ઇદ શબ્દ મૂળ ‘અવદ’ પરથી આવ્યો છે. ‘અવદ’નો અર્થ કોઈપણ બાબતનું પુનરાવર્તન થવું. દર વર્ષે પાછી ફરતી ખુશી એટલે ઇદ. ઇદનું મહત્ત્વ ઇસ્લામમાં બાહ્ય ખુશી પૂરતું સીમિત નથી. ઇદની ખુશી સાથે એકતા, શાંતિ, સમર્પણ, સમાનતા, ઇબાદત અને ખુદાની નેઅમતો (મહેરબાનીઓ)નો શુક્ર અદા કરવાની ભાવના પણ સંકળાયેલ છે.
ઈદ-ઉલ-ફિત્ર \ઈદ-અલ-ફિત્ર અથવા સાદી ભાષામાં કહીએ તો "ઈદ" ઈદ એ મુખ્યત્વે અરબી શબ્દ છે અને ફિત્ર એટલે "ઉપવાસ તોડવો થાય" ઈદ-ઉલ-ફિત્ર એ ઇસ્લામિક પ્રાર્થના છે જે મોટેભાગે સમુહમાં મોટા હોલમાં થાય છે. રમાદાનનો આ પવિત્ર મહિનો કે જેમાં મુસ્લિમો ઇપ્વાસ રાખીને ખુદાની બંદગી કરે છે , કુરાને શરીફ વાંચીને જીવનમાં ઉતારવાનો પ્રયાસ કરે છે. ઈદ-ઉલ-ફિત્ર અને ઈદ-ઉલ-અધા એ બંને દિવસોમાં મુસ્લિમો એમના ખુદા પ્રત્યે આદરભાવ અને આભારની લાગણી વ્યક્ત કરીને એમની બંદગી કરે છે.

આજથી ૧૩૯૧ વર્ષ પહેલાં ઇસ્લામના અનુયાયીઓએ ઈદ-ઉલ-ફિત્રની ઉજવણી કરવાની શરૂઆત થઈ હતી. હિજરી સન બીજી ઈ.સ. ૬૨૩ના રમજાનથી અલ્લાહે દરેક પુખ્તવય ધરાવતા મુસલમાન પર રોજા ફર્જ કર્યા અને રમજાનના રોજા પૂરા થવાને બે દિવસની વાર હતી ત્યારે પયગંબર સાહેબ(હજરત મહંમદ સ.અ.વ.)ને અલ્લાહે ઈદ-ઉલ-ફિત્રની નમાજ અને સદકા-એ-ફિત્ર માટે આયત દ્વારા ફરમાવ્યું હતું.
બેશક એ વ્યક્તિ સફળ થઈ, જેણે બૂરાઈઓથી પોતાની જાતને પાકસાફ કરી, અલ્લાહનંુ નામ લઈ નમાજ અદા કરી.

હજરત અબુલ આલિયહ અને હજરત ઉમર બિન અબ્દુલ અઝીઝ દ્વારા આ આયતનંુ અર્થઘટન કરતાં જણાવ્યું હતું કે, 'એ વ્યક્તિ તેના જીવનમાં સફળ થઈ છે જેણે સદકા-એ-ફિત્ર અદા કરી અને ઈદ-ઉલ-ફિત્રની નમાજ પઢી.લ્લ આમ, ઇસ્લામમાં ઈદ-ઉલ-ફિત્રનો પ્રારંભ થયો.ઈદનો ચાંદ દેખાય તે રાત્રિને લૈલતુલ(રાત્રિ) જાઈઝા કહેવાય છે, એટલે કે ઇનામ અને ઇકરામ મેળવવાની રાત. લૈલતુલ જાઈઝાની રાત્રે ઇબાદત કરવાનો બહુ મોટો સવાબ છે. જે કોઈ આ રાતે ઇબાદત કરવા માટે જાગશે, તેના માટે જન્નત વાજિબ થશે. દરેક મુસલમાન ભાઈ-બહેનને એ આજીજી છે કે આ રાતની બરકતનો ફાયદો લો. જિંદગી હશે તો બીજો રમજાન જોવા મળશે. કોને ખબર આવતા વર્ષે આપણે જીવતા ન પણ હોઈએ! આથી આ મુબારક રાતની બરકતથી અલ્લાહને રાજી કરી લો, બેશક તે મહેરબાન છે. તેની રહેમતમાં કોઈ કમી નથી. દુઆ માટે જ્યારે પણ હાથ અલ્લાહની બારગાહમાં ફેલાવો ત્યારે દરેક જીવના હકમાં દુઆ માગો. આપણે ગુનેગાર છીએ, આપણા તો દરેક દિવસો ગુનાથી પસાર થાય છે. આવી મુબારક રાતમાં ઇબાદત કરવાનું બધાને નસીબ થતું નથી. ચહેરા પર ગમ, અવાજમાં દર્દ, આંખમાં પાણી અને હૃદયમાં ગ્લાનિ સાથે ગુનાની મગફેરત માગવી.
ઈદ દરમિયાન આટલુ યાદ રાખો
- ઈદની નમાજ માટે સમયસર પહોંચી જાવ. નમાજ પહેલાં સદકા-એ-ફિત્ર અદા કરી દેવું. મસ્જિદ કે ઇદગાહ પર નમાજ અદા કરવા જાવ તે જ રસ્તે પાછા ન ફરો, બીજા રસ્તે ઘરે પાછા જાવ.
- ઈદની નમાજ પહેલાં ખીર કે કોઈ પણ સ્વીટ ખાઈને જાવ. નમાજ પછી મુસાફો (હસ્તધૂનન) કરો. મુસાફો કરવાથી બીજો એ પણ ફાયદો થાય છે કે અલ્લાહ મુસાફો કરનાર બંનેના ગુનાની મગફેરત કરી દે છે.
- ઈદ ખુશીનો તહેવાર છે, માટે ખુલ્લાદિલથી ખુશીનો એકરાર કરો. ઘરે આવનાર દરેક મહેમાનનો આદર અને પ્રેમથી સત્કાર કરો. મનની કડવાશને દૂર કરી નાખો. ગુનાના કામથી પોતાની જાતને સલામત રાખો, આમીન. અલ્લાહ તમામ મુસલમાનની તૂટીફૂટી ઇબાદતને કબૂલ ફરમાવે
- આજના આ પવિત્ર અવસર પર એ દરેક મુસ્લિમ ભાઈઓ બહેનોને ઈદની શુભ કામનાઓ પાઠવીએ અને એમના ધર્મમાંથી ઘણી વાતો જે આપણે સૌએ શીખવા જેવી છે એને શીખવાનો એક પ્રયાસ કરીએ.
શું સારું છે શું ખરાબ છે એની વ્યર્થ ચર્ચા કરવાની જગ્યાએ આ ધર્મમાંથી કંઇક સારું શીખે અને એને અનુસરવાનો પ્રયત્ન કરીએ તો આપણી બંદગી ખુદા જોડે પહોચી જશે. એને તો આપણી સાચી ભાવનાઓમાં રસ છે.
તેવી દુઆની સાથે દરેક વાચકને ઈદ-ઉલ-ફિત્ર મુબારક.
