ऋषभ पंत की मां कभी गुरुद्वारे में लंगर सेवा करती थीं, घर के किराए के पैसे भी नहीं होते थे...

ऋषभ पंत आज देश के ऐसे चमकते हुए क्रिकेट सितारे हैं, जो आने वाले समय में महेंद्र सिंह धोनी से विकेटकीपिंग की गौरवशाली विरासत लेते हुए दिखाई देंगे। दुनिया जिस ऋषभ को चीते जैसी चपलता से कीपिंग करते हुए देखती है और बल्लेबाजी में विरोधी गेंदबाज पर करारे प्रहार करने पर तारीफों के पुल बांधती है, उसी क्रिकेटर ने एक दिन मां को गरीबी के दिनों में लंगर सेवा करते हुए भी देखा है। उनके परिवार के पास मकान किराया चुकाने तक के पैसे नहीं हुआ करते थे। लेकिन अपनी मेहनत के बूते पर ऋषभ ने तमाम तंगहाली को दूर कर दिया है।

हरिद्वार (उत्तराखंड) में 4 अक्टूबर 1997 को जन्मे ऋषभ पंत 21 साल की उम्र में अपनी मां के तमाम सपनों को पूरा कर रहे हैं। हां, उन्हें इसका मलाल ताउम्र रहेगा कि उनके पिता राजेंद्र पंत अपने बेटे की कामयाबी नहीं देख सके क्योंकि 5 अप्रैल 2017 को उनकी हार्टअटैक से मौत हो गई। परिवार के नाम पर रह गई हैं तो मां सरोज पंत और बहन साक्षी। पिता चाहते थे कि बेटा बड़ा होकर देश के लिए क्रिकेट खेले। लेकिन आज जब ऋषभ भारतीय टीम के लिए खेल रहे हैं तो उन्हें देखने वाले पिता दुनिया से विदा हो चुके हैं।

मोगरी से हुई क्रिकेट की शुरुआत : ऋषभ के जन्म के बाद परिवार रूड़की में जाकर बस गया था। क्रिकेट का शौक उन्हें बचपन से ही लग गया था, जब वे देहरादून के इंडियन स्कूल में पढ़ते थे। दूसरे बच्चों की तरह ऋषभ ने पहले कपड़े धोने की मोगरी को हाथ में थामा और फिर बल्ला। क्रिकेट का जुनून जब परवार चढ़ने लगा तो वे बस में बैठकर रूड़की से दिल्ली जाने लगे।

राजस्थान ने अपनी टीम से बाहर किया : पिता राजेन्द्र पंत ने अपने परिवार को दिल्ली शिफ्ट कर लिया। ऋषभ ने क्रिकेट की कोचिंग शिखर धवन के कोच रहे तारक सिन्हा से लेनी शुरू की। चूंकि दिल्ली में क्रिकेट प्रतिभाओं की फौज थी, लिहाजा उन्होंने ऋषभ को राजस्थान से खेलने की सलाह दी।

ऋषभ ने अंडर-14 और अंडर-16 क्रिकेट राजस्थान से खेला। लेकिन जब एक दिन उन्हें टीम से बाहर कर दिया तो वे उदास हो गए और वापस दिल्ली चले आए। दिल्ली आने के बाद 17 साल के ऋषभ ने प्रतिज्ञा ली कि अब वे ऐसा खेलेंगे कि कोई टीम उन्हें बाहर का रास्ता न दिखाए।

मां सरोज की कुर्बानी बेकार नहीं गई : ऋषभ पंत के माता-पिता दिल्ली जरूर शिफ्ट हो गए थे लेकिन घर में इतना पैसा भी नहीं आता था कि मकान किराया दे सकें। मां सरोज ने बेटे को क्रिकेट की तरफ ध्यान देने को कहा और खुद दिल्ली के मोतीबाग गुरुद्वारे में लंगर सेवा देने लगीं। ऋषभ को पता था कि उनके क्रिकेट जुनून के लिए मां कैसी कुर्बानी दे रही हैं, लिहाजा उन्होंने इस कुर्बानी को बेकार नहीं होने दिया।

दिनभर क्रिकेट मैदान पर मेहनत की : कुछ बड़ा करने के इरादे से ऋषभ दिनभर क्रिकेट के मैदान पर गुजारा करते थे। एक ही धुन थी कि उन्हें दूसरों से कुछ अलग करना है। आखिर वह दिन भी आया, जब 18वें जन्मदिन से कुछ दिन पहले ही उन्हें रणजी ट्रॉफी में दिल्ली टीम में चुन लिया गया। दिल्ली और बंगाल के मैच (22 से 25 अक्टूबर 2015) ऋषभ ने पहली पारी में 28 और दूसरी पारी में 57 रन ठोंके।

प्रथम श्रेणी में तिहरा शतक : ऋषभ ने 32 प्रथम श्रेणी मैच खेले और 2,440 रन बनाए जिसमें 6 शतक और 10 अर्द्धशतक शामिल हैं। उन्होंने उच्चतम 308 रन बनाए। बतौर कीपर ऋषभ ने 106 कैच लपकने के अलावा 10 स्टंम्पिंग भी की। रणजी में उम्दा प्रदर्शन करने का पुरस्कार उन्हें भारत की अंडर-19 विश्व कप में चुनी गई टीम शामिल करने का मिला। 2016 में अंडर-19 विश्व कप में उन्होंने 18 गेंदों पर अर्द्धशतक बनाकर राष्ट्रीय चयनकर्ताओं का ध्यान अपनी ओर खींचा। विश्व कप में शानदार प्रदर्शन के कारण टीम इंडिया के लिए उनके दरवाजे खुल गए।

टेस्ट, वनडे और आईपीएल करियर : ऋषभ पंत ने इंग्लैंड के खिलाफ (18 से 22 अगस्त 2018) में टेस्ट केप पहनी जबकि पहला वनडे विंडीज के खिलाफ 21 अक्टूबर 2018 में खेला। हालांकि उसके पहले ऋषभ को आईपीएल में दिल्ली डेयरडेविल्स ने खरीदा और पहला मैच उन्होंने गुजरात लॉयंस के खिलाफ 27 अप्रैल 2016 को खेला था यानी वे 19 साल की उम्र में पहला आईपीएल मैच खेल रहे थे।

ऋषभ ने 9 टेस्ट मैचों में 696 (उच्चतम 159 नाबाद), कीपिंग करते हुए 40 कैच, 2 स्टंम्पिंग, 3 वनडे में 41 रन, 13 टी-20 मैच में 229 रन और 38 आईपीएल मैच में 1,248 रन (उच्चतम 128) बनाए हैं।

ऑकलैंड और हेमिल्टन में खेली विस्फोटक पारी : हाल के न्यूजीलैंड टूर में ऋषभ पंत ने ऑकलैंड में दूसरे टी-20 मैच में भारत को सीरीज में 1-1 की बराबरी दिलाने में महती भूमिका अदा की। यहां पर नाबाद 40 रन के अलावा एमएस धोनी (नाबाद 20) के साथ चौथे विकेट के लिए 5.1 ओवरों में 44 रनों की अविजित साझेदारी भी निभाई। तीसरा टी-20 मैच हेमिल्टन में था, जहां पंत ने 12 गेंदों में तड़ातड़ 28 रन बना डाले। दुर्भाग्य से भारत 4 रन से मैच व सीरीज हार गया।
