सूफियाना अंदाज का यह गीत आपने जरूर सुना होगा, हो सकता है यह आपके पसंदीदा गानों में से एक हो। सूफी संगीत में रूचि रखने वाले इसे सुनकर एक रूहानी सुकून तक महसूस करते होंगे। लेकिन बहुत से लोग बेशक इसे पंसंद भी करते हों इस गीत के बारे में नहीं जानते होंगे कि यह जिस पीर, जिस कलंदर के लिये गाया जा रहा है वह झूलेलाल आखिर हैं कौन? तो चलिये आपको बताते हैं सिंधड़ी दे इस शाहबाज कलंदर झूलेलाल की कहानी।

कौन हैं झूलेलाल

झूलेलाल असल में एक संत हुए हैं जिनकी पूजा सिंधी समाज अपने ईष्ट के रूप में करता है। हालांकि हिंदू धार्मिक ग्रंथों में झूलेलाल को जल के देवता यानि वरुण देव का अवतार माना जाता है। सिंधी समाज में मान्यता है कि झूलेलाल का अवतरण धर्म की रक्षा के लिये हुआ था।

इनके बारे में लोककथाएं तो प्रचलित हैं ही इनके अवतरण की भी एक कथा मिलती है। इस कथा के अनुसार बहुत समय पहले सिंध प्रदेश में मिरक शाह नामक बहुत ही क्रूर राजा का शासन हुआ करता था। उसके शासन काल में जनता की हालत बहुत ही दयनीय थी। राजा के अत्याचार इतने बढ़ चुके थे कि जनता को कोई भी सहारा नज़र नहीं आ रहा था। ऐसे में सभी जन दुखी मन से ईश्वर से आस लगाये बैठे थे कि वे उनका उद्धार करें। लोगों ने सिंधु नदी के किनारे जब ईश्वर का आह्वान किया तो जलदेवता उदेरोलाल जलपति के रूप में मत्स्य पर दर्शन दिये तभी नामवाणी हुई कि उन्हें कष्टों से उभारने के लिये देवता नसरपुर में रतनराय के घर माता देवकी की कोख से जन्म लेंगें और सब की मनोकामनाओं को पूरी करेंगें। जैसी की वाणी हुई थी संवत 1107 में चैत्र शुक्ल द्वीतीया को नसरपुर के ठाकुर रतनराय के घर माता देवकी ने इस चमत्कारी बालक को जन्म दिया जिसका नाम रखा गया उदयचंद। उधर जब मिरक शाह को पता चला कि तेरा अंत करने वाला पैदा हो चुका है तो उसने भी कंस की तरह चाले चलीं लेकिन भगवान श्री कृष्ण की तरह ही उदयचंद ने भी अपना चमत्कार दिखाया बादशाह के महल पर ही आग का कहर बरस पड़ा। बादशाह को घुटनों के बल चलकर झूलेलाल जी की शरण में आना पड़ा।

जवानी की दहलीज पर जैसे ही उदेरोलाल ने कदम रखा तो लोगों को धीरज बंधाना शुरू कर दिया और बेखौफ होकर जीने का संदेश दिया। बादशाह ने एक बार फिर भूल की और खामियाज़ा भुगतना पड़ा। मिरक शाह उदेरोलाल से ऐसे प्रभावित हुए की बदी का मार्ग त्याग कर नेकी का दीप जलाने निकल पड़े। झूलेलाल सर्वधर्म समभाव की अलख जगाते रहे।

झूलेलाल के नाम

झूलेलाल को जिंद पीर, लाल शाह के नाम से भी जाना जाता है विशेषकर पाकिस्तान में इन्हीं नामों की मान्यता है। हिंदुओं में भी उन्हें उदेरोलाल, लालसांई, अमरलालस जिंद पीर, लालशाह आदि नामों से जाना जाता है। उपासक इन्हें झूलेलाल के साथ-साथ घोड़ेवारो, पल्लेवारो, ज्योतिनवारो आदि नामों से भी पूजते हैं।

झूलेलाल जयंती

चैत्र मास में चंद्र दर्शन के दिन भगवान झूलेलाल की जयंती को उत्सव के रूप में अनेक जगहों पर मनाया जाता है। इनके मंदिरों में इस दिन चेटीचंड के रूप में मनाया जाता है। इस दिन जल और ज्योति के अवतार रूप की पूजा एक काष्ठ मंदिर बनाकर उसमें लोटी से जल व ज्योति प्रज्वलित कर उसे अपने सिर पर उठाकर स्तुतिगान करते हुए नाचते गाते हैं इसे बहिराणा साहब भी कहा जाता है। इस समय पर पारंपरिक नृत्य छेज किया जाता है। भारत-पाकिस्तान विभाजन के समय पाकिस्तान से विस्थापित होकर भारत में बसे सिंधी समाज के लोगों के लिये यह दिन बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण होता है।
