कहां हैं टारजन गर्ल किमी काटकर, जिसकी बोल्डनेस ने मचा दी थी धूम

टारजन पर खूब फिल्में बनी हैं और 1985 में फिल्म निर्माता-निर्देशक बी. सुभाष ने भी 'टारजन' फिल्म बनाई। उन्होंने टारजन के किरदार के लिए पहलवाननुमा हीरो हेमंत बिरजे को चुना। हीरोइन के किरदार के लिए किमी काटकर को प्रस्तुत किया। किमी ने भी बॉलीवुड में कदम ही रखा था। तीन करोड़ में तैयार यह 'बी-ग्रेड' की मूवी थी, लेकिन बॉक्स ऑफिस पर सुपरहिट रही। फिल्म की सफलता का सेहरा टारजन के बजाय टारजन गर्ल किमी काटकर के सिर बंधा।

किमी ने फिल्म में जम कर एक्सपोज किया और दर्शक उनके दीवाने हो गए। इरोटिक तरह से उन्होंने अपने किरदार को पेश किया और इस फिल्म के बाद किमी को सेक्सी सायरन कहा जाने लगा। इस फिल्म में वे बहुत कम कपडों में नजर आईं और बिंदास तरीके से अपने किरदार को जिया। 

टारजन की सफलता का हेमंत बिरजे को खास फायदा नहीं हुआ। कुछ बी, सी ग्रेड की फिल्मों में नजर आने के बाद वे खो गए, लेकिन किमी काटकर के पास तो फिल्मों के ऑफर के ढेर लग गए। धर्मेन्द्र, जीतेन्द्र से लेकर तो अनिल कपूर, जैकी श्रॉफ, गोविंदा तक की वे हीरोइन बनीं। महानायक अमिताभ बच्चन के साथ भी 'हम' मूवी में जुम्मा-चुम्मा करती नजर आईं। बड़े बैनर्स और निर्देशकों के साथ किमी को काम करने का मौका मिला। हालांकि इन फिल्मों में उनकी भूमिका महत्वहीन होती थी। टारजन से जो सेक्सी सायरन का तमगा उन्होंने पाया था वही उन पर भारी पड़ा। हर फिल्म में वे ग्लैमर गर्ल के रूप में ही नजर आईं। 

लगभग आठ साल तक वे फिल्माकाश पर छाई रहीं और अचानक उन्होंने फिल्म करियर छोड़ दिया और शादी रचा ली। किमी के इस कदम से सभी हैरान रह गए। ऐसा नहीं था कि किमी के पास काम की कमी थी। कहते हैं कि किमी फिल्म इंडस्ट्री में हो रहे भेदभाव से दु:खी थीं और इसीलिए उन्होंने फिल्म इंडस्ट्री छोड़ने का फैसला लिया। शांतनु नामक फोटोग्राफर से उन्होंने विवाह किया। 

शादी के बाद एक बेटा हुआ जिसका नाम किमी ने सिद्धार्थ रखा। किमी के जीवन में तब तूफान आ गया जब उन्हें पता चला कि उनके बेटे को जानलेवा बीमारी है। वे उसका इलाज करवाने ऑस्ट्रेलिया ले गईं। इलाज लंबा चलना था, इसलिए वे कुछ सालों तक ऑस्ट्रेलिया में रहीं। बाद में भारत लौट आईं और पुणे तथा गोआ में रहने लगीं। 

अब वे फिल्मी पार्टियों में न के बराबर दिखती हैं। मीडिया से दूरी बना कर रखती हैं। सोशल मीडिया पर भी एक्टिव नहीं है। एक बिंदास एक्ट्रेस फिल्म इंडस्ट्री से उदास होकर इतनी चुप हो जाएगी, किसी ने सोचा नहीं था।
