इंदौर। भगवान शिव के महाकालेश्वर ज्योतिर्लिंग और अन्य धार्मिक स्थलों के चलते मशहूर उज्जैन में 25 मार्च को कोविड-19 के शुरुआती मामले की पुष्टि से पहले जन-जीवन कुल मिलाकर सामान्य रवानी से आगे बढ़ रहा था। लेकिन गुजरे डेढ़ महीने के दौरान मरीजों की ऊंची मृत्यु दर ने करीब 7 लाख की आबादी वाली मंदिरों की इस नगरी को महामारी के चिंताजनक केंद्र में बदल दिया है।
जानकारों का मानना है कि इंदौर से करीब 60 किलोमीटर दूर शहर पर कोविड-19 के अचानक हमले से चरमराये चिकित्सा तंत्र की कथित खामियों के साथ ही इस महामारी के मरीजों के देरी से अस्पताल पहुंचने के चलते वहां हालात बिगड़ते चले गए।
आधिकारिक जानकारी के मुताबिक उज्जैन जिले में रविवार सुबह तक कोविड-19 के कुल 237 मरीज मिले हैं। इनमें शामिल एक पुलिस निरीक्षक और एक भाजपा पार्षद समेत 45 मरीजों की मौत हो चुकी है, जबकि 94 लोगों को संक्रमणमुक्त होने पर अस्पतालों से छुट्टी दी जा चुकी है।
उज्जैन में रविवार सुबह की स्थिति में कोविड-19 के मरीजों की मृत्यु दर करीब 19 प्रतिशत दर्ज की गई। यह मृत्यु दर 3.35 प्रतिशत के राष्ट्रीय औसत के साढ़े 5 गुने से भी ज्यादा है।

" /> उज्जैन के नए जिलाधिकारी आशीष सिंह ने बताया, ‘हम चिकित्सा तंत्र में सुधार करते हुए कोविड-19 के मरीजों की मृत्यु दर घटाने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं। हमारे लिए हरेक मरीज की जान कीमती है।‘
सिंह ने बताया कि उज्जैन में कोविड-19 के रोगियों के संपर्क में आये लोगों की खोज के साथ ही पूरे शहर का सघन सर्वेक्षण भी किया जा रहा है ताकि स्क्रीनिंग के जरिये ज्यादा से ज्यादा संदिग्ध मरीजों की पहचान कर उन्हें अलग किया जा सके।
जिलाधिकारी ने कहा कि हमें उम्मीद है कि इन प्रयासों से अगले 15 दिन के भीतर उज्जैन में कोरोना वायरस की कड़ी कफी हद तक टूट जायेगी।
उज्जैन में एक भी सरकारी चिकित्सा महाविद्यालय नहीं है और कोविड-19 मरीजों के इलाज का भार निजी क्षेत्र के आरडी गार्डी मेडिकल कॉलेज के 750 बिस्तरों वाले अस्पताल पर है। इसके अलावा, पड़ोसी शहर इंदौर के एक निजी अस्पताल में भी उज्जैन के गंभीर मरीजों के लिए 100 बिस्तर आरक्षित किए गए हैं।
कोविड-19 के मरीजों और उनके परिजनों के साथ ही दोनों प्रमुख दलों-भाजपा तथा कांग्रेस के स्थानीय राजनेताओं ने आरडी गार्डी मेडिकल कॉलेज के अस्पताल के खिलाफ बदइंतजामी के आरोप लगाये हैं और इन्हें लेकर सोशल मीडिया पर कई वीडियो भी वायरल हो चुके हैं।
उज्जैन के इस निजी अस्पताल की व्यवस्थाओं में सुधार के लिये प्रशासन ने अतिरिक्त जिलाधिकारी सुजान सिंह रावत को नोडल अफसर नियुक्त किया है। रावत ने बताया कि हम चिकित्सा सुविधाओं में इजाफा करते हुए आरडी गार्डी मेडिकल कॉलेज के अस्पताल को लेकर जनता में विश्वास बहाल करने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं। इस संस्थान के डॉक्टरों और अन्य कर्मचारियों से चर्चा कर उनकी समस्याएं भी सुलझाई गई हैं।
रावत ने दावा किया कि उज्जैन में कोविड-19 से दम तोड़ने वाले करीब 70 प्रतिशत मरीज ऐसे थे जिनकी अस्पताल लाये जाने के 72 घंटे के भीतर ही मौत हो गई। अतिरिक्त जिलाधिकारी के मुताबिक ये मरीज गंभीर हालत में अस्पताल लाये गये थे और इनमें से ज्यादातर मरीज खासकर मधुमेह तथा श्वास संबंधी रोगों से पहले ही जूझ रहे थे।
प्रदेश सरकार के एक अन्य अधिकारी ने बताया कि शुरूआत में प्रयोगशाला से नमूनों की जांच रिपोर्ट आने में देरी से भी उज्जैन में कोविड-19 के हालात से निपटने के प्रयासों पर बुरा असर पड़ा।
कोरोना वायरस के प्रकोप के कारण प्रशासन ने महाकालेश्वर मंदिर में दर्शनार्थियों के प्रवेश पर मार्च में ही रोक लगा दी थी। लेकिन मंदिर के पुजारियों द्वारा भगवान शिव के 12 ज्योतिर्लिंगों में शामिल इस पवित्र स्थल की नियमित पूजा-अर्चना जारी है।
महाकालेश्वर मंदिर के प्रमुख पुजारियों में से एक विकास शर्मा ने बताया, ‘हम महामृत्युंजय मंत्र के जाप के जरिये भगवान महाकाल से हर दिन प्रार्थना कर रहे हैं कि वह उज्जैन ही नहीं, बल्कि समूचे विश्व को कोरोना वायरस के प्रकोप से मुक्ति दिलायें।‘ (भाषा)
