प्रस्तावना : श्री राम नवमी (Ram Navami) एक प्रसिद्ध हिन्दू त्योहार है। राम नवमी का त्योहार भारत के लोगों द्वारा ही नहीं बल्कि दुनिया के अन्य हिस्सों में रहने वाले हिन्दू समुदाय के लोगों द्वारा भी मनाया जाता है। यह त्योहार बेहद खुशी और उत्साह के साथ मनाया जाता है। माना जाता है इस अवसर पर जो भक्त उपवास करते हैं उन पर अपार खुशी और सौभाग्य की बौछार होती है।
यह प्रतिवर्ष शुक्ल पक्ष या हिन्दू चंद्र वर्ष की चैत्र महीने के नौवें दिन (नवमी) पर मनाया जाता है। यह त्योहार भगवान विष्णु के अवतार मर्यादा पुरुषोत्तम राम (Lord Ram) के जन्म की स्मृति में मनाया जाता है। इस दिन को राम नवमी भी कहा जाता है।
महत्व- महान महाकाव्य रामायण के अनुसार हिन्दू वर्ष 5114 ई.पू. में इसी दिन, राजा दशरथ की प्रार्थना स्वीकार हुई थी। यह राजा दशरथ की तीन पत्नियां थीं। कौशल्या, सुमित्रा और कैकेयी। लेकिन तीन में से कोई भी उसे अपना वंश नहीं दे पाई। राजा को अपने सिंहासन के लिए एक वारिस की जरूरत है यहां तक कि उनकी शादी के कई साल बाद, राजा पिता बनने में असमर्थ था।
वंश प्राप्त करने के लिए महान ऋषि वशिष्ठ ने राजा दशरथ को पवित्र अनुष्ठान पुत्र कामेश्टी यज्ञ करने की सलाह दी। राजा दशरथ की स्वीकृति के साथ, महान ऋषि महर्षि रुर्श्य श्रुन्गा ने विस्तृत ढंग से अनुष्ठान किया। राजा को पायसम का एक कटोरा (दूध और चावल से तैयार भोजन) सौंप दिया और उनकी पत्नियों के बीच यह भोजन वितरित करने के लिए कहा गया।
राजा ने अपनी पत्नी कैकेयी और कौशल्या और एक अन्य आधा पायसम का हिस्सा पत्नी सुमित्रा को दे दिया। इस भोजन के कारण राम (कौशल्या से), भरत (कैकेयी से) तथा लक्ष्मण व शत्रुघ्न (सुमित्रा से) का जन्म हुआ।
व्रत विधि- राम नवमी व्रत महिलाओं के द्वारा किया जाता है। इस दिन व्रत करने वाली महिला को प्रात: सुबह उठना चाहिए और सुबह उठकर, पूरे घर की साफ-सफाई कर घर में गंगाजल छिड़क कर शुद्ध कर लेना चाहिए। इसके पश्चात स्नान कर व्रत का संकल्प लेना चाहिए। इसके बाद एक लकड़ी के चौकोर टुकड़े पर सातिया (स्वस्तिक) बनाकर एक जल से भरा गिलास रखती है और साथ ही अपनी अंगुली से चांदी का छल्ला निकाल कर रखती है। इसे प्रतीक रूप से गणेश जी माना जाता है। व्रत कथा सुनते समय हाथ में गेहूं-बाजरा आदि के दाने लेकर कहानी सुनने का भी महत्व कहा गया है।
व्रत वाले दिन मंदिर में अथवा मकान पर ध्वजा, पताका, तोरण और बंदनवार आदि से सजाने का विशेष विधि-विधान है। व्रत के दिन कलश स्थापना और राम जी के परिवार की पूजा करनी चाहिए। दिन भर भगवान श्री राम के भजन, स्मरण, स्तोत्र पाठ, दान, पुन्य, हवन, पितृ श्राद्ध और उत्सव किया जाना चाहिए और रात्रि में भी गायन, वादन करना शुभ रहता है।
व्रत के लाभ- श्री राम नवमी का व्रत करने से ज्ञान में वृद्धि, धैर्य शक्ति का विस्तार, विचार शक्ति, बुद्धि, श्रद्धा, भक्ति और पवित्रता में वृद्धि होती है। निष्काम भाव से किया गया व्रत अधिक फल देता है। राम नवमी के दिन अयोध्या में भगवान राम का जन्मोत्सव बहुत ही धूमधाम के साथ मनाया जाता है। इस अवसर पर वहां लाखों लोग पहुंचते है और भगवान राम के जन्म उत्सव में भाग लेते हैं।
उपसंहार- राम नवमी को हमें सिर्फ एक दिन का त्योहार न मानकर प्रभु श्री राम के अच्छे गुणों को हमारे जीवन में उतारना चाहिए। प्रभु राम की तरह ही माता-पिता की हर आज्ञा का पालन एक वचन के समान करना चाहिए, साथ ही समाज और अपने राष्ट्र के लिए अच्छे कार्यों को करना चाहिए। हमें भगवान राम के जीवन से सीख लेते हुए हर परिस्थिति का मुकाबला डटकर करना चाहिए।
