'चीनी सेना ने मई की शुरुआत में लद्दाख में अतिक्रमण किया था...' ये स्वीकार करने वाला एक दस्तावेज़ भारतीय रक्षा मंत्रालय की वेबसाइट पर मंगलवार को प्रकाशित किया गया था लेकिन 2 दिन के भीतर ही इसे हटा दिया गया। यह दस्तावेज़ रक्षा मंत्रालय की वेबसाइट पर 'वॉट्स न्यू' सेक्शन में उपलब्ध था लेकिन अब गुरुवार को यह पेज मौजूद नहीं है।
मंगलवार को प्रकाशित हुए इस डॉक्युमेंट में लिखा हुआ था, '5 मई से वास्तविक नियंत्रण रेखा (एलएसी) पर ख़ासकर गलवान घाटी में चीनी आक्रामकता लगातार बढ़ रही है। चीनी पक्ष ने 17-18 मई को कुंगरांग नाला, गोगरा और पैंगॉन्ग झील के उत्तरी किनारे पर अतिक्रमण किया था।'
'चाइनीज़ अग्रेशन ऑन एलएसी' नामक शीर्षक वाले इस दस्तावेज़ में कहा गया था कि स्थिति को क़ाबू में करने के लिए दोनों पक्षों की सेनाओं के बीच बातचीत भी हुई थी। इसी सिलसिले में 6 जून को दोनों देशों के बीच लेफ़्टिनेंट जनरल स्तर की बातचीत भी हुई थी। इसके बावजूद 15 जून को दोनों देशों की सेनाओं के बीच संघर्ष हुआ जिससे दोनों पक्षों में मौतें हुईं।'
रक्षा मंत्रालय के इस बयान में कहा गया था कि पूर्वी लद्दाख में चीन की एकतरफ़ा आक्रामकता की वजह से हालात तनावपूर्ण हो रहे हैं। दस्तावेज़ में लिखा था, 'ये क्षेत्र लगातार संवेदनशील बना हुआ है इसलिए इस पर क़रीब से निगरानी रखने और बदलती स्थिति को देखते हुए जल्द कार्रवाई की ज़रूरत है।'
राहुल गांधी का तीखा हमला
हालांकि गुरुवार सुबह ये दस्तावेज़ रक्षा मंत्रालय की वेबसाइट से ग़ायब हो गया। वेबसाइट से दस्तावेज़ ग़ायब होने की ख़बर आते ही कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी ने एक के बाद एक ट्वीट करके मोदी सरकार पर निशाना साधा और पूछा कि 'प्रधानमंत्री झूठ क्यों बोल रहे हैं?'
उन्होंने लिखा, 'चीन का सामना करना तो दूर की बात, भारत के प्रधानमंत्री में उनका नाम तक लेने का साहस नहीं है। इस बात से इंकार करना कि चीन हमारी मातृभूमि पर है और वेबसाइट से दस्तावेज़ हटाने से तथ्य नहीं बदलेंगे।' भारत-चीन सीमा पर जारी विवाद को सुलझाने के लिए दोनों देश लगातार सैन्य वार्ताएं कर रहे हैं लेकिन अब तक इनका कोई ठोस नतीजा सामने नहीं आ सका है। पिछले रविवार को भारत और चीन में लेफ़्टिनेंट जनरल रैंक के अधिकारियों के बीच बातचीत हुई थी, जो बेनतीजा रही।
इससे पहले तनावग्रस्त इलाक़ों से सेनाओं के पीछे हटने को लेकर भी दोनों देशों के बयान अलग-अलग रहे हैं। चीनी पक्ष जहां ये दावा करता रहा है कि विवाद वाली ज़्यादातर जगहों से सेना पीछे हट चुकी है, वहीं भारत का कहना था कि इस दिशा में 'कुछ प्रगति' हुई है।

विपक्षी कांग्रेस पार्टी, ख़ासकर राहुल गांधी चीन के साथ सीमा विवाद पर शुरुआत से ही काफ़ी मुखर होकर सरकार पर हमला बोल रहे हैं। इससे पहले उन्होंने कहा था कि चीन मामले पर देश को केंद्र सरकार के 'कायराना रुख़' की भारी क़ीमत चुकानी पड़ेगी।
राहुल गांधी ने ये बात रक्षामंत्री राजनाथ सिंह के उस बयान के जवाब में कही थी जिसमें राजनाथ सिंह ने कहा था, 'मामला (भारत-चीन तनाव) हल होना चाहिए लेकिन कहां तक हल होगा, इस संबंध में मैं कोई गारंटी नहीं दे सकता। लेकिन मैं इतना यक़ीन दिलाना चाहता हूं कि भारत की 1 इंच ज़मीन को भी दुनिया की कोई ताक़त छू नहीं सकती, उस पर क़ब्ज़ा नहीं कर सकती।'
