* मतदान शाम पांच बजे समाप्त हुआ।
* दोपहर तीन बजे तक 52 प्रतिशत मतदान।
* उत्तर और मध्यवर्ती क्षेत्र के 14 जिलों की 93 सीटों पर कड़ी सुरक्षा के बीच हो रहे मतदान के दौरान दोपहर दो बजे तक अनुमानित 40 प्रतिशत से अधिक औसत वोटिंग हुई है।
* मतदान के दौरान दाहोद जिले में फतेपुरा पाटिया के निकट भाजपा के उपाध्यक्ष प्रफुल्ल डामोर की गाड़ी पर पथराव में एक व्यक्ति घायल हो गया।
* सुबह आठ बजे शुरू हुए मतदान में शुरुआत धीमी रही पर बाद में इसमें कुछ तेजी आ गई। पहले दो घंटे में केवल 12.39 प्रतिशत मतदान हुआ था जो अगले दो घंटे यानी 12 बजे तक बढ़ कर 29.30 प्रतिशत हो गया। उस समय तक साबरकांठा जिले में सर्वाधिक 36.56 तथा अहमदाबाद में सबसे कम 23.92 प्रतिशत मतदान हुआ था।
* पूर्व उपप्रधानमंत्री और गांधीनगर के लोकसभा सांसद लालकृष्ण आडवाणी ने अहमदाबाद के शाहपुर के हिंदी विद्यालय बूथ वोट डाला।
* चिमनभाई पटेल ने वेजलपुर में संस्थान बूथ में मतदान किया।
* राज्यपाल ओपी कोहली ने गांधीनगर के सेक्टर 20 में मतदान किया।
* कई स्थानों पर ईवीएम में तकनीकी गड़बड़ी के चलते मतदान विलंब से शुरू हुआ और कुछ स्थानों पर लोगों ने स्थानीय मुद्दों को लेकर मतदान का बहिष्कार भी किया।
कांग्रेस के नेता अल्पेश ठाकोर ने अहमदाबाद वीरमगाम के एंदला में वोट डाले।
* उपमुख्यमंत्री नितिन पटेल ने महेसाणा में, मुख्य सचिव जेएन सिंह ने गांधीनगर तथा मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी बीबी स्वेन ने अहमदाबाद में वोट डाला।
* पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री शंकरसिंह वाघेला ने गांधीनगर, कांग्रेस के पूर्व प्रदेश अध्यक्ष सह प्रत्याशी सिद्धार्थ पटेल ने डभोई में, पार्टी के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष भरतसिंह सोलंकी ने देंदरड़ा, प्रवक्ता शक्तिसिंह गोहिल ने गांधीनगर में वोट डाला।
* बनासकांठा जिले के थराद में आठ बोगस मतदाताओं को जमड़ा गांव से पकड़ा गया है।
* बनासकांठा जिले के वाव क्षेत्र में एक बाजार में गोदाम से कल देर रात शराब और 12 लाख की नकदी बरामद किए जाने की पड़ताल की जा रही है।
* दूसरे चरण के मतदान के साथ ही पहले चरण के चार क्षेत्रों की कुल छह बूथ पर पुनर्मतदान भी हो रहा है। इन पर ईवीएम में चुनाव के पहले जांच के लिए किये गये मॉक पॉल के आंकड़े को मिटाया नहीं गया था। इनमें से दो दो बूथ जामजोधपुर और उना तथा एक एक निझर और उमरगांव विधानसभा क्षेत्र में हैं।
* अहमदाबाद 23.80 फीसदी, अरावली 22, पाटन 27, बनासकांठा 27 और खेड़ा में 30 फीसदी मतदान।

* उन्होंने लोगों से विकास की यात्रा को आगे ले जाने के वास्ते वोट डालने के लिए बड़ी संख्या में आने की अपील की।
* अमित शाह अपनी पत्नी सोनल शाह और बेटे जय शाह के साथ नारणपुरा उपमंडल कार्यालय में मतदान केंद्र पर वोट डालने आए।
* कुछ स्थानों पर इवीएम में तकनीकी गड़बड़ी के चलते मतदान विलंब से शुरू होने की भी सूचना है।
* पहले चरण की तुलना में सुबह आज अधिक ठंड होने के बावजूद मतदान शुरू होने के पहले से ही कई स्थानों पर मतदाताओं की लंबी कतारे दिख रही हैं।

* सुबह जल्द मतदान करने वालो में प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी की 97 वर्षीय माता हीराबा ने गांधीनगर में, पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री आनंदीबेन ने घाटलोडिया में तथा कांग्रेस के अल्पेश ठाकोर ने अहमदाबाद के एंदला में वोट डाले।
* मोदी की मां के साथ उनके छोटे पुत्र पंकज मोदी और परिवार के अन्य सदस्य भी थे।
* प्रधानमंत्री की मां ने अपना वोट डालने के बाद मतदान केंद्र के बाहर खड़े मीडियाकर्मियों को स्याही लगी हुई उंगली दिखाई। उनकी उम्र 90 वर्ष के करीब है।
* उन्होंने मतदान केंद्र से बाहर आते हुए संवाददाताओं से कहा, 'भगवान गुजरात का कल्याण करें।'
* मोदी स्वयं आज अहमदाबाद के राणिप क्षेत्र में निशान विद्यालय बूथ पर मतदान करेंगे जबकि पूर्व उपप्रधानमंत्री लालकृष्ण आडवाणी शाहपुर के हिंदी विद्यालय, वित्त मंत्री अरूण जेटली वेजलपुर तथा भाजपा अध्यक्ष अमित शाह नाराणपुरा में मतदान करेंगे।
