શ્રી કાશી વિશ્વનાથધામના લોકાર્પણના કાર્યક્રમ માટે ત્રણ હજાર જેટલા વીઆઈપી મહેમાન વારાણસી આવ્યા છે. ભાજપશાસિત રાજ્યોના મુખ્ય મંત્રીઓ ઉપરાંત સાંસદો અને ધારાસભ્યો પણ બોલાવવામાં આવ્યા છે. તેમણે દેશભરમાંથી આવતા સાધુ-સંતોના સ્વાગતની જવાબદારી આપવામાં આવી છે.

વારાણસીમાં એક મહિનાનો ઉત્સવ પણ યોજવામાં આવશે જેનું નામ "ભવ્ય કાશી-દિવ્ય કાશી" છે. આ કાર્યક્રમમાં કાશીવાસીઓને જોડવા માટે 16 લાખ લાડુઓનો પ્રસાદ તૈયાર કરવનામાં આવ્યો છે.
