-विकास दुबे की पत्नी और बेटे को पूछताछ के बाद छोड़ दिया गया है।
-पुलिस महानिरीक्षक मोहित अग्रवाल ने बताया कि सड़क हादसे के बाद दुबे ने मौके से भागने का प्रयास किया, जिसके बाद हुई मुठभेड़ में वह मारा गया।
-पुलिस वाहन पलटने से पुलिस निरीक्षक सहित चार पुलिसकर्मी घायल भी हो गए, जिनमें से एक की हालत गंभीर है।
-कानपुर के वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधीक्षक दिनेश कुमार पी ने बताया कि सड़क दुर्घटना सुबह हई। उन्होंने कहा कि तेज बारिश हो रही थी। पुलिस ने गाड़ी तेज भगाने की कोशिश की जिससे वह डिवाइडर से टकराकर पलट गई और उसमें बैठे पुलिसकर्मी घायल हो गए।
-उसी मौके का फायदा उठाकर दुबे ने पुलिस के एक जवान की पिस्तौल छीनकर भागने की कोशिश की और कुछ दूर भाग भी गया।
-कुमार ने कहा, 'तभी पीछे से एस्कार्ट कर रहे एसटीएफ के जवानों ने उसे गिरफ्तार करने की कोशिश की और उसी दौरान उसने एसटीएफ पर गोली चला दी जिसके जवाब में जवानों ने भी गोली चलाई और वह घायल होकर गिर पड़ा। हमारे जवान उसे अस्पताल लेकर गए जहां इलाज के दौरान उसकी मौत हो गई।'

-6:00 - बारा टोल कानपुर देहात से कानपुर नगर की तरफ रवाना हुई।
-सुबह 6:15 बजे कानपुर देहात बॉर्डर रायपुर से नगर में प्रवेश किया।
-सुबह 6:30 एसटीएफ की गाड़ी पलटने की सूचना आई। कुछ देर बाद अपराधी विकास दुबे के भागने को लेकर गोली चलाने की सूचना आई।
