गोविंद द्वादशी (govinda dwadashi) व्रत भगवान गोविंद को समर्पित है और उनकी कृपा प्राप्ति हेतु द्वादशी तिथि पर इसे किया जाता है। इस बार द्वादशी व्रत 15 मार्च 2022 को किया जा रहा है। इस व्रत के दिन ब्राह्मण को दान, पितृ तर्पण, हवन आदि कार्य करने का बहुत ही महत्व माना गया है। यह व्रत सभी प्रकार का सुख, धन-वैभव देने वाला तथा समस्त पापों का नाश करने वाला माना जाता है।

फाल्गुन शुक्ल द्वादशी- 15 मार्च 2022, मंगलवार।
द्वादशी तिथि का आरंभ- सोमवार, 14 मार्च 2022 को दोपहर 12.00 बजे से।
द्वादशी तिथि की समाप्ति- मंगलवार, 15 मार्च 2022 दोपहर 1.10 मिनट पर।
राहु काल का समय- मंगलवार, अपराह्न 3:00 से 4:30 बजे तक।

govinda dwadashi katha कथा- द्वादशी के विषय में यह कथा प्रचलित है। शांतनु की पटरानी गंगा ने भीष्म पितामह को जन्म दिया। एक बार की बात है कि शांतनु गंगा नदी पार कर रहे थे तभी उन्हें केवट द्वारा परिपालित एक मत्स्यगंधा नाम की क्षत्रिय कन्या को देखा जो यौवन व सुन्दरता से परिपूर्ण थी। उसके इस यौवन व सौंदर्य ने राजा शांतनु को मंत्रमुग्ध कर दिया जिससे उन्होंने उसके संरक्षक परिपालक केवट से उस कन्या के साथ विवाह का प्रस्ताव पेश किया।
इस प्रस्ताव पर केवट ने कहा- राजन, आपके ज्येष्ठ पुत्र भीष्म आपके सारे राज्य के उत्तराधिकारी होंगे। ऐसे में मेरी इस कन्या द्वारा आपसे उत्पन्न संतान को राज्यादि नहीं प्राप्त होंगे अस्तु मैं आपको कन्या दान नहीं दे सकता हूं।
इस बात से राजा शांतनु चिंतित रहने लगे। इस चिंता का कारण जब भीष्म पितामह को लगा तो उन्होंने अपने पिता के सामने आजीवन अविवाहित रहने का संकल्प लिया। इस प्रतिज्ञा से प्रसन्न होकर राजा शांतनु ने भीष्म पितामह को इच्छा मृत्यु का वरदान दिया। किंतु जब कौरव-पांडवों का युद्ध हुआ तो वह कौरव पक्ष की तरफ से युद्ध लड़ रहे थे, दुर्योधन ने अपनी सेना की पराजय देख भीष्म पितामह पर पक्ष लेने का आरोप लगा दिया।
इस बात से उन्हें बहुत ही आघात पहुंचा, तत्पश्चात् उन्होंने अपनी पूरी ताकत युद्ध में लगा दी। जिससे पांडवों की सेना विनाश के कगार पर पहुंच गई। इस युद्ध की भयानकता से सभी व्याकुल हो उठे तथा धर्म व सत्य की रक्षा के लिए प्रभु श्री कृष्ण को अपनी प्रतिज्ञा तोड़ श्री सुदर्शन चक्र उठाना पड़ा।
भगवान के श्री सुदर्शन चक्र उठाते ही भीष्म पितामह ने युद्ध करना बंद कर दिया। जिससे अन्य योद्धाओं ने अवसर पाते ही उन पर तीरों की बौछार कर दी और वह शर शैया पर लेट गए। सूर्य दक्षिणायन होने के कारण उन्होंने अपने प्राण नहीं त्यागे क्योंकि दक्षिणायन सूर्य में मृत्यु होने से नरक लोक और उत्तरायण होने पर स्वर्ग व सद्गति प्राप्त होती है ऐसा शास्त्रों का कथन है। जैसे सूर्य उत्तरायण हुए तो माघ की अष्टमी तिथि को भीष्म पितामह ने अपने प्राण त्याग दिए। उनके तर्पण व पूजन हेतु द्वादशी तिथि को निश्चित किया गया है। जिससे इस तिथि को भीष्म द्वादशी कहा जाता है। इस तिथि पर पूर्वजों का तर्पण करने का बड़ा फल प्राप्त होता है। यह द्वादशी रोगों का नाश करने वाली मानी गई है।
