच पर भारतीय बल्लेबाजों का हाल शास्त्री ने देखा ही था। ऐसे में उनके दिल के किसी कोने में यही उम्मीद रही होगी कि ओल्ड ट्रैफर्ड के मैदान में भारतीय टीम का प्रदर्शन, न्यूजीलैंड की शानदार गेंदबाजी यूनिट के सामने थोड़ी बेहतर हो।
ऐसे में सवाल भारतीय खिलाड़ियों से उठता है कि क्या वे योजना को सही ढंग से लागू कर पाए या फिर अपनी पूरी क्षमता से खेले? दिनेश कार्तिक, ऋषभ पंत और हार्दिक पांड्या के खराब शाट्स चयन और कप्तान के चयन और रणनीतिक फैसले के लिए जिम्मेदार ठहराना सही नहीं होगा, वैसे भी टॉस के बाद टीम को चलाने का काम कप्तान का ही होता है।
टॉस से पहले कोहली ने मोहम्मद शमी पर तरजीह देते हुए दिनेश कार्तिक को अतिरिक्त बल्लेबाज के तौर पर चुना ताकि शुरुआती झटके लगें तो टीम को मुश्किल नहीं हो। हालांकि न्यूज़ीलैंड की पारी में जब हेनरी निकोलस, रॉस टेलर अपने कप्तान केन विलियम्सन की मदद कर रहे थे तब टीम मोहम्मद शमी के विकेट चटकाने की खूबी की कमी महसूस हुई।
इस फैसले का दूसरा नुकसान तब हुआ जब दिनेश कार्तिक बल्लेबाजी में कुछ खास नहीं कर पाए। वे 6.5 ओवरों तक विकेट पर रहे लेकिन कुछ खास नहीं कर पाए।
टीम के दबाव को कम करने की बजाए वे आउट हो गए, जिससे बाकी के बल्लेबाजों पर अतिरिक्त दबाव बढ़ गया। उनको प्लेइंग इलेवन में खिलाने का फैसला टीम इंडिया के खिलाफ गया। 11वें ओवर में जब भारत के 24 रन पर चार विकेट गिर गए थे तब धोनी की जगह बल्लेबाजी करने के लिए हार्दिक पांड्या उतरे।

चौंकाने वाले फ़ैसला
कोहली ने ऋषभ पंत का साथ देने के लिए पांड्या को भेजा। यह चौंकाने वाला फैसला था क्योंकि इन दोनों क्रिकेटरों के पास कुल मिलाकर महज 63 वनडे मैचों का अनुभव था लेकिन इन्हें यहां बड़ी जिम्मेदारी निभानी थी। कोहली ने युवा खिलाड़ियों में भरोसा दिखाया और उन्हें अपने अंदाज में खेलने को कहा, यह अच्छी बात है। लेकिन यह भी देखना होगा कि यह वर्ल्ड कप का सेमीफाइनल मुकाबला था औऱ न्यूजीलैंड के सामने भारतीय टीम पर दबाव बढ़ रहा था।
ऐसे में बेहतर होता कि धोनी को पंत का साथ देने के लिए भेजा जाता, खासकर तब जब बाएं हाथ के स्पिनर मिचेल सैंटनर उन्हें गलत शाट् खेलने के लिए मजबूर कर रहे थे।
यह भी विडंबना थी कि सेमीफाइनल से पहले धोनी की नीयत (नीयत की कमी) पर लोग चर्चा कर रहे थे। लीग मुकाबले में इंग्लैंड के हाथों मिली हार और सेमीफाइनल में धोनी ने कुछ गेंदों को खाली जाने दिया जिससे ना केवल फैंस बल्कि सचिन तेंदुलकर ने भी आलोचना की। इसे उनमें पॉजिटिव नीयत की कमी के तौर पर देखा गया।
कोहली ने संकेत दिया कि उन्हें वर्ल्ड कप में धोनी के स्ट्राइक रेट से कोई समस्या नहीं है। उन्होंने इसे एक्सप्लेन करते हुए कहा कि धोनी को जिम्मेदारी दी गई थी कि अगर स्थिति खराब हो तो वे विकेट पर टिके रहे और आखिरी के छह सात ओवरों में बड़े शाट्स लगाएं।
लेकिन सच्चाई ये है कि कोहली या कोई और धोनी के स्ट्राइक रेट पर सवाल कैसे उठा सकते हैं जब उनका स्ट्राइक रेट 87.78 का हो। इस टूर्नामेंट में रोहित शर्मा का स्ट्राइक रेट 98.33 और कोहली का स्ट्राइक रेट 94.05 का रहा। इन दोनों के अलावा धोनी से ज्यादा रन केएल राहुल ने बनाए जिनका स्ट्राइक 77.46 रहा। ऐसे में धोनी के स्ट्राइक रेट को मुद्दा बनाकर उनकी उपयोगिता पर सवाल उठाना गलत है।
अब टीम इंडिया को क्या करना चाहिए
इस बात में भी कोई शक नहीं है कि केवल धोनी ही अपने संन्यास का फैसला ले सकते हैं। क्योंकि यह व्यक्तिगत पसंद पर निर्भर करता है और जब उन्हें लगेगा कि वे टीम में अपना योगदान नहीं दे सकते हैं तब वे यह फैसला लेंगे। अगर वे संन्यास लेने का फैसला नहीं करते हैं तो भी चयनकर्ताओं को कप्तान और संभव हो तो धोनी के साथ ही बैठकर टीम की योजना को तैयार करना चाहिए।
क्योंकि भविष्य की ओर देखना होगा और किसी विकेटकीपर-बल्लेबाज़ को इस चुनौती के लिए तैयार करना होगा। ऋषभ पंत ने खुद को टेस्ट(रिद्धिमान साहा की अनुपस्थिति में) और टी-20 में साबित किया है। ऐसे में वनडे क्रिकेट में भी चयनकर्ताओं को उन्हें मौका देना चाहिए ताकि वह अपनी क्षमता का पता लगा पाएं।
जहां तक शास्त्री की बात है, वे टीम इंडिया के मुख्य कोच बने रहते हैं या नहीं, यह फैसला बोर्ड को करना है और बोर्ड उनके कार्यकाल के आधार पर करेगा। हालांकि यह भी देखना होगा कि वे इस पद पर बने रहना चाहते हैं और उसके दबाव को कब तक झेलना चाहते हैं? इसका पता भी समय के साथ ही चलेगा।
बहरहाल, वर्ल्ड कप सेमीफाइनल में भारत की हार के बाद सूरज तो हर दिन निकलता रहेगा लेकिन कोहली, धोनी और शास्त्री की तिकड़ी अगले आईसीसी इवेंट में एक साथ ड्रेसिंग रूम में नजर नहीं आएगी- अगला आईसीसी वर्ल्ड टी-20 अगले साल अक्टूबर-नवंबर में ऑस्ट्रेलिया में होना है। चार साल बाद भारत में ही वर्ल्ड कप होना है।
ऐसे में वक्त आ गया है कि टीम इंडिया इस हार से उबर कर आगे बढ़े और हर नए दिन को एक अवसर के तौर पर देखे।
