પદ્મશ્રી ડૉ. તેજસ પટેલે વિશ્વની ફર્સ્ટ-ઈનહ્યુમન ટેલિરોબોટિક કોરોનરી ઈન્ટરવેન્શન પ્રોસીજર કરી ૩૨ કિ.મી. દૂર રહેલા દર્દીના હૃદયની આર્ટરીમાં સફળતાપૂર્વક સ્ટેન્ટ મૂકી વિશ્વ વિક્રમ સ્થાપિત કર્યો છે. તેમની આ પ્રોસિજરથી ભારતના તબીબી વિજ્ઞાનના ઈતિહાસમાં નોંધપાત્ર સિદ્ધિ હાંસલ થઈ છે. ગાંધીનગર અક્ષરધામ મંદિર સંકુલમાં તેમણે સંતો-મહંતોના આશીર્વાદ મેળવી બુધવારે બપોરે ત્રણ કલાકે આ પ્રોસિજર હાથ ધરી હતી. અક્ષરધામ મંદિરમાં બેઠાબેઠા ઈન્ટરનેટના માધ્યમ થકી તેમણે ૩૨ કિ.મી. દૂર એસ.જી. હાઈવે સ્થિત એપેક્સ હોસ્પિટલમાં દર્દી પર ટેલિરોબોટિક કોરોનરી ઈન્ટરવેન્શનની સફળ પ્રોસિજર કરી ઈતિહાસ સર્જ્યો હતો.

આ વિરલ ઘટનાથી વિશ્વભરમાં દૂર અંતરના ટેલિરોબોટિક પ્લેટફોર્મ માટે માર્ગ મોકળો બન્યો છે.ડૉ. તેજસ પટેલે આ અંગે કહ્યું કે, ‘આ રોબોટિક PCI (પરક્યુટેશન કોરોનરી ઈન્ટરવેન્શન) હાર્ટમાં સ્ટેન્ટિંગ કરવાના ઉપયોગમાં આવશે. સાથોસાથ સ્ટ્રોકના દર્દીઓ માટે પણ આ ટેકનોલોજી ખૂબ ઉપયોગી સાબિત થશે’. તેઓએ વિશ્વની આ પ્રથમ પ્રોસિજર અને ટેકનોલોજી પરમ પૂજ્ય પ્રમુખસ્વામી મહારાજને અર્પણ કરી હતી. 
તેમણે કહ્યું કે, ‘આ ટેકનોલોજી મારફતે હું હૃદયની સારવાર પદ્ધતિમાં લાખો લોકો માટે અદ્યતન પરિવર્તન લાવવા માગું છું’.‘વિશ્વની આ પ્રથમ પ્રોસિજર કરવા તેમણે અક્ષરધામ મંદિર કેમ પસંદ કર્યું’? તેનો જવાબ આપતા તેમણે કહ્યું કે, ‘અક્ષરધામ વિજ્ઞાન અને આધ્યાત્મનું તથા પરંપરા અને ટેકનોલોજીનું સંગમ સ્થાન છે જે માત્ર તબીબી ક્ષેત્રે જ નહીં, પરંતુ માનવતાના તમામ ક્ષેત્રને શાંતિ અને અધ્યાત્મ, સુગમતા અને સર્જનાત્મકતા પૂરી પાડે છે.’
