एकादशी व्रत हिन्दू कैलेंडर के अनुसार बहुत ही शुभ व्रत माना जाता है। एकादशी शब्द संस्कृत भाषा से लिया गया है जिसका अर्थ है ग्यारह। प्रत्येक महीने में दो एकादशी होती हैं जो कि शुक्ल पक्ष एवं कृष्ण पक्ष के दौरान आती हैं। माह दिसंबर 2017 में 29 दिसंबर 2017 दिन मंगलवार, शुक्ल पक्ष को पौष पुत्रदा एकादशी मनाई जाएगी....
पुत्रदा एकादशी व्रत:-
व्रत के दिन सुबह सूर्योदय से पहले उठकर नित्य क्रिया से निवृत्त होकर सबसे पहले स्नान कर लेना चाहिए। यदि आपके पास गंगाजल है तो पानी में गंगाजल डालकर नहाना चाहिए। स्नान करने के लिए कुश और तिल के लेप का प्रयोग करना श्रेष्ठ माना गया है। स्नान करने के बाद शुद्ध व साफ कपड़ा पहनकर विधिवत भगवान श्री विष्णु की पूजा करनी चाहिए।
भगवान् विष्णु देव की प्रतिमा के सामने घी का दीप जलाएं तथा पुनः व्रत का संकल्प लेकर कलश की स्थापना करना चाहिए। कलश को लाल वस्त्र से बांध कर उसकी पूजा करनी चाहिए। इसके बाद उसके ऊपर भगवान की प्रतिमा रखें, प्रतिमा को शुद्ध कर नया वस्त्र पहना देना चाहिए। उसके बाद पुनः धूप, दीप से आरती करनी चाहिए और नैवेद्य तथा फलों का भोग लगाना चाहिए। प्रसाद का वितरण कर ब्राह्मणों को भोजन तथा दान-दक्षिणा देनी चाहिए। रात में भगवान का भजन-कीर्तन करना चाहिए। दूसरे दिन ब्राह्मण भोजन तथा दान के बाद ही खाना खाना चाहिए।
भक्तिपूर्वक इस व्रत को करने से व्यक्ति की सभी कामनाओं की पूर्ति होती है। संतान की कामना रखने वाले व्यक्ति को इस व्रत को करने से शीघ्र संतान की प्राप्ति होती है।
संतान प्राप्ति हेतु एकादशी के अचूक उपाय :-
पुत्रदा एकादशी के दिन विष्णु सहस्त्रनाम का 108 पाठ एवं एकादशी व्रत पाठ करें तथा विष्णु प्रतिमा या अपने घर के मंदिर के समीप ही शयन करें...ब्राह्मणों को भोजन एवं यथा शक्ति दान दक्षिणा देकर आशीर्वाद प्राप्त करें... योग्य संतान की प्राप्ति अवश्य होगी...
पुत्रदा एकादशी व्रत कथा :
पुत्रदा एकादशी कथा इस प्रकार है.... प्राचीन काल में महिष्मति नामक नगरी में ‘महीजित’ नामक एक धर्मात्मा राजा सुखपूर्वक राज्य करता था। वह बहुत ही शांतिप्रिय, ज्ञानी और दानी था। सभी प्रकार का सुख-वैभव से सम्पन्न था परन्तु राजा संतान कोई भी संतान नहीं था इस कारण वह राजा बहुत ही दुखी रहता था।
एक दिन राजा ने अपने राज्य के सभी ॠषि-मुनियों, सन्यासियों और विद्वानों को बुलाकर संतान प्राप्ति के लिए उपाय पूछा। उन ऋषियों में दिव्यज्ञानी लोमेश ऋषि ने कहा- ‘राजन ! आपने पूर्व जन्म में सावन / श्रावण मास की एकादशी के दिन आपके तालाब में एक गाय जल पी रही थी.. आपने अपने तालाब से जल पीती हुई गाय को भगा दिया था। उस प्यासी गाय के शाप देने के कारण तुम संतान सुख से वंचित हो। यदि आप अपनी पत्नी सहित पुत्रदा एकादशी को भगवान जनार्दन का भक्तिपूर्वक पूजन-अर्चन और व्रत करो तो तुम्हारा शाप दूर हो जाएगा। शाप मुक्ति के बाद अवश्य ही पुत्र रत्न प्राप्त होगा।’
लोमेश ऋषि की आज्ञानुसार राजा ने ऐसा ही किया। उसने अपनी पत्नी सहित पुत्रदा एकादशी का व्रत किया। इस व्रत के प्रभाव से रानी ने एक सुंदर शिशु को जन्म दिया। पुत्र लाभ से राजा बहुत ही प्रसन्न हुआ और पुनः वह हमेशा ही इस व्रत को करने लगा। उसी समय से यह व्रत लोक में प्रचलित हो गया। अतः जो भी व्यक्ति संतान की इच्छा रखता हो वह यदि इस व्रत को शुद्ध मन से करता है तो अवश्य ही उसकी इच्छा की पूर्ति होती है.
