करीब 4 वर्ष पहले की बात है, मेरी शिक्षण संस्था में एक बार 30-35 बच्चों का समूह जुम्मे की नमाज़ के लिए जाने की अनुमति मांगने आया, यह कहने पर कि ऐसा कोई प्रावधान शिक्षण संस्था में नहीं है कि एक बार कॉलेज आ जाने के बाद आपको नमाज़ के लिए घर जाने दिया जाए। वे कहने लगे कि हमें किसी ने कहा था कि हमें नमाज़ के लिए जाने की सहूलियत मिलेगी, वे 30-35 बच्चे थे और बस की मांग कर रहे थे। प्रबंधन शिक्षक तुरंत हरकत में आए और पड़ताल करने पर किसी व्यक्ति वाली बात सही निकली।
सोचिए उस व्यक्ति ने इल्म की रोशनी की बात नहीं की, केवल धार्मिक आधार पर उन बच्चों को बरगलाया। जब उस व्यक्ति से बात हुई तो कहा कि यदि आपने अनुमति नहीं दी तो एडमिशन प्रभावित होंगे। किंतु कमेटी ने समझदारी से दृढ़ निर्णय लेते हुए कहा कि "भले एडमिशन न हो गलत परंपरा नहीं डाली जाएगी, किसी भी व्यक्ति को एक बार संस्था में आने के बाद किसी धार्मिक कारण से, बीच में घर जाने नहीं दिया जाएगा, चाहे नमाज़ हो या सुंदरकांड, आप उस दिन न आएं, अनुपस्थिति लगेगी, इन कारणों से कोई छुट्टी नहीं दी जा सकेगी"।

समझदार शिक्षकों, प्रबंधन के दृढ़ निश्चय के कारण गलत परंपरा नहीं डली और समझदार बच्चे थे जिन्होंने इसका राजनीतिकरण नहीं होने दिया। संस्था में कोई मुस्लिम बच्ची या माता पिता ने धार्मिक वस्त्र की मांग भी कभी नहीं की, क्योंकि वे जानते हैं कि इल्म की रोशनी को काले कपड़े से ढँका नहीं जा सकता।
जो काम उस व्यक्ति ने किया था न बच्चों को धर्म की छूट दिलाने का झांसा देकर, और नुकसान का हवाला देकर, वही काम राजनैतिक दल करते रहे हैं एक धर्म विशेष के साथ।
हमें वोट देते रहो, बदले में हम आपकी हर गलत बात का समर्थन करेंगें, किसी सुधार, परिष्कार के लिए नहीं कहेंगे, आप जहाँ हैं, जैसे हैं वैसे रहें, हम आपको इल्म की रोशनी नहीं,धर्मांधता का अंधेरा देते रहेंगे, हम कुरीतियों, बुराईयों पर भी बात नहीं करेंगें, हम कभी आपके विकास की बात नहीं करेंगें, बस आप हमारा नुकसान मत करना, वोट देते रहना।
सच कहूँ तो मुस्लिम तुष्टिकरण ने ही इस्लाम का सबसे बड़ा नुकसान किया है, उन्हें केवल इस्तेमाल कर, वोट बैंक बना कर, लेकिन अफसोस इस बात का जो इस्तेमाल होते रहे हैं वे भी तो उस दुश्चक्र से बाहर नहीं आना चाहते, बदलाव या सुधार के लिए प्रस्तुत नहीं हैं। जबकि प्रबुद्ध मुस्लिम विद्वान भी इसकी जरूरत बताते रहे हैं। उस पर हमारे देश का एक तबका राजनैतिक तुष्टिकरण से भी आगे बढ़कर उनका साथ दे कर उन्हें पीछे ही धकेलने पर तुला हुआ है। जाने क्या मजबूरी है, वही जाने।
अब वस्त्र चयन की बात तो सभी स्वतंत्र हैं कुछ भी पहनने के लिए, किंतु संस्था गत व्यवस्था और अनुशासन तो धर्म से उपर की बात है, उसके पालन के लिए तो स्वतः प्रस्तुत हो देश की मुख्य धारा में शामिल होने की बात होनी चाहिए न कि अपनी धार्मिक पहचान की ज़िद।
मुल्ला मौलवियों के इनाम का क्या कीजिएगा, शोषण होते रहने दीजिएगा, कल को जब आप ही इससे बाहर आने के लिए कहेंगी तो फतवे जारी कर देंगें यही लोग, फिर क्या कीजिएगा।
फिर भी संस्था के बाहर यह निजी चयन है शौक से पहनें। हर कोई अपने धर्म की पोशाक के लिए ज़िद करने लगा तो क्या स्थिति बनेगी, सोचिए, क्या व्यवस्था और अनुशासन से धार्मिक स्वतंत्रता बड़ी है।
अब जो विवाद है ध्यान से देखने पर स्क्रिप्टेड दिखाई दे रहा है।

लड़कों को यदि विरोध करना ही था तो बातचीत और संयम से, प्रबंधन से चर्चा कर हल निकाला जा सकता था, विरोध का यह उन्मादी तरीका किसी लिहाज से ठीक नहीं।
किंतु एक सच यह भी कि साल भर से जारी आदेश अभी अचानक प्रकाश में क्यों आया ? लड़कियाँ, मीडिया, कोर्ट, पोस्टर, की सब तैयारी राजनीतिक बू स्पष्ट कर रही है।
क्रोनॉलॉजी समझिए
पहले औवेसी पर हमले की हास्यस्पद घटना,
फिर यह मसला,
कोई रॉकेट साईंस नहीं है कि समझ न आए, न समझना चाहे तो बात और है।
चुनाव है, और कुछ दल एक बार फिर अपने पसंदीदा वोट बैंक का इस्तेमाल करने के लिए आ गए हैं।
इस्तेमाल होने वाला फिर इस्तेमाल होने को तैयार है, चाहे फिर अंधेरे में क्यों न धकेल दिया जाए। जो उन्हें वहाँ से निकालने की कोशिश करे उसे उनके धर्म को छीन लेने का डर बता कर, फिर पीछे खींच लीजिए ।
और फिर यदि बात निजी चयन, स्वतः परंपराओं के पालन की स्वतंत्रता की है तो यही सिद्धांत हर धर्म के लिए बात करते वक्त ध्यान रखा जाना चाहिए, फिर किसी को चूड़ी, बिंदी, साड़ी व्रत, त्यौहार, घूँघटपर ज्ञान देने का अधिकार नहीं रह जाएगा। कितना गलत उदाहरण हो जाएगा बड़ी मुश्किल से जिन कुरीतियों को नियंत्रित किया गया है किसी धर्म विशेष के प्रति अतिशय सापेक्ष होने में हम फिर बहुत पीछे तो न धकेल देंगें समाज को, और याद रखिए कीमत औरतों को ही अदा करनी होगी, इसलिए निरपेक्ष भाव से, बिना किंतु परंतु, निजी विवाद, विचारधारा से उपर उठ कर सोचिए।
