दिल्ली हिंसा और हम भारत के लोग : जब एक सरदार ने अपने मान (पगड़ी) से बचाया बच्ची का सम्मान

एक तरफ दिल्ली के जलने और झुलसने के समाचार आंखों के सामने से गुजर रहे थे और दूसरी तरफ मेरे सामने बैठे थे एक फरिश्ते, इंसानियत के मसीहा, इंदौर के फादर टेरेसा अमरजीत सिंह सूदन. ...एक तरफ जहां धर्म, जाति और संप्रदाय को जानकर-पूछकर मारा जा रहा है वहीं दूसरी तरफ एक इंसान जो धर्म को देखे, जाने बिना मानवता का सहारा बन रहा है। 

अमरजीत सिंह जो काम करते हैं वह कोई भी सुविधासंपन्न और सामान्य जिंदगी जी रहा इंसान कर ही नहीं सकता। जिन लावारिस, अपाहिज, मानसिक तौर पर मंद बुद्धि के लोग, असहाय, पीड़ित और गरीबों की दुर्दशा और गंदगी देखकर आप मुंह पर कपड़ा लगा लेते हैं, चेहरा फेर लेते हैं, अमरजीत सिंह बरसों से उनका हाथ थाम कर इंसानियत की इबारत रच रहे हैं... एक बहुत बड़ा दिल, बहुत गहरी भावनाएं और बहुत ऊंची इंसानियत चाहिए अमरजीत सिंह जैसा काम करने के लिए... बहुत हौसला चाहिए अपना हाथ बढ़ा कर एक कमजोर और जर्जर हाथ थामने के लिए.. 

इंदौर में वे पापाजी के नाम से मशहूर हैं.. हर किसी के पापाजी, पागलों के पापाजी, गरीबों के पापाजी, गूंगे बहरों के पापाजी और यहां तक कि लावारिस लाशों के पापाजी... सोच कर सिहर उठता है मन लेकिन वे यह काम जिस उदारता से करते हैं उन्हें देखकर गर्व हो आता है भारत की धरा पर ....जहां आज भी ऐसे इंसान बसते हैं, ऐसे मानव रहते हैं... 

जब भी शर्म आएगी सांप्रदायिक हिंसा के अवशेषों को देखकर अमरजीत सिंह जैसे नाम तसल्ली देंगे कि अभी भी सब कुछ खत्म नहीं हुआ है।

दिल्ली हिंसा के शातिरों, सोच से अपाहिज दंगाइयों जरा सुनें अमरजीत सिंह की कहानी कि कैसे वे अपने 'मान' (पगड़ी) से एक बच्ची का सम्मान रखते हैं। कैसे वे बिना सोचे अपनी पगड़ी अपने धर्म की लाज उतार कर पानी में डूबी एक 13 वर्षीया निर्वस्त्र बेटी को सैकड़ों की भीड़ में ओढ़ा देते हैं, उठाकर अस्पताल चल देते हैं और निर्लज्ज भीड़ तमाशाई बनी रह जाती है।

कैसे वे मलमूत्र में सराबोर एड्स के मरीज को साफ कर अपने हाथों से चाय बिस्किट देकर जीवन देते हैं और कैसे अपने जन्मदिन पर केक कटने से पहले आए फोन पर भाग कर जाते हैं और पहले लावारिस लाश का दाह संस्कार करते हैं.... नहीं सुन सकते हम-तुम यह कहानियां क्योंकि जो खून और हत्या को अपना धर्म मानता है उन्हें नहीं कर सकती ऐसी मर्मांतक सचाइयां विचलित...

अमरजीत सिंह सूदन

जानिए इंसानियत की असली कहानी: अमरजीत सिंह की इंसानियत के किस्सों से भरी दास्तां तब शुरू होती है जब वे 14 साल के थे। उन्हें एक महिला दिखाई दी जिसके पास उसके पति का शव रखा था और दाह संस्कार के पैसे नहीं थे। स्वभाव से उदार अमरजीत सिंह ने पूछा और घर जाकर अपनी गुल्लक से 12 रुपए निकाले और महिला के साथ तांगा कर दाह स्थल तक पंहुचे। 

इस सब में देरी का कारण जब घर पर पिता ने जानना चाहा तो अमरजीत ने आपबीती सुना दी... पिता का कंठ अवरूद्ध हो गया। आशीर्वाद की बरसात कर दी। और फिर उस दिन से सेवा और मदद का यह भाव उनके जीवन का स्थायी संस्कार बन गया। 

अमरजीत सिंह की बाईपास सर्जरी हो चुकी है। उन्हें डायबिटिज भी है। उम्र 65 की हो चली है लेकिन मदद करने का उनका जज्बा हर दिन मजबूत हो‍ता जा रहा है। 

अमरजीत सिंह ने कभी किसी असहाय को देखकर अपनी आंखें नहीं मूंदी ना अपना हाथ खींचा... वरना सेवा के अवसर हर दिन हर किसी के सामने आते हैं कितने ऐसे सह्रदय हैं जो साहस कर पाते हैं आग बढ़ने का? 

