पितृ पक्ष में आने वाले गजलक्ष्मी व्रत पूजन की सरल प्रामाणिक विधि

विधि : यह व्रत आश्विन (क्वांर) कृष्ण पक्ष की अष्टमी को किया जाता है। इस व्रत को करने से पहले भादो शुक्ल अष्टमी को स्नान करके दो दूने से सकोरे में ज्वारे (गेहूं) बोये जाते हैं। प्रतिदिन 16 दिनों तक इन्हें पानी से सींचा जाता है। ज्वारे बोने के दिन ही कच्चे सूत (धागे) से 16 तार का एक डोरा बनाएं। डोरे की लंबाई इतनी लें कि आसानी से गले में पहन सकें। इस डोरे में थोड़ी-थोड़ी दूरी पर 16 गठानें लगाएं तथा हल्दी से पीला करके पूजा के स्थान पर रख दें तथा प्रतिदिन 16 दूब और 16 गेहूं चढ़ाकर पूजन करें।

आश्विन (क्वांर) कृष्ण पक्ष (बिदी) की अष्टमी के दिन उपवास (व्रत) रखें। स्नान के बाद पूर्ण श्रृंगार करें। 18 मुट्ठी गेहूं के आटे से 18 मीठी पूड़ी बनाएं। आटे का एक दीपक बनाकर 16 पु‍ड़ियों के ऊपर रखें तथा दीपक में एक घी-बत्ती रखें, शेष दो पूड़ी महालक्ष्मीजी को चढ़ाने के लिए रखें। पूजन करते समय इस दीपक को जलाएं तथा कथा पूरी होने तक दीपक जलते रखना चाहिए। अखंड ज्योति का एक और दीपक अलग से जलाकर रखें। पूजन के पश्चात इन्हीं 16 पूड़ी को बियें (सिवैंया) की खीर या मीठे दही से खाते हैं। इस व्रत में नमक नहीं खाते हैं। इन 16 पूड़ी को पति-पत्नी या पुत्र ही खाएं, अन्य किसी को नहीं दें।

मिट्टी का एक हाथी बनाएं या कुम्हार से बनवा लें जिस पर महालक्ष्मीजी की मूर्ति बैठी हो। सायंकाल जिस स्थान पर पूजन करना हो, उसे गोबर से लीपकर पवित्र करें। रंगोली बनाकर बाजोट पर लाल वस्त्र बिछाकर हाथी को रखें। तांबे का एक कलश जल से भरकर पटे के सामने रखें। एक थाली में पूजन की सामग्री (रोली, गुलाल, अबीर, अक्षत, आंटी (लाल धागा), मेहंदी, हल्दी, टीकी, सुरक्या, दोवड़ा, दोवड़ा, लौंग, इलायची, खारक, बादाम, पान, गोल सुपारी, बिछिया, वस्त्र, फूल, दूब, अगरबत्ती, कपूर, इत्र, मौसम का फल-फूल, पंचामृत, मावे का प्रसाद आदि) रखें। केल के पत्तों से झांकी बनाएं। संभव हो सके तो कमल के फूल भी चढ़ाएं। पटे पर 16 तार वाला डोरा एवं ज्वारे रखें। विधिपूर्वक महालक्ष्मीजी का पूजन करें तथा कथा सुनें एवं आरती करें। इसके बाद डोरे को गले में पहनें अथवा भुजा से बांधें।

भोजन के पश्चात रात्र‍ि जागरण तथा भजन-कीर्तन करें। दूसरे दिन प्रात:काल हाथी को जलाशय में विसर्जन करके सुहाग-सामग्री ब्राह्मण को दें।

उद्यापन विधि : सामान्यत: यह व्रत 16 वर्षों तक किया जाता है। उसके उपरांत ही व्रत का उद्यापन (उजोवना)
किया जाता है। किंतु श्री महालक्ष्मी की असीम कृपा से मनोकामना शीघ्र पूरी हो जाए तो कम समय में भी उद्यापन किया जा सकता है। लेकिन व्रत को 16 वर्षों तक ही पूरे करना चाहिए। यदि परिस्थितिवश 16 वर्ष के बाद उद्यापन नहीं कर सकें, तो व्रत को आगे भी किया जाता रहे, जब तक कि उद्यापन न हो।

किसी श्रेष्ठ विद्वान पंडित के द्वारा हवन-पूजन कराएं। पूजन की तैयारी उपरोक्त लिखी विधि के अनुसार करें। कथा सुनें, आरती करें तथा 16 जोड़ों को भोजन कराएं। पूजन के समय मिट्टी से बनाई गई मूर्ति को बिठाएं तथा ज्वारे के सामने 17 नारियल और सुहाग पूड़े की 17 टोकरी रखें जिसमें सुहाग की समस्त वस्तुएं एवं ब्लाउज पीस व रुपए रखें। इनमें से एक टोकरी श्री महालक्ष्मीजी को चढ़ाएं, इसके साथ साड़ी-ब्लाउज, पेटीकोट (सरोपाव) एवं भगवान के नाम की धोती-कुर्ता भी रखें। इनका संकल्प लें।

16 जोड़ों को भोजन कराने के पश्चात पुरुषों को पूजन में रखे गए नारियल के साथ रुपया रखकर तिलक करके दें। स्त्रियों को सुहाग पूड़ा दक्षिणा के रूप में दें। प‍ंडित को धोती-कुर्ता व दक्षिणा दें।

सबको भोजन कराने के बाद स्वयं मीठी पूड़ी, खीर या दही से खाएं। इस दिन भी नमक नहीं खाएं। रात्रि जागरण, भजन-कीर्तन करें। अखंड ज्योति जल्दी रहना चाहिए। प्रात:काल हाथी एवं फूल-पत्ते आदि को जलाशय में विसर्जन करें। इसके बाद शेष बचा हुआ सुहाग पूड़ा, लक्ष्मीजी को चढ़ाए गए वस्त्र एवं नारियल, धोती-कुर्ता अपने सास-ससुर अथवा ननद-ननदोई अथवा जेठ-जेठानी अथवा किसी बड़े को देकर उनसे आशीर्वाद प्राप्त करें।
