આષાઢ માસની પૂર્ણિમાને જ ગુરૂ પૂર્ણિમા કહીએ છે. આ દિવસે ગુરૂ પૂજાનો વિધાન છે. ગુરૂપૂર્ણિમા વર્ષાઋતુના શરૂઆતમાં જ આવે છે. ગુરૂપૂર્ણિમાનો આ દિવસ મહાતભારતની રચિયતરા કૃષ્ણ દ્વૈપાયન વ્યાસનો જન્મ દિવસ પણ છે. તેને ચારા વેદોની રચના કરી હતી તેથી એનું એક નામ વેદ વ્યાસ પણ છે. હિંદુ ધર્મમાં ગુરૂ પૂર્ણિમાના દિવસે લોકો ખાસ કામ કરવા જોઈએ. ધાર્મિક ગ્રંથોમાં આપેલ કામ કરવાથી પુણ્ય મળે છે. જાણૉ ક્યાં કામ કરવા જોઈએ.
- ભોજનમાં કેસરનો પ્રયોગ કરો અને સ્નાન પછી નાભિ અને માથા પર કેસરનો તિલક લગાવો.
- ગુરૂપૂર્ણિમાના દિવસે સ્નાનના જળમાં નાગરથોથા નામની વનસ્પતો નાખી સ્નાન કરો.
- પીળા રંગના ફૂલના છોડ તમારા ઘરમાં લગાવો અને પીળા રંગ ભેંટ આપો.
- કેળાના બે છોડ વિષ્ણુ ભગવાનના મંદિરમાં લગાવો.
- ગુરૂ પૂર્ણિમાના દિવસે આખા મગ મંદિરમાં દાન કરો અને 12 વર્ષની નાની કન્યાના ચરણ સ્પર્શ કરી તેનાથી આશીર્વાદ લો.