सबसे बड़ी बात कि उनकी कोशिश होती है कि जो लावारिस लाश उनके सामने आती है उसका धर्म जानकर वे उसी के अनुसार शव को अंतिम सम्मान प्रदान करें। जब तक धार्मिक क्रियाएं चलती है वे वहीं खड़े रहते हैं उसी शांत भाव के साथ जैसे उनका अपना कोई चला गया हो। 

अपने मान से बचाया मासूम का सम्मान: इंदौर के पिपलिया हाना तालाब में जब पन्नी बिनने वाली एक 13 वर्षीया बच्ची उन्हें दिखाई दी तो वे यह देखकर सन्न रह गए कि उसके बदन पर एक कपड़ा नहीं था और आसपास सैकड़ों लोग जमा थे उसे घूर रहे थे, अमरजीत सिंह ने आनन फानन में अपने सिर की पगड़ी उतारी और उसमें लपेट कर अस्पताल ले गए। डॉक्टर ने पूछा यह आपकी बेटी है ? 

तत्काल जवाब आया : हां, सर ये मेरी बेटी है ... 

इलाज के दौरान बच्ची को बचाया नहीं जा सका। 

डॉक्टर ने कहा : बच्ची तो नहीं बच सकी, आप उसका नाम बता दीजिए 

अमरजीत सिंह : मैं अपना नाम बता देता हूं इसका मुझे नहीं पता... 

डॉक्टर  : लेकिन आपने कहा ये आपकी बेटी है 

अमरजीत सिंह : हां,  ताकि इसका जल्दी इलाज हो सके... 

दूसरे दिन अमरजीत सिंह के धर्म से आदेश हुआ कि इन्हें समाज से निकाला जाता है कोई अपनी पगड़ी कैसे उतार सकता है? 

अमरजीत सिंह ने कहा, मैंने एक बच्ची की लाज को ढंका है अगर यह गुनाह है तो मेरे वाहेगुरु मुझे सजा देंगे, ईश्वर न करें कि ऐसा फिर कभी किसी बच्ची के साथ हो लेकिन कभी हुआ तो मैं फिर वहीं करूंगा जो मैंने इस बार किया है... 

ऐसे अनेक मार्मिक किस्सों से भरी पड़ी है अमरजीत सिंह सूदन की जिंदगी.... वे कहते हैं मैं चाहता हूं मरते दम तक मुझे इसी तरह सेवा का मौका मिलता रहे। मैं किसी मजबूर का हाथ थाम सकूं इतना मुझमें सामर्थ्य नहीं बस मेरे मन का संतोष हैं कि मैं किसी के काम आ सका। शहर में इधर-उधर घूमते मानसिक रूप से दुर्बल की चिकित्सा हो या शारीरिक रूप से अक्षम की मरहम पट्टी। अमरजीत सिंह सूदन अपने पूरे मनोयोग से लग जाते हैं उसे बचाने में और अगर न बच सके तो उनकी अंतिम यात्रा की समस्त जिम्मेदारी निभाने.... 

क्या मिला सिला?? 

क्या मिलता है उन्हें यह सब कर के? सवाल के जवाब में वे और विनम्र हो जाते हैं और दुखी मन से कहते हैं जो दंगे फैला रहे हैं जो जात-पांत धर्म-संप्रदाय की विषैली राजनीति कर रहे हैं, देश की आबोहवा को प्रदूषित कर रहे हैं उनसे पूछिए न कि क्या मिलता है उन्हें यह सब कर के?

मुझे तो जो मिलता है उसे मैं कभी शब्दों में नहीं बता पाऊंगा क्योंकि मेरे देश का हर नागरिक स्वस्थ, सुरक्षित और समर्थ रहे मैं तो बस इतना ही प्रयास करता हूं... 

दिल्ली हिंसा के शातिरों, बस अब शर्म करो और रूक जाओ... इस देश में अमरजीत सिंह सूदन रहते हैं। तुम जैसे हजारों हिंसक दिमागों पर अमरजीत सिंह का एक दिल काफी है...
