डोसी (39), डॉक्टरों, नर्सों और पैरामेडिकल स्टाफ की उस 100 सदस्यीय टीम के प्रमुख हैं, जो कोविड-19 के हॉटस्पॉट बने इस शहर में पिछले कई दिनों से अपने परिवार से अलग रहकर इस महामारी के मरीजों के इलाज में जुटी है।
अस्पताल के वार्डों से लेकर गहन चिकित्सा इकाई (आईसीयू) तक लगातार दौड़-भाग कर रहे 39 वर्षीय डॉक्टर श्री अरबिंदो इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ मेडिकल साइंसेज (सैम्स) में काम करते हैं। करीब 1,150 बिस्तरों वाले अस्पताल के प्रबंधन का दावा है कि इस चिकित्सा संस्थान में एक ही वक्त पर कोविड-19 के देशभर में सर्वाधिक मरीजों का इलाज किया जा रहा है।

निजी सुरक्षा उपकरणों (पीपीई) से लैस डोसी ने शनिवार को बताया कि हमारे अस्पताल में फिलहाल करीब 130 मरीज भर्ती हैं जिनमें से 7 गहन चिकित्सा इकाई (आईसीयू) में हैं। इलाज के बाद स्वस्थ पाए जाने पर 25 मरीजों को पहले ही अस्पताल से छुट्टी दी जा चुकी है।
उन्होंने बताया कि गले में खराश, सर्दी-खांसी और बुखार जैसे लक्षणों के साथ कोविड-19 के औसतन 10 नए मरीज हमारे पास रोज आ रहे हैं। पहले मरीज गंभीर हालत में अस्पताल पहुंच रहे थे लेकिन अब इस महामारी को लेकर जागरूकता बढ़ने पर अपेक्षाकृत कम गंभीर स्थिति वाले मरीज आ रहे हैं।
डोसी ने बताया कि कोविड-19 के मरीजों में ज्यादातर लोग ऐसे हैं, जो मधुमेह, हृदयरोग, उच्च रक्तचाप (हाइपरटेंशन), दमा और श्वसन तंत्र से जुड़ी बीमारियों से पहले से जूझ रहे हैं। इनमें ऐसे कई मरीज भी शामिल हैं जिनके फेफड़े लंबे समय तक धूम्रपान करने से कमजोर हो चुके हैं।
अपनी तेज कारोबारी और औद्योगिक हलचलों के लिए मिनी मुंबई भी कहे जाने वाले इंदौर में कोरोना वायरस के मरीज मिलने के बाद से प्रशासन ने 25 मार्च से शहरी सीमा में कर्फ्यू लगा रखा है। पिछले 18 दिन के दौरान शहर में कोरोना वायरस संक्रमण के 249 मरीज मिले हैं। इनमें से 30 लोग इलाज के दौरान दम तोड़ चुके हैं यानी फिलहाल शहर में कोविड-19 के मरीजों की मरीजों की मृत्यु दर 12 प्रतिशत के आस-पास है।
आंकड़ों के विश्लेषण से पता चलता है कि शहर में इस महामारी के मरीजों की मृत्यु दर पिछले कई दिनों से राष्ट्रीय स्तर के मुकाबले कहीं ज्यादा बनी हुई है। इससे चिकित्सा समुदाय की चिंताएं बढ़ती जा रही हैं।
हालांकि डोसी का दावा है कि इंदौर में अब तक कोरोना वायरस संक्रमण का सामुदायिक प्रसार नहीं हुआ है तथा अभी हमारे पास ज्यादातर मरीज ऐसे हैं, जो या तो पहले ही पृथकवास में रह रहे थे या उनका कोई पारिवारिक सदस्य अथवा परिचित इस बीमारी की चपेट में आ चुका है।
39 वर्षीय मेडिकल पेशेवर ने कहा कि फिलहाल बतौर डॉक्टर मेरे लिए सबसे बड़ी चुनौती कोविड-19 को लेकर समाज में व्याप्त अति नकारात्मकता से खुद को बचाना है। मैं खुद को हमेशा प्रोत्साहित रखने की कोशिश करता हूं, क्योंकि मुझे पता है कि इस महामारी के खिलाफ लड़ाई लंबी चलने वाली है।
मुख्य चिकित्सा एवं स्वास्थ्य अधिकारी डॉ. प्रवीण जड़िया ने बताया कि 150 डॉक्टरों समेत सरकारी क्षेत्र के लगभग 600 स्वास्थ्य कर्मी भी कोविड-19 के खिलाफ इंदौर में अलग-अलग स्तरों पर जारी जंग में शामिल हैं। सैम्स के अलावा शहर के शासकीय मनोरमाराजे टीबी (एमआरटीबी) चिकित्सालय और एक अन्य निजी अस्पताल में भी इस महामारी के मरीज भर्ती हैं।
सरकारी अधिकारियों के मुताबिक 30 लाख से ज्यादा आबादी वाले इंदौर में मार्च के आखिर में कोरोना वायरस का प्रकोप शुरू हुआ था। अब तक इस महामारी को लेकर इंदौर और आस-पास के जिलों के करीब 3,000 लोगों के नमूनों की अलग-अलग प्रयोगशालाओं में जांच हुई है।
स्वास्थ्य क्षेत्र के कार्यकर्ताओं का मानना है कि इंदौर जैसी घनी आबादी वाले शहर में कोविड-19 को जड़ से मिटाने के लिए ज्यादा से ज्यादा लोगों की जांच की आवश्यकता है। इसके लिए सरकार को नई प्रयोगशालाओं को जांच की जल्द मंजूरी देनी चाहिए। (भाषा) (फ़ाइल चित्र)
