એડ્સ - સમજદારીમાં જ સુરક્ષા
આખી દુનિયામાં 33.4 મિલિયન લોકો એડ્સથી પીડિત છે અને દરેક વર્ષે 27 લાખ લોકો આનો ભોગ બની જાય છે. નેશનલ એડ્સ કંટ્રોલ ઓગ્રેનાઈઝેશનના મુજબ 2.5 મિલિયન એચઆઈવી પોઝિટીવ લોકોમાં 80,000 એ છે, જેમની વય 15 વર્ષથી પણ ઓછી છે. 9 વર્ષનો દાનિશ ભલે એંજિનિયર બનવા માંગતો હોય, પરંતુ એડ્સ નામની ઉધઈ તેના શરીરને અંદરથી ખોખલું બનાવી રહી છે. એક દિવસ એવો આવશે જ્યારે બીમારીથી હારેલુ તેનુ શરીર શ્વાસ લેવાનુ બંધ કરી દેશે. વાત કડવી છે પણ હકીકત છે.
એચઆઈવી પોઝીટીવનો મતલબ છે મોતની રાહ જોવી. જ્યારે આ વાત સર્વ જાણે છે તો પછી જાણીજોઈને આમા કેમ ફસાય રહ્યા છે. સમાજના હિતેચ્છુઓ અને સરકારને આ વિચારવાની જરૂર છે કે નિમ્ન જાતિના અને મધ્યમ વર્ગના લોકો રોજગાર માટે બહાર નીકળે છે અને ઘરે લઈને આવે છે એક એવી બીમારી જેનો કોઈ ઈલાજ નથી. બચાવ માટેનુ નિદાન બતાવે છે કે એડ્સનુ સંક્રમણ રોકવુ શક્ય છે ? શુ બચાવના એ પક્ષ પર વિચાર ન કરવો જોઈએ જે સમસ્યાનુ મૂળ છે ?

જોશને કાબૂમા રાખો - એડ્સની ઓળખ 1981માં થઈ, ત્યારે ભારતમાં તેનો એક પણ રોગી નહોતો. ત્યારે ભારત આ બીમારીને કારણે પરેશાન નહોતુ. પરંતુ એક દાયકા પહેલા જ આ ભારતીય સમાજ અને સરકાર માટે સૌથી મોટી બીમારી બની ગયુ. દેશનુ કોઈપણ રાજ્ય આ બીમારીથી બચી શક્યુ નથી. આખી દુનિયામાં 27 લાખ લોકો ગયા વર્ષે આ રોગના સંક્રમણનો શિકાર થયા. 15-24 વર્ષના લોકોની સંખ્યા આમા 50 ટકાથી વધુ છે. ભારતમાં આ આંકડો વિચારવા લાયક છે. એક અરબની વસ્તીમાં સેક્સુઅલી એક્ટિવ લોકોની સંખ્યા 50 ટકાની નજીક છે. આવા સમયે યુવાનોને એડ્સ પ્રત્યે જાગૃત કરવા માત્ર એક સૂત્ર આપવાથી કામ નહી ચાલે. સરકાર અને સમાજે વધુ વિકલ્પો પર નજર નાખવી પડશે.
સામાજીક મુદ્દો બનાવો - એડ્સને ફક્ત સ્વાસ્થ્યનો મુદ્દો ન સમજતા આને સામાજિક મુદ્દાના રૂપમાં જોવો જોઈએ. વિશેષજ્ઞોનુ કહેવુ છે કે એડ્સની સાથે-સાથે સંક્રમિત લોકોની પણ સામાજિક સુરક્ષા જરૂરી છે. સાથે સાથે નેતોઓની પણ પ્રતિબધ્ધા એડ્સના વિરુધ્ધ જરૂરી છે.
મીડિયાનો મજબૂત સાથ - આજ સુધી મીડિયાએ એડ્સ વિરુધ્ધ નોંધપાત્ર ભાગ ભજવ્યો છે અને આગળ પણ આવી જ આશા કરી શકાય છે કે મીડિયા એડ્સની લડતમાં પોતાની ભૂમિકા સારી રીતે ભજવશે.
એડ્સ વિશે જાણવા જેવુ
- એડ્સ વાયરસ 'એચઆઈવી' શરીરની જીવિત કોશિકામાં રહે છે. આ બે પ્રકારના હોય છે - એચ આઈવી1 અને એચઆઈવી2 ,
- વાયરસ વ્હાઈટ બ્લડ સેલ્સ પર હુમલો કરે છે અને તેનો નાશ કરે છે. જેને કારણે રોગપ્રતિરોધક ક્ષમતા ઘટે છે.
- અસુરક્ષિત યૌન સંબંધ એડ્સ સંક્રમણનુ મુખ્ય કારણ હોય છે, સંક્રમિત લોહી અને મા થી બાળકને પણ એડ્સ થાય છે. સંક્રમિત માતાનુ દૂધ પણ બાળકમાં સંક્રમણનુ કારણ બને છે.
- વિષાણુમુક્ત ન કરવાની હાલતમાં સેલૂનમાં વપરાયેલા ઉસ્તરા અને બ્લેડના ઉપયોગથી પણ એડ્સનો ભય.
- સંક્રમણની જાણ કરવા બ્લડ ટેસ્ટ એકમાત્ર ઉપાય. લક્ષણોના આધારે ખાતરી કરવી શક્ય નહી.
- ભારતમાં 5 હજાર ઈંટિગ્રેટેડ કાઉસલિંગ એંડ ટેસ્ટિંગ સેંટર છે. જ્યા ટેસ્ટ કર્યા બાદ અડધો કલાકમાં જ રિપોર્ટ મળી જાય છે.
